Situation:

Player managed to convince a small tribe of lizardfolk (some 50-odd standard warriors) that he was the prophet for their dragon god. Party is currently level 10 and has gained the favor of many of the humans, elves, and dwarves living in the region.

What do? (Crafty ideas, funny ideas, they're all welcome.)

The lizardfolk could slowly loose faith in the prophet. The prophet could be dramatically revealed as false by a rival for power who then turns the tribe against the party. That one could also occur after the prophet actually works towards foretelling the future (though perhaps not from a dragon deity). The prophet could use this influence to get the tribe to aid the party in a great battle (Return of the Jedi). The prophet could pick a successor who must first go on a great journey (Willow). The prophet could use this influence to have the lizardfolk form an alliance with the humans and elves (assuming dwarves don't bother with swamps and lizardfolk don't bother with mountains). The lizardfolk could turn out to be guarding a lost place of power, whether they know it or not (Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance).

Convince the lizards that their god wants them to wear clown makeup and rainbow wigs as a sign of faith and loyalty.

Create a new religious ceremony that involves them doing the Carameldansen.

Have them move their entire village into a series of interconnected tree houses so that they'll be closer to the sky.

Make a new sport that involves them slapping a ball around with fish. Fishball.

Have them build a casino so that they can cheat tourists and build a horde worthy of a dragon. A bank also works.

Turn them into a commune of hipster artists.

Teach them wizardry and upstage those snooty elves who think they're so great.

Make them Communist and start a fantasy cold war.

Little does the PC know the lizard folk have a plethora of rules and obligations for their prophets.

Prophecies told under the willow grove are technically rewriting 500 year old history. Prophets are expected to clean out the dung pits to ward off evil spirits. It is bad luck to predict a good hunt the day before the hunt, and useless the day of.

The lizard folk quickly realize how bad of a prophet the PC is, but don’t give up on him*. He may be a stupid prophet, but he’s their stupid prophet.

Lead them nobly towards sustainability and peace like a hero?

Sounds to me like these two statements go very well together.

A Lizardman aquaculture operation. That gives them the ability to produce tradable stockpiles salted alligator, catfish, carp.

Just as long as the "prophet" get their cut!

Economics, yet another way to break the game, LOL

As Prophet, you'll be expected to take part in several important ceremonies to the Dragon god. Being expected to marry one of the locals is standard and boring; other religious observances would keep the player guessing and at a maximum level of awkwardness and dread. They might include consuming traditional Lizardfolk food or wearing a particularly embarrassing hat (a la Gilgamesh Wulfenbach). One particular rite-of-passage thing could be the Skin-Shedding Ceremony that marks a young lizardfolk's entrance into adulthood; he'll be expected to assist in removing the old skin. (Unlike snakes, Lizardfolk don't lose the skin all in one piece; it has to be scratched off).

Take a level of cleric. Become the actual prophet of their god.
