[Sorry if any of this has been covered before, but I didn't want to get in trouble for bringing a months-old thread back from the dead]
My gaming group is about to start a SW Saga Edition game in a couple of weeks, and I've been looking through the Core Rulebook to try to come up with a character. However, I've found a couple of questions to which I can find no answer in the Rulebook.
First, we're starting above first level (don't know the specifics, but it's somewhere from 5th to 8th level, probably), but I have no idea where I'd find any Wealth-by-Level rules (or if there even are any such rules in SWSE).
Secondly, and this is just a mechanics thing, why would anyone ever choose to wear armor in this game? I mean, if I get to add my Dex modifier AND one-half my level to my Ref save, eventually (assuming I've got a decent Dex, which nearly everyone will considering how basically everyone will probably be using ranged weapons), my Dex plus 1/2 my level will be better than anything armor can give, especially considering the Max Dex Bonuses of the armors (which to me seem very low). At 20th level, you could have 10 + Dex + Class bonuses, or you could have 10 + 1 (Max Dex) + Class bonuses and be slowed down and weighed down (unless you spend talents and such to be really good in heavy armor). And considering you get two ability increases at every 4 levels (if I read that correctly), there's no reason to have a low Dex, when it's important for so many things.
Lastly, I'm looking at playing a Droid (specifically, one sort of like HK-47 from KoTOR), and I just wondered if creating a Droid character is as complicated as it seems at first glance. I'd like to do it, but it's sort of daunting with all these accessories and appendages and cost factors and whatnot. So, has anyone actually played a Droid hero, was it very complicated, and was it worth any complications?
