Dimension Door or Blink on a Magic Carpet

I have a player that was on a magic carpet using dimension door, is there any game mechanics that would allow that to fail, is that possible. I would think its OK to do, but the question did come up.

She should be able to take the carpet and one other person with her. If the carpet has more riders than that then they may plummet once their ride disappears. Feel free to override rules in favor of the players if they need a cool escape.

Or feel free to rule that static electricity built up from rubbing against the carpet throws off the dimension door and teleports the group into the mouth of an active volcano.
