I've done it. I've found what is, quite possibly, the most random, confusing, and all out annoying NPC/Monster ever. I did this entirely randomly, sitting around making dungeons for fun using the Random Dungeon Generator (Found here (http://www.aarg.net/~minam/dungeon.cgi)). And, here it is - The most awesome, confusing, and random moster ever to grace a dungeon.

Monsters
(vampire) D'gyhl, male ogre mage Brd7: CR 15; Size L (9 ft., 11 in. tall); HD 5d8+20 + 7d6+28; hp 97; Init +6 (+2 Dex, +4 Improved initiative); Spd 30 ft.; AC 16 (+2 Dex, -1 Size, +5 Natural); Attack +14/+9 melee, or +9/+4 ranged; SV Fort +10, Ref +8, Will +7; AL N; Str 25, Dex 14, Con 18, Int 17, Wis 13, Cha 21.

Languages Spoken: Common, Giant, Infernal, Orc, Undercommon.

Skills and feats: Concentration +7, Craft +12, Disguise +13, Heal +5, Hide +7, Knowledge (religion) +9, Listen +4, Move silently +10, Perform +15, Sense motive +5, Spellcraft +5, Spot +4, Use magic device +15; Combat casting, Empower spell, [Improved initiative], Scribe scroll.

Possessions: 7,200 gp in gear.

Bard Spells Known (3/5/3/1): 0th -- Dancing Lights, Detect Magic, Mending, Open/Close, Read Magic, Resistance. 1st -- Identify, Mage Armor, Sleep, Summon Monster I. 2nd -- Cure Moderate Wounds, Invisibility, Locate Object, Silence. 3rd -- Haste, Magic Circle against Law.

That's right, a Vampire Ogre Mage Bard! So crazy! Top that - Though it must really be randomly generated, not thought up in your head.

NOTE - I have NO problem with the random dungeon generator, it's a very useful tool that proves to make interesting, if random, dungeons, and is very helpful if you want to play a game spontaneously.

I love it, actually. That would be a hell of an NPC to run into.

I think 2nd edition topped that with the Su Monster. Sorry, but I'm a big fan of a psionic monkey. I doubt WotC can even come close, even with 7 editons of DnD to top that. :smallamused:

The question is where a minotaur barbarian gets the idea and gains the ability to become a lich... even a 20th level one.

You should have used the "Show motivations" option. Then we would have known!

I think that takes the cake over the Ogre Mage

As an aside i'd like to know how a white great wyrm fits in a 2x4 room

Just in: 9 glabrezu in a 2x4

Heh, it seems this random generator has a little trouble applying templates properly. :smallamused: Not as strange as the minotaur, but how did the Ogre Mage become a vampire? Not actually possible, I think.

Also, these are the best undeads ever! They still have their Constitution scores!

Clown Form
Setting Sun 1 (Stance)

By Assuming this stance you gain the clown's extraordinary ability to compress your limbs and non-vital organs to a more space efficient form, allowing you to occupy an otherwise impossible area with any number of other creatures of any size who are also using this stance. While using this stance your limbs are rendered ineffective and you may not make any physical actions but are free to make purely mental ones.

Weirdest things I got on my first try were a lich doppleganger wizard 19, three minotaurs in a 2x3 room, and a black wyrm in a 2x3. Poor wyrm.

Edit: Heh heh. First monster on my second try was a svirfneblin lich with 20 levels of Fighter.

Languages Spoken: Common, Dwarven, Gnome, Terran, Undercommon.

Possessions: 170,000 gp in gear.

Edit3: A great black wyrm in a 1x2 room.

Edit4: This is the Dungeon of the Weird. Minotaur lich barbarian 19. Also, 4 Ogre sorcerers in a 2x4 room.

I didn't know a Great Wyrm Black Dragon could fit in a 2x4 room. It seems most monsters here have the Stance BCOVertigo mentioned. Would two Balors fit in a 2x4 room?

EDIT: In a room with a single square, How would a Great Wyrm White Dragon fit? O.o

EDITEDIT:

(lich) Saatrah, male ogre Bbn18: CR 20; Size L (9 ft., 6 in. tall); HD 4d8+16 + 18d12+72; hp 238; Init -1 (-1 Dex); Spd 40 ft.; AC 13 (-1 Dex, -1 Size, +5 Natural); Attack +27/+22/+17/+12/+7 melee, or +19/+14/+9/+4/-1 ranged; SV Fort +21, Ref +6, Will +7; AL CN; Str 25, Dex 9, Con 18, Int 3, Wis 11, Cha 1.

Languages Spoken: Common, Giant.

Skills and feats: Climb +10, Craft +12, Hide -5, Listen +5, Move silently -1, Ride +5, Spot +5; Alertness, Blind-fight, Cleave, Combat reflexes, Great fortitude, Power attack, Weapon focus (greatsword).

Possessions: 130,000 gp in gear.

It's maybe not quite in the same league as the others but I think the half-fiendish kobold sorceror-paladin deserves a mention. He didn't spring from an on-line generator bt from my own attempts to randomly choose a race/class combination. I decided not to go with that one.

Class retraining rules after a bad run-in with a Feeblemind spell while on Polymorph?

(e.g., Minotaur Wizard becomes Lich, polymorphs to infiltrate something or other, gets hit with a feeblemind while not undead, then with an Int of 1, retrains to be a barbarian.... and the Feeblemind is eventually removed, so the Lich can contemplate his fate....)

I didn't get many odd combos (An Ogre bard and an Ogre rogue were the oddest), but I did get an amusing mental image. A storm giant and seven(7) griffons in a 2x5 room with a 10 foot square pit trap.

I've always kinda assumed you COULD become a lich if you didn't have spellcasting levels, it was just forced onto you, much like mumification.

I know, RAW you can't, but it doesn't make all that much sense. I know magic preserves you, but the magic doesn't have to be innate - Magic isn't innate in Wizards, for instance, but they become lichs. I see no reason you couldn't become a lich much like having a Wizard enchant a masterwork item you created.

That said, Minotaur Barbarian Lichs don't make all that much sense, yeah, but in my mind, not all that strange - I made a Lich Fighter once, just cause I wanted a challanging undead creature for my players, but didn't want them decimated by a Wizard. A posh on RAW!

Ogre Rogues arn't all that strange, they just act more like thugs. It's unlikely they'd get to use Sneak Attack after the first round (ambush), but they exist (think the same tactics as Bugbears, only not as good at hiding.)

And, yeah, the generator doesn't take size into account, at all... I think mine wins, with 12 Storm Giants, in a 3x3 room.

God, this is the weirdest random generating dungeon maker ever. In the first room there were 16 aasimars- 12 paladins, a monk, a sorcerer, a wizard, and a bard, all good. In the room acrossed from there, room two, there were three tiefling rogues each at four levels higher then their aasimar neighbors and all naturally, evil. I've dubbed these the Bloods and the Crips. I'd love an explanation as to why these two groups are holding up right next to each other in the depths of an ancient dungeon instead of killing each other.

You mistake the interaction. It's like a middle-school dance full of potential Romeos and Juliets, but no one's willing to cross the no-man's-land in the dungeon to ask for the first dance.

My DM threw something weirder at me. I'm almost ashamed to say that I lost to it. It was a...weregerbil.

edit: I used the NPC generator on that site, and it gave me a Commoner10/Noble10.
