View Full Version : Would 3 levels of Mastermind improve the Blades bard?

AFAICT, the consensus on the Blades bard is that spending your BI to buff yourself is subpar relative to the other options for BI. Would three levels of Rogue (Mastermind) fix that? The BA 30' Help to grant your friends advantage might be mechanically superior to one BI die anyway, and it's every turn. Plus the SA dice don't hurt your melee damage any, and the social abilities seem like they mesh pretty nicely with being a CHA caster -- and extra expertise is lovely, too.

Of course, you're setting your spell progression back three levels, but is it worth it?

If you plan to be in melee more than cast, yes. Otherwise, it's too much of a delay in spells. In general, keep the flourishes for when you crit, which shouldn't be hard with Greater Invisibility.
