20+ HD Demons for Extract Demonic Essence?

So you need a demon to have at least the same HD as the Caster Level of the item you are creating. For an epic game, what sort of demons could you use? Would class levels work just as well when combined with a lower fiend?

I thought demons were only 3 types of chaotic evil outsiders, the tana'ari the obyrith and the loumaras. Can infernals qualify as such?
