RotRL - Black Monk's Command Undead Ability

Hi guys!

I'm currently DMing the Rise of the Runelords campaign in our D&D 3.5 game and the heroes will soon encounter The Black Monk in the Black Tower. While reading his stats and abilities I noticed his Command Undead ability, which says, that he can "automatically command all normal undead" in a certain area. Now I'm wondering how this ability will interact with the undead minions the group's Dread Necromancer has under his control. Will they switch sides and obey the Black Monk?

Generally when Command Undead is opposed by another command undead spell then it is resolved with opposed charisma rolls to see who the undead obey
