Heya gang,

Each year I run a yahoo fatntasy Football game with members of the various clubs, MMPORG's, and forums I am involved in. Our current league is about ready to kick off, but we're a division short. What we need are 3 players from Giant in the Playground. :)

Our league is a nooby league. Most of the players have very little if any experience with the game of football. Many have no idea who the players are in real life. They're geeky enough though to understand at least part of the numbers side of things. They know that "Some dude named P. Manning is a pretty good qaurterback on whatever real life team he plays on, so I should probably pick him up." They don't nessesarily know what a quarterback does. :)

The league is also a bit of a role playing league. Each week we write up pre and post game shows from the point of view of the managers and coaches of our imaginary teams. "This is not at all nessesary for participation in the league." A couple of us just get a kick out of doing that. The only real impact this has is on the team names you're allowed.

Current News:

Week – 10

The “Calm” in the storm!

The Calming Aura this week set a new record for most consecutive wins. As they came away with their 10 win in a row, with a 258 – 184 victory over Big Mama. Not only did Calming Aura win the game, they were once again the high scorer or the week. This extended their point league over the next closest team, and only team that can still knock them out of the playoffs. Talos Tritons. Their current points lead is 111.20 points. In order to lock their position in the playoffs the Aura need just 2 more wins. Or 1 win and a loss by Talos Tritons. Mathematically speaking Kings Row Krushers could potentially knock Calming Aura out of the playoffs (And they get their 1st chance as they play them this week. But it’s a long Shot.

Are The Playoffs A Lock ?!?

Word around the fantasy sports world is that the play offs are all locked up. I’m here to tell you folks that this not necessarily true. Many of the top teams still have a few spoiler teams left to play. A couple are even playing each other. It’s possible still that a few of the top teams could draw as many as 3 losses over these last 5 games. Leaving openings for current 6-5 or in worst case scenario; 5-5 teams to sneak in if they can win out the rest of their season.

Play Off Review:
A group of upsets by 4-6 teams put a damper on some peoples hopes of breaking into the main playoffs.

Green Ninja’s beat Sasins. Brining both teams to 5-5. Both teams have fairly low overall points. Trailing the leaders by about 200 points. So their prospects of making the main playoffs are slim. Still both could still make the consolation rounds. End their season on a high note with a winning record. And bloody the noses of other teams trying to do the same.

Pendleton also upset Sapphire Guard. This really slowed down Sapphire Guards push for the play offs. Their high point total (They are 4th in points overall.) though means they hold tie break points against even some elite teams. Their destiny is in their own hands. Over the next 4 weeks they play the 4 top teams. Starting with Mythknight, THUNDER, Calming Aura, & Irish Fury before finishing the season against Green Ninja’s. If they win out, they have a good chance of getting in. Pendleton has less chance to make the final 4 than most other teams. They have not yet passed 2000 total points. So almost everyone of importance has the tie break over them currently.

The Krushers took another loss this week to THUNDER. This doesn’t knock them out but puts them in bad shape. The only contending team they hold the tie break over is Pendleton. They need to practically win out, while getting help from the bottom teams beating Irish fury, or THUNDER losing two more games, to get in. Let alone someone needs to beat The Talos Tritons. The Tritons are doing well. They’ve won their last two after going on that 4 game slide. They’re also second overall in points so hold the tie break against everyone except Calming Aura. As long as she keeps wining and someone beats Irish Fury, or 2 people beat THUNDER she’ll be in. Just have to keep her points up. Irish fury trails her in tie break points by less than a dozen.

The Championship Favorites:
#1 Calming Aura 10-0 : Still marching on with their season undefeated streak intact. It’s doubtful anyone will be able to knock Calming Aura out of the playoffs. He’s playing mostly for the record books right now.

#2 Mythknight 9-1 : Mythknight still has about a 50-50 chance of being knocked out of the play offs. 4 of the final 5 teams he faces (Which include both THUNDER & Calming Aura) can beat him on a good week. If he were to lose to Pendleton and Sapphire Guard he would be vulnerable to being knocked out later by TC and Calming Aura. One more loss though by Talos Tritons should safe guard him from getting knocked out.

#3 THUNDER 7-2 : THUNDER is in the same boat as Mythknight. Keep winning, and hope the teams below him lose. He too is looking at Talos Tritons who is the biggest threat to him.

#4 The Irish Fury: The Irish can’t sleep through the end of his season. Talos also has a pretty easy schedule. The Irish has big name games against Kings Row Krushers, Sapphire Guard & Pendleton to round out the season. He can’t look past Big Mama and Dominators as well. Both have been known as spoiler teams in the past. In 2k5 it was a streak just like this one that knocked The Irish Fury from the playoff hunt. As they lost their final 4 games of the season to Mythknight, Dominators, THUNDER, & Kings Row.

Krushers, THUNDER & Mythknight finished that season 1, 2, & 3.

Let’s get to the awards.

Week – 10 Pre-game Show

#1 Calming Aura (10-0-0) VS. #6 Kings Row Krushers 6-4-0)
Calming Aura got a good win last week. Only a couple of teams can knock Calming Aura out of the playoffs. One of them is Kings Row Krushers. If Calming Aura wins this one, it will essentially knock the Krushers out of the running, and put CA one win away from clinching a play off spot.

We’ve already said it. The Krushers need to win out the season. No matter who is in front of them. They can afford no more losses. A sinles loss between here and the championship will knock off the Krushers form the title.

#2 Mythknight’s Jester (9-1-0) VS. #7 Sapphire Guard (5-5-0)
If Mythknight can win it’s next two games he’ll be able to coast through the rest of the season. First though he has to win his next two.
Sapphire Guards bid for the tittle hit a snag in the form of Pendleton last week. He can still get in but he’ll need some help. First step is to take out Mythknight.

#3 THUNDER (8-2-0) VS. #14 Dominators (2-8-0)
THUNDER scored low but managed to win anyway, against the Krushers who are haing all kinds of trouble late in the season.

Dominators lead for most of the weekend last week against Mythknight only to come up short. Can he take out big brother?

#4 The Irish Fury (7-3-0) VS. #12 Big Mama’s House (3-7-0)
Irish got through the game of the week in week 10. He should be able to beat Big mama who’s team is just too inconsistent.

Big Mama was holding her own last week, until the start of the second half. When Calmign Aura just took off. She has a spoiler game to win this week.

#5 Talos Tritons (6-4-0) VS. #11 Whipping Boys (4-6-0)
Talos move up a spot due to her Tie Break points and is now the #1 contender to knock someone out of the playoffs. Don’ tlok past the most dangerous of the sub .500 teams though.

Whipping Boys has been productive this season but is always matched up wrong. She’s averaging over 200 a game but her opponents just manage to outscore her more often than not. Whipping Boys outscored Talos Tritons by 30_ last week. If she can do it again she’ll be breaking a certain girls heart.

#8 Green Ninja’s (5-5-0) VS. #16 DragonBallz (0-10-0)
A good win last week is keeping Green Ninja’s alive. Don’t sleep on DragonBallz though. The new management has the team scoring decent points. They could come up and bite someone.
Since the new manager took over DragonBallz has not failed to score 200 points.

#9 Sasins (5-5-0) VS. #15 Weis Guys (2-8-0)
Sasins Swapped places with green Ninja’s last week. Hoping to snap this 5 game losing streak against the next to last place Weis Guys.

Weis Guys have been floundering with no manager input. They should be a cake walk.

#10 Pendleton Bulldog’s (5-5-0) VS. #13 Xykon’s Zombies (3-7-0)
Pendleton is still fighting for that Division title. Beating Xykon this will make sure he doesn’t come in last in division.

Fantasy Football is also "Football for those who couldn't play football in real life."

By the way, we still need GITPG volunteers.

I may be interested in joining. There is already a league forming for Gitp (and we need 1 more Hint, hint) here (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50370).

When is your draft?

We will set draft date to the day after we get three more players to sign up. :) Most are ready to draft.

Which means I'll probably hit "draft ready" sometime by the end of this week.

Damionte

An example of one of our Pre Game shows. This is from I think week 12 of last year. We write one of these about mid week before the first game of the week. And the day after the last game of the week as a post game show. Followed by stats and awards for that week. Posting the results on the different forums for the clubs involved.

Although I use the term divisions a lot, the divisions are only for bragging rights amongst your group. Winning your division in and of itself has not impact on rather you make the playoffs. The top 4-6 win.loss rations make the playoffs regardless of division.

Week 13 Match-Ups

#1 THUNDER (10-2-0) vs #5 Sasins (7-5-0)
Sasins tries to keep the run going vs THUNDER this week. THUNDER is coming off a disappointing loss to Iceman in week-12. So is looking to come back and stave off The Irish Fury who are also 10-2. Sasins needs every win he can get, to make sure he stays in the playoffs. The rest of the 7-5 teams have easier matches this week. With last weeks win over Big Mama, Sasins moved to 5th place over all, but also took the lead in Both the Inland Empire Division, with a 213 point lead over DaBears, & the Money Prize teams with a 350 point lead over Dominators.

#2 The Irish Fury (10-2-0) vs #10 Whipping Boys (6-6-0)
Irish has won 3 straight and is record tied with THUNDER for the #1 seed. He will end the season vs Whipping Boys and Dominators. Who although they were great spoilers last year have struggled to finish well this year. Dominators losing 2 of his last 4 and Whipping Boys on a 3 game slide. Whipping Boys trails Dominators and Sasins in the money prize by 1 game. With his big win over Boomtown Brawlers last week, Irish put a lock both on his play-off hopes as well as the League Of Titans divisional crown.

#3 Iceman’s All Pro’s (9-3-0) vs #11 Talos Tritons (6-6-0)
Iceman is on a high after putting the hurt on THUNDER last week. It’s doubtful he’ll be able to climb any higher in the rankings before the end of the season. THUNDER & Irish both have significant point margins on him, so one or the other would have to lose out the rest of the season which is unlikely. Iceman can take solace though in the fact that he is the only team to have defeated both THUNDER and Irish this year, so will be able to take a good winning run into the playoffs. Iceman is a virtual lock for the playoffs. If any one of the 7-5 teams lose this week he is in. Talos is pretty much out of it. Though only 1 game out in contention most of the other 7-5/6-6 teams have a points edge. If Talos wins out the best they could for for is about 8th place. Still a tertiary playoff spot though.

#4 Boomtown Brawlers (7-5-0) vs #17 Bug’s Blasters (3-9-0)
Though Boomtown lost a battle or two with Irish last week, all is not lost. Boomtown still has a points advantage on most of the rest of the league. He needs to go at least 1-1 finishing the season to make the playoffs. The Blasters have been out of it for some time. The best they can do is annoy the other teams by beating them late in the season. His only real battle left is not being in last place.

#6 Dabears (7-5-0) vs #18 Southern Comfort (3-9-0)
Since defeating Iceman in week 10 DaBears have been on a slide. Dropping 2 straight to Sasins & Mythknight. Luckily the rest of the season looks shiny. Last place Southern Comfort is up next, then the occasionally dangerous Big Mama. He shouldn’t look to far ahead though. Both of these teams outscored him last week. Speaking of outscoring Southern Comfort was looking into the abyss last week. In a 7 way tie for worst losing streak in league history he pulled out of his dive just in time. Putting a hurting on the playoff and money prize hopes of division mate Superfreaks. Southern Comfort trails Bug’s Blasters by 75 points and doesn’t want to end the season in last place.

#7 Dominators (7-5-0) vs #8 The Wolfpack (6-6-0)
Dominators needs wins and right now. His injury ridden team has been floundering the past few weeks. A couple of lucky wins have kept him in it but he needs a real rally to finish off the season. The Wolfpack is hungry for the play offs. No better position to be in than to directly face the teams you need to bypass to get in. Though he wasn’t close enough against Boomtown he got it done vs Whipping Boys. If he can get past Dominators he should have an easy time of it against Superfreaks next week. Even if he finishes the season 8-6 though The Wolfpack needs help to get in. Someone will need to defeat Boomtown, Sasins, or DaBears for him to get in.

#9 Mythknight Maddness (6-6-0) vs #12 Big Mama’s House (5-7-0)
Mythknight needs a bit more help to get into the main playoffs than The Wolfpack. He needs Wolfpack to win this week while losing next week, and for someone to specifically defeat DaBears, who is the only team he has a definite points advantage on. It may be too late for him to hope for the main playoffs. Even if he doesn’t make it though he can still cement a bye week seed in the tertiaries. That would be made easier if Dominators can beat Wolfpack. All of that though is assuming Mythknight can win both of his next two. He has Big Ma this week who is a steady 200 point team then THUNDER to finish the season who has only lost twice. Big mama currently holds the leagues last playoff spot. She needs at least one more win this season to hang onto it and as many points as she can muster.

#13 Calming Aura (4-8-0) vs #15 Superfreaks (4-8-0)
Calming Aura has been tearing it up here at the end of the season. Scoring 290+ last week against Dominators. They’re the only 4-8-0 team that currently has a points advantage on Big Mama, though a slim advantage with just 7 points. All of the 4-8 teams are in the same boat. To make the tertiary playoffs they have to win out, and Big Mama has to lose at least 1 game. Plus they have to outscore Big Mama to varying degrees. Superfreaks trails Big Mama by 120. There is still one ray of hope left. If Talos Tritons Loses Both of her games all of the 4-8-0 teams have a chance.

#14 Kings Row Krushers (4-8-0) vs #16 Green Ninja’s (4-8-0)
Two will stand two will fall. The 4-8-0 teams all face each other this week. For them the playoffs start now. Win or go home from here on in. Like Calming Aura The Defending Champion Kings Row Krushers have poured it on late. Scoring 275 last week for a 90 point smack down on Bug’s Blasters. Unlike Calming Aura though who has Superfreaks & Southern Comfort, Kings Row has to first get by Green Ninja’s then the 3rd place Iceman. As we said though the first step is getting by Green Ninja’s. 5 weeks ago Green Ninja’s was looking good. They were 4-3 and in the playoff hunt. After a 5 game losing streak though their season is now in jeopardy. They end the season against Kings Row and Boomtown and need to win at least one to keep from being the 7 in a row losing streak kings!

Alright folks that’s it for week 12. Good luck!

Now that the league has been filled the auto draft will go sometime Wed afternoon. "I can't set an actual time for auto draft. I'll get hoem from work around 1:00 AM PST Wed Morning. When I set it, the draft will commence about 12 hours after that.

Point is if you're going to use your own custom draft order you have till tomorrow night to get in your custom pics. Or you can just leave it to the pro picks yahoo automatically defaults for you.

Once the draft is complete you may then pick up free agents and trade with other players.

I would highly siggest you guys make friends and alliances quickly in this league. Even if it's only each other you can rely on. Good trades are usually hard to come by. Because many don't know that much about football they're always afraid they're getting jipped since they don't know much about the players individually. As the weeks go by though they tend to pick out the good performers.

Many of the teams in the league will make multi deal temporary trades. Trading a player "on contract" to another team for a time.

For instance let's say I have two more really good wide recievers than I need. I may trade those players to you, for a certain period of time with the understanding that I'll get those players back from you.

This kind of trading is done in the league but there is nothing built into the system that says you have to honor such a deal. If you make this kind of trade it's at your own risk. The other player doesn't actually have to give you your players back. The only thing they actually risk losing is your trust. So you need to be careful who you trade with, or make sure you're not giving away something you can't afford to lose in your trades.

You are responsible for getting your players into position each week on time. If you don't think you're going to be able to ge to your PC in time to make roster changes and you know ahead of time let me know. As commisioner I have the ability to move your players around. So if you know you're going to be on vacation or something and you need me to make changes for you let me know ahead of time.

Smack talk is encouraged as long as you can keep it from getting ugly. Essentially you can use the forum rules for the site your on. "Most ugly smack talk is done on the Rust Monster forums as they don't have profanity rules. :) " Still... don't be mean.

For those who have not used Yahoo Fantasy system before I'll be posting more detailed instructions tomorrow when I have access to the sight again.

Good Luck

The Draft is complete. Chances are if you're reading this now and havn't checked your team yet, your're at least six teams behind on getting first crack at the free agents.

Get to Yahoo and pick up free agents before they're all gone. Of particular importance, "is that even a word importance..?" anyway. You need to pick up free agent defensive players. Most leagues don't use defensive players so the default draft doesn't even take them into consideration. So chances are the defensive players they did draft for you suck.

Once you get to your <My Team> page click on drop player and drop anyone on your defensive squad who's total fantasy points scored last year was less than 100. Also drop any players that have (IR) or (NA) next to thier name. Those players are either hurt or otherwise indesposed to the point where they won't be playing. Look into them first though. Some N/A players are simply contract hold outs. They'll play this year but are still as of post time in contract negotiations in real life.

On the offesive side of the ball, look at any players who scored less than 100 last year. A few positions you're pretty much stuck with. If your team drafted a second tight end (TE), that player is probably a 40-80 poinjt players. You probably won't find anythign better. You may want to trade him for a WR or RB from the free agent market. Players with no stats at all are usually rookies. I wouldn't nessearily just throw those away. A handful of rookies put up great numbers last year. Chances are though if you've never heard the guys name before he probably aint ****. Just toss him and pull up a free agent.

Oh another thing. If anyone has sent you a trade request there will be a note above your roster with the manager name that sent you the request. Hit the hot link for "Details" and it will take you to an accept/reject screen.

Waivers: The waivers are tie breakers for picking up players form the free agent market who were recently dropped. The lower your waiver number the higher your priority. Once you use a waiver your priority drops back down to 16 and everyone who was behind you moves up a space.

So,etime this weekend I will post up the first of the RP shows. This one being a predictions show based on everyone's projected team layout.

Lastly don't be afraid to ask for trades. The worst someone can say is no. Most of the teams I saw had an unbalanced draft. They either got too many WR's or too many RB's. Whipping Boys actually snaked a lo9t of good TE's, so if you can persuade her to hand oen over it might help you out.

PS: To find the free agents, hit the <Players> tab. his will take you to a sortable spread sheet with all the players in the NFL, that are not already on someone elses team.

Best tip I can give, is to pick the type of player you're looking for, then hit the link for Fantasy Points on the far right side. This will sort the players from best to worst based on the amount of fantasy points they scored last year. Tke a closer look at who you're picking up though. Those points are not always indicative of a good time this year. For instace the top player on the free agent market is Michael Vick. But considering he's probably sitting in a city jail right now he's not a good bet for fantasy points this year.

The following Teams are in need of some attention.

Pendleton Bulldogs
Green Ninjas
Weis Guys
Talos tritons
DragonBallz

You have about a week to drop the dead weight on your teams and pick up quality free agents. Week-1 matchups are right around the corner. If you need help figuring out the menu's just ask.

Here's a breakdown of the current team strengths based off of their current rosters. A handful of teams have not finished picking up free agents. This projection is based off the players totals from last year. It's a good enough for now picture of how these players will do this year.

To get these numbers I essentially totalled up the numbers your individual players picked p last year, divided it by 15, which is the number of games we have to play and added them all up,. Giving us a picture of what could be your avg score for each week assuming these players scored this well every week.

We see a few familiar faces in the top rung of players. Irish, THUNDER & Kings Row all won the league championship the last 3 years. Calming Aura is a new face in the top rung. Not only is he in the top rung of projected players he leads the pack in the preseason. We'll see how it turns out for him through the year.

There's just one surprise team in that second tier. Sapphire guard has a large points projection despite the fact that he hasn't traded up for better defensive players yet. Once he fixes his defense he could easily over take some of the higher rated teams. The rest of the pack in tier 2 were all power players last year at one point.

Tier 3 have some familiar names. These are all veteran teams. The draft wasn't necessarily kind to them it seems. A little luck may be needed to push them over the top.

All of the teams in the 4th tier are brand new to the league. None of them have fixed their defense as well, so the numbers shown are not really a good representation of thier real team strength. Though if they don't fix their teams it will be.

Calming Aura : 300.24
The Irish Fury : 280.74
THUNDER 276.83
Kings Row Krushers: 262.56

Green Ninja's : 253.8
Sasins : 251.61
Big Mama's House : 243.57
Sapphire Guard : 233.91

Whipping Boys : 230.09
Dominators : 227.81
Mythknight's Jester : 224.14
Talos Tritons : 215.56

Weis Guys : 208.69
Pendlton Bulldogs : 205.16
Xykon's Zombies : 195.66
DragonBallz : 162.11

Alright this is it. First game of the NFL season is tonight. That means you have till kick off of that game to get your picks in, and make sure your roster is set the way you want it.

In previous years you could move around anyone who's game has not started yet. That may be the case this year as well. I havn't seen any indication that it has changed. Thus if you have a player who doesn't play until Sunday yuo can still move him around on your roster. Until the start of his game on sunday. But if sunday comes you won't be able to put anyoen in his spot that has already played or who's game on sunday has already started.

Anyway it's still safest to have all of your picks done by at least thursday each week.

Week – 2 Pre-game Show

#1 Sasins (1-0-0) VS. #10 Kings Row Krushers (0-1-0)
In Week-1 Sasins surprised everyone by jumping out of the gate HARD! Their 269.61 is the teams second highest point total all time. The 135 point win over Big Mama’s was also the most dominate performance we’ve seen since 2005. No one posted a 100+ point win all last year. Sasins is now 2-0-0 vs Big Mama’s House lifetime.

Kings Row Krushers had a good game last week with 220.79 points but it wasn’t enough to overcome arch rival Talos Tritons 239.04. Along with THUNDER these are the only two teams to have participated in the league since it’s inception, and their rivalry runs deep. Although the Tritons extend their series lead four games to one over their rival, the Krushers still have that 2005 championship banner to hold over their heads.

Will the Krushers have enough in the tank to topple Sasins in Week-2? Despite both being in the league last year they did not face each other. So this will be a new match-up, a new book to open.

#2 Sapphire Guard (1-0-0) VS. #7 Whipping Boys (1-0-0)
Some may have been surprised at the performance of Sapphire Guard in week-1. We here at Fantasy Sports warned ya last week that this team would be a threat. And we were proven right. They put a 74.23 hurting on fellow new comer Weis Guys. This is a surprising win. Though the Guard is a second year team, Weis Guy is a 4 year vet coming off of a 2006 championship in two of his previous leagues from last year before joining us in the Jennex League. He knows how to play.

Whipping Boys fought off her arch rival “and younger brother” Dominators in what has got to be their best game ever. It was actually our game of the week. Both teams put up good numbers and Whip took the game by less than a quarter of a point. She is now 3-1 vs her longest running rival.

Sapphire Guard have cause to worry about next week. Their win in Wk-1 was fueled mostly on the surprisingly accurate and productive arm of one Eli Manning and his 51 fantasy points. Unfortunately the younger Manning brother was injured late in the game and has yet to take a full practice. This may leave the Guard QB duties in the hands of Tampa Bay’s Jeff Garcia who scored a much less than stellar 19 points last week.

#3 Calming Aura (1-0-0) VS. #8 Xykon’s Zombies (1-0-0)
In any league the #1 way to garner attention is to beat the commissioner’s team. In this league that means BEAT THUNDER! Boy did Calming Aura grab some attention in Wk-1. Handing THUNDER the most one sided butt whopping he’s ever taken. It has been cited multiple times already that this could be Calming Aura’s year. After that kind of performance it just might be. These two teams have a history stretching back 3 years. Calming Aura can take comfort in this win, the first in their 4 game series.

Xykon in all honesty got a lucky break in week-1. This being his first year he needed someone he could match up with so as to test his theories on an even keel. That’s exactly what he got in this game against DragonBallz. Both teams scored well under the 200 point barometer, but that doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters in head to head is getting more points than the guy you’re matched up with and that’s exactly what Xykon did.

To get another win though Xykon is going to need a Dramatic in crease in production. A good start would be logging in and fixing his defense. This game should be a cake walk for Calming Aura.

#4 Green Ninja’s (1-0-0) VS. #5 Mythknight’s Jester (1-0-0)
Like Calming Aura in 2005, last year Green Ninja’s had a trying but still respectable rookie season. Though he finished 6-8 he had some big games and was a real spoiler throughout the season. This year he was hoping for an easy opponent to work on the teams’ confidence. Though he did get that easy opponent in rookie team The Pendleton Bulldogs, he didn’t really need it as his 263.16 put him in elite company.

Mythknight on the other hand did not have an easy opponent. He faced the defending champion Irish Fury. The Irish came with it. Scoring 221.71. In the end that wasn’t enough to overcome a determined Mythknight team. Who rode Payton Manning’s 41 points to victory scoring 241.18. Mythknight draws even in the lifetime series with irish, the teams are now 1 & 1.

This will be one of two extremely important match ups for week-2. Both of these teams are favored to go to the play offs and both teams are pretty evenly matched. Green Ninja’s though has a score to settle. In last years match-up. Mythknight demolished the Ninja’s 241 to 67! Nearly 200 points. The match currently stands as the biggest one sided win in league history.

#6 Talos Tritons (1-0-0) VS. #11 Dominators (0-1-0)
It’s been some time since the Talos Tritons have been in the top half of the standings. Not since their Silver Cup finish in 2004. This year they hope to get back to those winnign ways. As we’ve highlighted earlier, they got the ball rolling by knocking off Kings Row in week-1. They now get a shot at 2-0 if they can get past Dominators.

Talos is slightly favored in this match-up. Although Dominators lost last week, they still scored high points against Whipping Boys. Dominators is ahead in their 3 year long lifetime series 2-1. Having lost to Talos in 2006, but winning both of their games in 2005.
Either team will make an impact with a win.

#9 The Irish Fury (1-0-0) VS #13 THUNDER (0-1-0)
Two teams who never thought they’d be in this position. Two weeks into the season and already their year may be on the line. THUNDER took a pounding against Calming Aura while Irish was upset by Mythknight. Last years #1 & #2 teams now face each other with the reality that one of them is going to start of the season 0-2!

Irish is the favorite in this game. Not only was he rated higher in the preseason, he out performed THUNDER by 30+ last week. Unless THUNDER make a big turn around this should be an easy win for Irish. THUNDER is 2-1 vs. The Irish Fury lifetime.

#12 Weis Guys (0-1-0) 249.24 VS. #14 Pendleton Bulldogs (0-1-0)
Weis Guys took a thumping vs. The Guard in week-1. It’s time to bounce back. Pendleton makes for a good match-up. Both teams scored about the same points last week. Both though are still slightly below the ideal 200 point margin. They both need to take a look at their rosters and see what worked and what didn’t. Anytime rookie teams meet that’s a win you must take.

** It’s actually possible that these two managers made teams then forgot all about the league. Neither has touched their team since creating them, and neither is responding to league Communications. They could both be walk over wins for the entire season. The commissioner may step in after week 2, to fill their roster with basic players.

#15 Big Mama’s House (0-1-0) VS. #16 DragonBallz (0-1-0)
It’s early in the season for a toilet bowl game yet… here we are. Big Mama & Dragonballz are at the bottom of the rankings.

Big mama last week honestly just had a stretch of bad luck. Her starters just didn’t want to score whle the folks on her bench were all superman. Some weeks that just happens to you. It’s a reminder though. Fantasy football isn’t just about picking the players who have the best average points. You also need to look at who your players are up against each week and make the best match up decisions. The wrong decisions costs Big Mama 100 points last week. Which would have turned her 133 into 233. Granted that still would have been a loss against her opponent, the league Leader Sasins but it would have put her 100 points higher on the power ranking. The difference between being ranked 9th and 15th.

DragonBallz has been asleep at the keyboard. He’s confused by the menu’s and needs apparently to be coddled through them like a baby. I think I’m going to call Green Ninja’s this week and see if that barbecue invitation still stands. Dragon DragonBallz along and see if I can hook them up as a tutor pairing.

Big Mama’s should win this match by at least 40 points.

Week – 2 Pre-game Show

#1 Sasins (2-0-0) VS. #14 Dominators (0-2-0)
Sasins edged out The Krushers last week in a high points shootout. One of the leagues highest total scoring games ever. “We might track that stat one day.” He now takes his #1 ranking and undefeated record in to face Rival team Dominators.

Dominators played a good game last week but was simply out muscled by Talos tritons and their 274 points scored. Prospects for a win this week are low. One more loss will Tie dominators for the leagues longest losing streak at 6 games. If ever he needs a reversal of fortune it’s now. Hope has not yet left Dominators they’ve had the toughest schedule of any team thus far.

Sasins is a strong favorite in this game. His first ever game in league was against Dominators. He lost by 50. He’ll be gunning for some payback this week.

#2 Calming Aura (2-0-0) VS. #6 The Irish Fury (1-1-0)
Calming Aura put up big numbers last week and rolled over the rookie Zombies team by more than 100 points. Widest win margin this year. Now after two relatively easy wins he has a true test coming up.

Wk-2 The Irish fury put another 70+ point beat down on THUNDER in route to setting a new league scoring record with 339.23 points. Blowing past the old record of 315 set last year by Iceman’s All Pro’s.

Who’s favored this week? It’s a toss up. The Irish have outscored Calming Aura by 15 points thus far, but can you count on Carson Palmer to throw 5 touchdowns every week? We said similar things about Chicago’s defense last year and they pulled down 50+ points a game….!

The two teams have not seen each other since 2005 when calming Aura won by 12.

#3 Talos Tritons (2-0-0) VS. #8 Sapphire Guard (1-1-0)

Hello Stranger. We haven’t seen Talos on the plus side of the ranking in a while. They started out last season pretty hot. Opening up 5-2, before going into a long downward spiral, ending the season 6-8. This year Talos has been tearing it up in points. So far they’ve gotten impressive wins against competitive teams. This week they’ll need to do it again.

After burning up the scoreboard in week-1 The Sapphire Guard went cold in Wk-2. Scoring only 170 against Whipping Boys, and taking their first loss of the season. Was that week-1 win just a fluke? Or was last week just a hiccup in the rookie teams season?

Talos Tritons is a strong favorite in this weeks game.

#4 Mythknight’s Jester (2-0-0) VS. #15 Weis Guys (0-2-0)
Mythknight is the King of Close! No one has more close games than Mythknight, and no one has won more close games than Mythknight. His latest shootout victim; Green Ninja’s whom he defeated last week by a mere 3 points.

Weis Guys met another noob team in Wk-2 and although he was able to improve on his Wk-1 performance so was his opponent. He lost to the Bulldogs 253 – 222.

Considering Weis Guys Improvement and Mythknight’s score from last week, the Jester may need to bring the spurs and gun belt; this has the makings of another close game.

#5 Whipping Boys (2-0-0) VS. #11 Pendleton Bulldogs (1-1-0)
Whipping Boys lived up to her name last week. Putting the Sapphire guard in their place with a 60 point win. Still undefeated she’s looking to keep the streak going against the newcomer Pendleton Bulldog’s.

The Bulldog’s got their first win last week against fellow newcomer Weis Guys. This week they get another shot at a veteran team.

Although Whipping Boys is the favorite it’s not by much. The Bulldog’s points have been respectable and they only trail Whip by 10 points in the power rankings. This could be a close one.

#7 Green Ninja’s (1-1-0) VS #13 THUNDER (0-2-0)
Green Ninja got well.. Ninja’d by Mythknight like so many others before him last week. A 3 point loss his always difficult to take but at least he scored good points keeping himself ahead in the power rankings. This week he has a match against an old friend in this meeting with THUNDER.

THUNDER got wooped on for the second straight week. In his defense his opponent broke the scoring record..! So I mean.. Damn !  Anyway THUNDER was able to show a marked improvement over his sub 200 performance in week 2. Putting up 265. Thirty Five more than Green’s 228. THUNDER is playing for a lot, trying to avoid the historic stamp of joining the 6 game losing streak teams in the record book.

Despite all of that Green Ninja’s is the favorite. He has 40 points on THUNDER in the power rankings. This is the second lifetime meeting between these two teams. THUNDER won the first meeting in 06 by 70.

#10 Xykon’s Zombies (1-1-0) VS. #11 Big Mama’s House (1-1-0)
Xykon had a bit of a set back last week. Receiving a 100+ point beat down by Calming Aura. Fortunately he’s getting a more bite sized morsel this week in Big mama’s House.

Speakign of Bite seized, Big Mama was able to feed on DragonBallz in week-2. Padding her record and hopefully getting some of the kinks out. This week she has a chance to continue her rebuilding while getting a win.

Games with evenly ranked teams are always a good sell. These two should be close but I expect Xykon will pull out the win.

#12 Kings Row Krushers (0-2-0) 249.24 VS. #16 Dragonballz (0-2-0)
The fact that Kings Row Krushers is 0-2 is no indicator of their strength as a team. They’ve had the toughest schedule over the first 2 weeks. When comparing their opponent s schedule. Only Dominators has had such a touch schedule. Well this week we’re throwing him a bone. Or rather a ball.

Dragonballz was pretty sad in Week-2. Scoring 120 points is just not going to get you anywhere. The team is in need of a major overhaul. The commissioner may need to step in to help in some capacity.

Kings Row should Crush the DragonBallz this week! In fact we guarantee it!

Week – 3

Another topsy turvy week in the NFL. Lot’s of previously unknown players are stepping up and performing. Many older big names are starting to show their age.

The league has a new #1 team. We go over a lot of close games this week; As well as a couple of really big games. At least 1 upset. Let’s take a look at weeks3-4.

Commentators Note:
Something I find kind of interesting. The divisions are pretty evenly matched at this point in the season.

New records set this week. Plus some of the streaks are in danger of toppling.

Week – 3 Pre-game Show

#1 Talos Tritons (3-0-0) VS. #4 Pendleton Bulldog’s (2-1-0)
Despite having one of the toughest schedules thus far Talos Tritons returns to the top spot. The Tritons lead the league for the first time since Week-13 2004. The Tritons have not gotten to this point by luck. This has been pure muscle. Their opponents have scored a combined 710 points and yet they are still on top.

The Bulldog’s have snapped back from that week 1 loss to Green Ninja’s by putting overpowering performances against strong Weis Guys and Whipping Boys. They put up 290+ points last week. Second only to the Tritons 320.

These two high scorers meet for the first time ever in this weeks match up. They’ll need all the points they can get.

#2 Calming Aura (3-0-0) VS. #11 Green Ninja’s (1-2-0)
Calming Aura has made it clear that this year they’re not playing around. They opened the season with wins over the #1 & #2 teams from last years regular season. Tossing n a 100+ point win over a rookie to boot. This is a team to be feared.

Green Ninja’s has gone through two heart breakers in a row. Losing in the game of the week two weeks in a row. If there’s ever been a time to bounce back and put up numbers this is it. He’ll need to increase his average points but a bit of a margin in order to take down Calming Aura.

This will be the second meeting between these two teams. They met in Green Ninja’s very first game in week-1 last week. Green Ninja’s shocked the league by winning that game over what some thought was going to be a strong Calming Aura team by 30.

#3 Sasins (3-0-0) VS. #9 Sapphire Guard (1-2-0)

Sasins slipped a bit in points this week, but was fortunate to be facing a struggling Dominators team. They remain undefeated but have shown a bit of vulnerability.

Sapphire Guard Showed us the huge numbers in week 3 that he showed in week-1. He put up what would normally be a winning 280+ points. Unfortunately his opponent the newly crowned 1st place Talos Tritons scored 320. Still the Guard showed that their poor week-2 performance may have been a fluke.

First meeting between these teams, Sasins is a slight favorite to win.

#5 Whipping Boys (2-1-0) VS. #6 Mythknight’s Jester (2-1-0)
Whipping Boys put up a good fight last week but was overwhelmed by the 290 scored by the Pendleton Bulldog’s last week. This week she once again takes on Mythknight.

Mythknight is still scratching his head over last weeks game. Going into Monday night he trailed Weis Guys by just 9 points. Weis Guys had no one left to play while Mythknight had just a single receiver to go. He needed 10 points from that receiver. He got 10 points from that receiver. But when the dawn came on Tuesday it was learned that yahoo had a late night scores correction and Weis guys was awarded another 10 points somewhere in his roster. So rather than have another single digits win Mythknight falls by 8. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

This is the 4th meeting between these teams stretching back to 2005. Mythknight leads the series 2 games to 1.

#7 Xykon’s Zombies (2-1-0) VS. #8 The Irish Fury (1-2-0)
Seems most of the teams in the top 10 are facing each other this week.

The Zombies had a good game in week 3. They scored a very good 240 points vs. a struggling sub 200 Big Mama’s house. This was the first week Xykon had gotten over 200 points. They’ve now managed 2 wins and are looking to cement their hold on a .500 + record. They draw the defending champions Irish Fury.

The Irish took a bit of a beating last week at the hands of Calming Aura. Their lone performance against THUNDER aside they’ve been scoring on the low side of the 200’s in their other games. This week he needs to pick up the pace against the Zombies.

Having outscored Xykon by 175 points thus far Irish is heavily favored despite having the lesser record. His high point total could bump him up a few spots if he can just get a win.

#10 King’s Row Krushers (1-2-0) VS. #14 Big Mama’s House (1-2-0)
The Krushers got a scare last week. In desperate need of a win they had an easy game last week against DragonBallz and nearly gave it away. Squeaking out a meager 191-186 victory. The Krushers have learned a lesson never to take anyone for granted. This week they Draw Big Mama’s House once again.

Two weeks in a row Big Mama draws the #10 team. She may be able to get a win this time. Her team is still struggling to stay above the 200 point mark.

Had these two teams met last week The Krushers would have won by less than half a point. This weeks game is drawing even with the bookies. The Krushers defeated Big Mama last year in her very first game 206-193, Both teams will need to do better than that.

#12 THUNDER (1-2-0) VS. #13 Weis Guys (1-2-0)
THUNDER eaked out their first win of the season with a .40 point win against Green Ninja’s last week. While Weis Guys got a bit of help from the refs in a close one against Mythknight.

Both teams need this win against a comparable team. Neither team despite their wins last week are doing particularly well. They simply need to win this game, and start moving forward.

#15 Dominators (0-3-0) VS #16 DragonBallz (0-3-0)
Another toilet bowl game. After this one though there will be only 1 team with no wins.

Dominators joined infamous company last week. Having lost their 6th straight game stretching back to the end of last season they are now in a 7 way tie with teams from all the way back to 2004 who have 6 losses in a row. Only thing worse than being tied with those 6 is to be the only team in league history to have lost 7 in a row. This win is for salvaged pride. As well as having any hope of salvaging their season.

DragonBallz almost got a win last week. An unexpected resurgence from Donovan McNabb kicked in 51 points into the DragonBallz coffers. Can he do it again?

Dominators scored only 150 points last week. Though he did leave 50 points on his bench. If he can make those adjustments this week he should get a win. DragonBallz is still fueled by luck so far. Until dragonBallz actually beats someone he will not be favored by the bookies.

Week – 4

Teams are starting to feel the sting of bye week woes. In Week 4 many NFL teams are the first to have a bye week. This caused many fantasy owners to flounder as they were forced to turn to their second or in some cases third string players.

Three teams Talos Tritons, Calming Aura, & Sasins remain undefeated. We’ll see how long they can hold out. Many strong teams have already taken 2 or even 3 loses. 900+ point teams Kings Row Krushers & Sapphire Guard have 2 and 3 losses. Irish fury is in third place in overall points yet has two losses already. You can’t afford to give away games, particularly to the weaker teams.

Overall average scores were down this week. They should stay low for some time as the NFL teams go through their bye weeks, forcing teams to go to their bench.

Let’s get to the awards.
New records set this week. Plus some of the streaks are in danger of toppling.

Week – 5 Pre-game Show

#1 Talos Tritons (4-0-0) VS. #4 Mythknight’s Madness (3-1-0)
The Tritons cruised to an easy win in week-4. Despite the games hype the Bulldog’s collapsed. The Tritons defeated them buy more than 135 points. Setting a new win margin high for the season. This week the Tritons draw another tough opponents. The Kings of the Drama game. Mythknight.

Mythknight got the job done last week against Whipping Boys who struggled through bye week difficulties. Unable to get over the 200 mark Mythknight cruised in for an easy 40 point win.

Having outscored Mythknight by 45 points on average each week; Talos is definitely favored to win this match up. You can never be sure though when facing Mythknight. Teams just score low when he’s the opponent.

Strangely enough these two teams did not meet at all last year. In 2005 Mythknight did defeated Talos twice during the regular season on his way to a bronze medal finish in the playoffs.

#2 Calming Aura (4-0-0) VS. #14 Weis Guys (1-3-0)
Calming Aura cruised to a relatively easy victory in week-4 against Green Ninja’s. His 50 point win and 226 point total keeps Calming Aura in the running for the top spot. This week he should be able to cruise on in against Weis guys.

Weis Guys was pretty much absent in Week-4. His team was in disarray and he barely hit the 100 point mark. This should have been a week to get an easy win against THUNDER who only scored 150.

Short of a miracle Calming Aura should walk away with this one. Some think a new win margin record could be set off this game next week.

#3 Sasins (3-0-0) VS. #8 Pendleton Bulldog’s (2-2-0)

Sasins found himself in a real gunfight with the Saphire Guard last week. In the end he was able to edge out another victory. 215 to 213. He slipped a bit further behind in total points but in the end as long as you keep winning games your total score doesn’t matter too much.

The Bulldog’s got creamed. Tritons ran the margin on them up to 135 points. If they want to win games they’re going to have to do much better than 112 total points.

A heavy Favorite Sasins should also run the score up on the Bulldog’s this week.

#5 The Irish Fury (2-2-0) VS. #2 Green Ninja’s (1-3-0)

Whenever the Irish Fury have NOT put up the best overall score in a week they’ve lost. Looks like the teams management has just decided that being the top scorer every week is the only real solution. Their 260 left Xykon’s Zombies 201 in the dust last week. How will they do next week against The Ninja.

Hopefully it will be better than the Ninja’s fared against Calmign Aura. After heart breaker loses to Mythknight & THUNDER the Ninja’s seemed a bit demoralized. They need to regain their focus and get back into the game. 176 points is definitely not going to cut it against a powerhouse team like the Fury.

The Ninja’s would know. In their one and only meeting from last year The Irish Fury trounced them, 307 to 204. In all honesty the Fury are currently favored by nearly that much again.

#6 Kings Row Krushers (2-2-0) VS. #10 Xykon’s Zombies (2-2-0)

Winners of two in a row the Krushers seem to be back on track. 216 points and a good 40 point win over big Mama. A win over Xykon can put another notch in this veterans belt.

Xykon put up respectable numbers last week but still took a bit of a throttling at the hands of the Irish Fury. He’ll need to get his roster in order if he wants to get it done this week. If he can get the win this week he has a soft dip in his schedule for the next couple of weeks.

The Krushers are a sizeable favorite to win this match, having outscored the Zombies by about 25 points a week.

#7 Whipping Boys (2-2-0) VS. #9 THUNDER (2-2-0)
Whip was smacked around a bit by the bye week scheduling in week-4, missing the chance to take down Mythknight. She has no such trouble this week as she prepares to face THUNDER once again.

THUNDER was in the same boat as Whip last week. With 5 bye week players they had no actual options to put in. As their entire bench started for them. Despite that they were fortunate to draw a weak team and managed a win while scoring only 150 points. They’ll need to do much better to get by Whipping Boys.

This will be the first time Whipping Boys has been favored to beat THUNDER. Having failed to do so in their two previous meetings. With her bye week players back in the line up she should have an easy time of it.

#11 Sapphire Guard (1-3-0) VS. #16 DragonBallz (0-4-0)

It’s been a tough opening for Saphire Guard. Their opponents combined record up to this point is 12-4. So despite raking up 935 total points “5th best in the league” they’re currently sitting at 1-3. That’s ok though. Everyone faces everyone else once. So the schedules are even. Keep scoring big points and eventually the schedule will work back around in your favor.

Case in point. DragonBallz hasn’t won a game yet. They’re struggling to even break 100 points let alone 200. Sapphire Guard pretty much gets a free win here. Time to focus on scoring points.

DragonBallz really doesn’t’ stand a chance this week. The Guard by 110!

#13 Dominators (1-3-0) VS #15 Big Mama’s House (1-3-0)

Dominators just about got their act back together last week. Scoring 198 total points would have beaten many of the other teams.

Big Mama on the other hand is floundering. She’s hoping that a group of trades made this week with THUNDER & Sasins will help shore up some of the holes injuries have blown in her roster.

This week both teams get a chance to prove they can beat someone besides DragonBallz
Dominators won their sole previous meeting in 2006 by 68 points.

Week – 5

This week the haves and have nots have started to become apparent. By now you should have scored over 1000 points. This signifies an average score of 200 points which is right around where you want to be.

Mythknight made a power move this week, Talos takes her first loss, Green Ninja’s & Saphire Guard stay alive, while THUNDER and Kings Row get over .500.

We also have a new #1 team. Calming Aura tops the rankings for the very first time, both by points and by strength of record.

Week – 6 Pre-game Show

#1 Calming Aura (5-0-0) VS. #10 Whipping Boys (2-3-0)
Calming Aura took a firm hold of the #1 spot this week. His point lead over the only other undefeated team Sasins is sizeable. At least 100+. Unless he loses a game he should hang on to the top spot for some time.

Whipping Boys fell a bit short last week. Disappointing play from her QB and negative points scored by a couple of defensive men wasted a 41 point effort from the Atlanta Falcons Defense. This week she needs the team to perform better.

Calming Aura has not shown himself to be unbeatable. It’s all about scoring the good points on the right day. This is the second meeting between these teams. Calming aura demolished Whipping Boys by 90 points the first time around.

#2 Sasins (5-0-0) VS. #4 Mythknight’s Jester (4-1-0)
Sasins was able to knock off another opponent last week. Knocking off an under performing Pendleton Bulldog’s by 60 points. This week they have another match against an old rival.

Mythknight is our early season giant killer. Having knocked off the number 1 team last week, they’re going for #2.

These two met twice in 2006, Including the playoffs. Sasins won both previous meetings by a combined score of less than 25 points. Will the third time be the charm for Mythknight?

#3 Talos Tritons (4-1-0) VS. #6 THUNDER (3-2-0)

The Tritons are still trying to get a handle on what happened last week. Though they did catch Mythknight on his best week so far, they themselves had their worse, with a pedestrian 185 points. Will they bounce back or continue to flounder.

THUNDER seems to be turning his season around. A couple of free agents, and some recent trades seem to have gotten his house back in order. The win over Whipping Boys was a good one. We’ll see if the win streak lasts or if he has just been eating up weaker teams.

Every time these two teams get together it makes news. A repeat of the leagues very first Fantasy Bowl title game from 2004. This is the team Talos Tritons fans love to hate. The Tritons for some reason just can’t beat THUNDER. Who now leads their lifetime series 6-0. Will the curse be broken this week, or will THUNDER make it 7.

#5 Kings Row Krushers (3-2-0) VS. #10 Dominators (1-4-0)

192 was good enough for the Krushers to put away Xykon last week. He will still need to generate more points per game though. In our round robin format it’s only possible to have 1 undefeated team. Expect the play off push to come down to high point tie breaks.

Dominator’s took a spanking from Big Mama’s House last week. Both teams made trades last week that brought up their over all power, but bye weeks and bad choices left a lot of their new points on the bench.

This will be the third meeting between these two teams lifetime. They’re 1-1-0 since 2005.

#7 The Irish Fury (2-3-0) VS. #14 Weis Guys (1-4-0)
At press time Irish was favored to win his mat last week with Green Ninja’s. By the time kick off came around though the betting had swung in the other direction. What did the bookies know that we didn’t?

Wies Guys actually put in a good performance last week. His 218 would have beaten most of the other teams last week. Unfortunately he was up against the weeks leader Calming Aura who scored 265. I hate when that happens.

So far Weis Guys has won every 3rd game. He did out score The Fury last week. Let’s see who brings it home.

#8 Sapphire Guard (2-3-0) VS. #13 Big Mama’s House (2-3-0)

The Guard got a free win last week against DragomBallZ, but it was their 220 points that really kept them alive. He should be able to milk another lower performing team this week with Big Mama.

The Win over Dominators wasn’t exactly pretty but it was still a win. Now that her starting QB is back from the bye week Big Mama should be able to put up respectable points again.

#9 Green Ninja’s (2-3-0) VS. #Xykon’s Zombies (2-3-0)

Following a good win over The Irish Fury; Green Ninja’s look to continue their rebound.
They were on a 3 game slump but seem ot have their feet back under them.

Xykon is in the midst of a 2 game slide. He’s also shy a few points. He needs to take advantage of these chances to steal games from good teams.

Due to average scores the Ninja’s are slightly favored in this match.

#11 Pendleton Bulldog’s (2-3-0) VS #16 DragonBallz (0-5-0)

The Bulldog’s got slapped around a bit last week. Dropping by 70 to Sasins. This week they[‘re a practical lock to get to .500 as they face the embarrassing DragonBallz.

Pound for Pound DragonBallz has got to be the worst team we’ve ever had. They, no they haven’t broken Langsuir’s record for least point scored but they shouldn’t even be close. The points system we use today is much higher than what we used in 2004. Back then if you scored 100_ points you were on fire.

Current News:

Week – 6

And then there was 1. Thanks to Mythknight the giant killer Calming Aura stands alone as the only undefeated team so far. Only 1 serious threat to him coming up in the next 3 weeks, so unless Sasins or Kings Row can knock him off he has a good shot at toppling the leagues win streak record.

Mythknight goes two weeks in a row knocking off undefeated teams and has now moved up to the #2 spot.

Talos & Sasins both drop a game, while former champions THUNDER, Kings Row Krushers, & Irish all show signs of life moving up to the 5th, 6th, & 7th spots.

In Division news the LOT & RuM divisions now hold 6 of the top 7 spots.

DragomBallz joins the ranks of the often defeated. He has now tied the league record for consecutive losses, which is now an 8 way tie with 6 losses in a row.

Week – 7 Pre-game Show

#1 Calming Aura (6-0-0) VS. #4 Talos Tritons (4-2-0)
Another strong win for Calming Aura this week. Dispatching Whipping Boys by 80 points. This week he’ll face his toughest challenge of the season.

Talos Tritons despite losing her last two scored well in both games and has the second highest total points on the year so far. If anyone is going to bloody Calming Aura this will be the week it happens.

From a history standpoint, these teams have met twice over the past 2 years. With both teams taking 1 game a piece.

#2 Mythknight’s Jester (5-1-0) VS. #16 DragonBallz (0-6-0)

After getting his revenge for a playoff loss to Sasins last year, the giant killer should get to take a break this week as he faces DragonBallz.

If there was any time for DragonBallz to get his first win this is it. One more loss and he’ll be alone as the first and only team to ever lose 7 in a row.

#3 Sasins (5-1-0) VS. #5 THUNDER (4-2-0)

A bad bye week had Sasins falling flat against Mythknight. He’s having no such trouble this week, and is hoping to get his first win against THUNDER. Sasins needs this win, THUNDER is charging now and the more losses you can pile up on other top teams the better.

If THUNDER plays this week like he did last week, it won’t matter too much what Sasins brings. His 303 points was the first top flight performance from THUNDER for the season. Showing that the Thundah is definitely back. This is a win he really needs.

THUNDER won their 1st and only match up in 2006.

#6 Kings Row Krushers (4-2-0) VS. #8 Sapphire Bulldogs (3-3-0)

Despite getting a win last week the Krushers still lost a spot due to higher point totals from Talos and THUNDER. He needs a win this week or he’ll drop further.

Pendleton has a much higher point total than his record would lead you to believe. A win this week along with a little help from Sasins against THUNDER should move the Bulldog’s up at least 2 spots.

#7 The Irish Fury (3-3-0) VS. #11 Whipping Boys (2-4-0)
The Fury came with it last week. 241 points was more than enough to put away Weis Guys who can’t seem to put together two good weeks in a row. He is highly favored to do a similar job on Whipping Boys.

Whipping Boys got over 200 last week but it still wasn’t enough as Calming Aura once again ran up to the high 200’s rolling on with a 280 point win.

The Fury needs to be careful here. The team as a whole has proven to be streaky, while Whipping Boys can score points on a good week.

This is the third lifetime meeting between these teams. Irish leads the series 2 games to 1.

#9 Pendleton Bulldog’s (3-3-0) VS #13 Big Mama’s House (2-4-0)

Pendleton got a break last week. They stumbled badly, scoring just 151 points, but DragonBallz responded with just 144, allowing Pendleton to limp out of there with a win. Those are always good wins.

Big Mama almost got to 200 but it would not have mattered, Sapphire Guard seems to be back in top form dropping 276 on her.

Pendleton will need to do much better than last week in order to get a win against big Mama. Big Mama is currently favored by 10 points.

#10 Xykon’s Zombies (3-3-0) VS. #14 Dominators (1-5-0)

Xykon struggled last week but not as badly as Green Ninja’s. The zombies won while only scoring 189 points. They’ve got a chance to make it two in a row this week, and get over the .500 mark at the half way point of the season.

Dominators, wants to just get something going. This has been a disappointing year so far. A playoff spot is almost out of the question at this point. So at best it’s fun to play spoiler to other teams. Just “don’t finish last” seems to be the motto here.

#12 Green Ninja’s (2-4-0) VS. #15 Weis Guys (1-5-0)
Green is once again scratching his head. This was supposed ot be a competitive year for him. But he’s losing to teams he’s not supposed to be losing too. The Bye week hurt bad last week. Dropped one he probably could have won on any other week. This week he can’t falter.

Weis Guys has just the one phantom win which we still can’t explain. He needs every chance he can get. The way Green Ninja’s has been playing lately he’s got a good shot at a win.

Current News:

Week – 8

Took the week off last week. But we’re back with our mid season review.

So close and yet so far. The big news in league play right now is Calming Aura and his 8 game winning streak. In the past two weeks former league leaders Talos tritons and Sasins both had opportunities to knock off Calming Aura. In week-7 Talos Tritons left 80 points on their bench. Numbers that would have led to a strong win. In Week-8 Sasins and Calming Aura both had Bye Week problems. Neither team scored over 200. It was Sasins though who got the worst of it. Two of his starting players were put on IR at the last minute. Leaving two empty spots in his rotation. Calming Aura snuck away with a 3 point victory.

Now his 1 game away from breaking the win streak record THUNDER laid down two years ago. No team has ever won more than 9 games in a row. Calming Aura’s next two opponents don’t seem up to the task. Unless Calming Aura is set a pun by plagues he should walk right through DragonBallZ and Big Mama’s House. Setting a new record and setting up another power match against Kings Row Krushers in week 11.

In other news Rust Monster dominance continues. Rust Monster currently holds 3 of the 4 championship play off spots. If the other divisions plan on breaking in there they need to pile up some losses on the Rust Monster Crew. In Week 7 dragonBallz finally broke the 3 year old record for most consecutive losses when he wracked up his 7th in a row. The record was originally set by Langsuir’s Ghosts back in 2k3/2k4 season. Since then the feat has been tied by 7 other teams. Dragon Ballz now stands alone as the as the worst team ever. He tacked on one more loss in week 8.

And last but not least I would like to thank GregPAJA, Charlesheiny, & Krevlin_j for agreeing to jump in late and take over the management of DragonBallZ, Pendleton Bulldog’s & Weis Guys. We have not yet made contact with the original manager of Weis Guys so he can release ownership of his team, but hopefully we’ll get that done for you Krevlin before the end of the week. These 3 are new to fantasy football and signed up too late at Yahoo. Fortunately the new feature allows you to invite a co-owner to manage a team. So they get to learn the ropes with no real pressure to win, look for all three teams to try and be spoilers.

Play Off Review:
The hunt for the play offs begins this week. There are now 7 games remaining on the schedule. The Play Offs are split into two brackets. The championship round cosists of the top 4 finishers from the regular season. Broken down first off of record, then off total points as a tie break. A two round tournament will produce the 1st through 4th place finishers. Only the 1st 3 places win a prise. So to medal you need to win at least once in the tournament.

The 5th through 8th place finishers at the end of the season go to a consolation tournament. They will run through the same style of tournament to determine 5th through 8th place.

9th through 16th place your season will be over at that point.

At this point in the season if you’re not at least .500 you’re probably out of the championship round. You would probably have to run the table while the top teams took multiple losses to get in. Competition for a top 8 spot though is still pretty tight. Just about everyone other than DragonBallZ has a legit chance of making the top 8.

The Championship Favorites:
#1 Calming Aura 8-0 : What can we say. No one has beaten them yet. And they only have 4 teams on the schedule who have legitimate chances of defeating them. Worst case scenario he could end the season 11-4 Which would probably still get him in.

#2 Mythknight 7-1 : Mythknight has 5 teams with good shots at defeating him. He could end the season 9-6. This would not be a good position when you consider he’s between 100 and 200 points behind the other leading teams. He can’t tie he needs to win by record. He needs to win these big games.

#3 THUNDER & #4 Kings Row Krushers 6-2, THUNDER is in generally the same boat as Mythknight. He has a balanced schedule and just needs to win more than he loses to end out the season. The Krushers are in a bit more danger. 6 of the last 7 teams he has to face are contenders. No other team will have as much to say about the playoff picture than the Kings Row Krushers.

Commentators Note:
#5 The Irish Fury & #6 Sasins: One is on the way up, one looks to be on the way down. Some good free agent work and a softer schedule has put The Irish fury back in the hunt. He’s won 3 in a row and has a relatively soft schedule to end the season. Sasins team has had trouble the last few weeks with injuries and bye’s. The bye trouble should be done now. A couple of free agents or trades and he should be back in top form. He also has a mediocre schedule over the last 7. To start off they play each other this week.

#7 Talos tritons, #8 Sapphire Guard, #9 Green Ninja’s
The rest of the championship contenders need to win games and need to win them now. Talos is on a 4 game slide. She needs to bounce back and get her house in order. A much softer sceduel over the second half will help. Sapphire Guard is the one to really watch out for. Now under new management he’s been without defensive players all year. He has probably the best offensive line up coming out of the draft. Now that he’s picked up a full roster of 79-90 point defensive players this is your sleeper favorite for the second half of the season. Green Ninja’s has lost some very close games. He’s looking good though as his 300 + performance from a couple weeks back prove he is capable of beating anyone in the league.

Let’s get to the awards.

Week – 7 Pre-game Show

Due to time constraints we’ll only be listing the “games to watch” this week. We’ll be back to the regular show next week.

#1 Calming Aura (8-0-0) VS. #16 DragonBallz (0-8-0)
The only significance to this game is rather either teams streak will be broken. This would be the greatest upset in league history if it were to happen.

#2 Mythknight’s Jester (7-1-0) VS. #4 Kings Row Krushers (6-2-0)

It’s as simple as this. Mythknight wants to hold his spot. The Krushers want to take it. The Krushers trail Mythknight by100 points, and they Trail THUNDER y 100. so they’d need a ridiculously strong performance to go along with their win to over take them this week. Beating Mythknight though will most likely put the three teams tied in record at the very least. And set him up to move further up the leader. The Krushers can not afford to lose to Mythknight this week. It will make him vulnerable to the teams below him snapping at his low point heels.

A loss will most likely push Mythknight out of the #2 slot. THUNDER should beat Big Mama’s House and has Mythknight on Points. To keep his spot Mythknight needs to keep winning games.

#5 The Irish fury (5-3-0) VS. #6 Sasins (5-3-0)
Every game form here on out is important for these two teams. Especially games against other contenders. There’s no better way to move up than to directly defeat the team you’re trying to pass.

Another important aspect of this game revolves around the Mythknight vs. Krushers match up. The Irish have a large points lead on the Krushers. So if they win and the Krushers lose Irish will move up into the 4th playoff spot. Sasins also has a slight points lead on the Krushers and he could do the same thing.

The loser could drop a spot though, if Talos beats Green Ninja’s in the last watch list game. They’ll almost definitely drop below Sapphire Guard who is the favorite to defeat Weis Guys.

#7 Talos Tritons (4-4-0) VS. #9 Green Ninja’s (4-4-0)

It’s just about win or go home time for these two teams. They both need this win and they both need it bad. Recovering from 4-5 to make the championship round at this point would be difficult without help form spoiler wins from the lower teams.

A win by Green Ninja’s will push him up into 8th. Talos needs all the wins she can get. Her high point total though put’s her in better stead. With a win here she should draw just about even with Sapphire Guard somewhere around 6th or 7th place.

Current News:

Week – 9

The teams are starting to balance out now. Most of the players worth picking up are now assigned to teams. Only two teams seem to be without managers. Xykon’s zombies & Weis Guys. Their managers have disappeared. As commissioner I am running their teams on basic auto pilot. They can’t make trades or pick up free agents. All that can be done for them is to swap out players on their bench for starters with injuries or bye weeks. These two have become the new walk over teams. As they struggle to even top 150 each week. These easy wins have an impact on others final record.

Play Off Review:
We saw a few shifts in the play off hunt since last week. Talos Tritons sapphire Guard and The Irish Fury all moved up with wins this week. While Kings Row Krushers, Sasins, & Green Ninjas all lost ground.

Pendleton Bulldogs made a bit of noise this week with a large win. Along with Green Ninja’s they are currently 4-5. At first glance that looks like they’re out of the playoff hunt, but with many of the top teams playing each other over the final 8 weeks, you could see a team with 5 losses possibly make it in. It’s a long shot though. They have a real chance of at best making the consolidation tournament.

Two of the really big games this week definitely lived up to their hype. The Irish Fury took a highly contested 254-232 win over Sasins. The loss dropped Sasins to 8th place. The win moved Irish Fury up into the championship ranks to 4th place. Replacing division mate Kings Row Krushers. The Krushers on the other hand suffered a narrow 9 point loss to Mythknight. Pushing them down to 5th place.

Talos Tritons also defeated Green Ninja’s, keeping her own hopes of making the championship tournament alive.

The Championship Favorites:
#1 Calming Aura 9-0 : Still marching on with their season undefeated streak intact. It’s doubtful anyone will be able to knock Calming Aura out of the playoffs.

#2 Mythknight 8-1 : Mythknight got a very important win this week. Putting more distance between himself and another top contender with his win over Kings Row Krushers.

#3 THUNDER 7-2 : Thunder got it done last week against big Mama but faces the 6-3 Kings Row Krushers this week. 4 of THUNDER’s last 6 opponents are 250+ point teams. He needs every win he can get. But defeating the Krushers now will put some more space between them. Giving him a cushion in case something bad happens later.

#4 The Irish Fury & #5 Kings Row Krushers 6-3, The Irish Fury have crawled back up form the dead. Now holding the #4 spot after a good win last week over Sasins. He should have an easy week facing DragonBallz this week. The Krushers should consider this weeks match against THUNDER a must win. He has to face the top 4 teams in consecutive weeks. He’s already 0-1. The Krushers control their own destiny for the rest of the season. They need to at the very least split these 4 games.

Let’s get to the awards.

Week – 10 Pre-game Show

#1 Calming Aura (9-0-0) VS. #12 Big Mama’s House (3-6-0)
This should be an easy one for Calming Aura. His place is the playoffs is nearly a lock. Just a few more wins should guarantee it. This week though it’s about the win streak. One more win and they stand along with the longest winning streak in league history. They are currently tied with 05-06 THUNDER with 9 wins in a row.

Big Mama is pretty much out of the playoffs. Best she can hope for is to steal some games and play spoiler. This is her week to make an impact. These teams met once in 2006. Big Mama won that game by 14 points.

#2 Mythknight’s Jester (8-1-0) VS. #14 Dominators (2-7-0)

Mythknight got a great win last week. He should be able to coast a bit this week aganst Dominators. Don’t sleep though. Dominators has had a lot of trouble with injuries this year, but should have a full roster going in this week.

In 14th place Dominators is in spoiler mode. Playing for pride and knocking off the big dog teams when they take him for granted.

#3 THUNDER (7-2-0) VS. #5 Kings Row Krushers (6-3-0)
THUNDER has some big games coming up, but few bigger than this one. As we said in the lead in show, this win would put a cushion between him and The Krushers. A must needed Cushion. Especially considering The Irish Fury is hot on his heels.

#4 The Irish Fury (6-3-0) VS. #16 DragonBallz (0-9-0)

Irish is sitting pretty this week. He got it done against Sasins now he gets a walk through game while the two teams around him knock each other about. His money should be on the Krushers. Both as a strategy move as well as a division mate. Due to his points lead over both Kings Row Krushers & THUNDER a Krushers win will put him up to 3rd place.

DragonBallz just needs a win.

#6 Talos Tritons (5-4-0) VS. #15 Weis Guys (0-9-0)
Talos got it done last week. Now she just needs to settle down and not choke against the manager less Wise Guys. A win by THUNDER should push her into 5th place this week. Just as important as the win though is her total points. She only leads the 5-4 Sapphire guard by 30 points.

Weis Guys isn’t even reading this. :p

#7 Sapphire Guard (5-4-0) VS. #10 Pendleton Bulldogs (4-5-0)
Sapphire Guard has his sights set on the championship tournament but better not look past this weeks opponent. The GITP division lead is on the line.

Pendleton has not given up on the championship rounds. The 251 points they scored last week in their win means they can beat anyone any week.

#8 Sasins (5-4-0) VS. #9 Green Ninja’s (4-5-0)
This is familiar territory for these two teams. Both teams last year were hovering around .500 at the half way point. They met in week 7 and green Ninja’s won it. Sasins though was the one to finish the season strong and make the championship round.

They’re in the same boat this week. Time to get wins.

#11 Whipping Boys (3-6-0) VS. #15 Xykon’s Zombies (2-7-0)
A bottom rung game. Both teams playing to not be in last place. Bragging rights on the line. Plus the chance of making a good showing and scaring their opponents for next week.
