Hi all
So our group just finished Out of the Abyss, and it was fun, but man was it dark. Our allies kept dying, things got deformed and corrupted, not a very joyous time...

In my group, we take turns DMing and Im next. Normally I choose to run homebrew stuff, but lack of time prevents it this time around, so Im going to use an existing adventure and the question is, which one. I would read the books, but
1. I dont have them and I cant afford to buy all of them
2. I'll probably be a player in the ones I won't run so I dont want to read them.

So which one should we run? We're looking for something that would feel different from OoTA, maybe more above ground stuff.
P.S (of the existing ones we already did rise of Tiamat and obviously OoTA)

Thanks in advance.

My recommendations in order:
Storm Kings Thunder (its a blast)
Princes of the Apocalypse (great if you want to play in skt)
Tomb of Annihilation (havemt done myself but heard good things)
Curse of Strahd (likely darker than oota)
Tales from the Yawning Portal (not great for use as a campaign)

First of all did Stool die? Second I agree Id play storm kings thunder. I just played curse of Strahd but 2 of my party members were so chaotic we failed the dungeon.

I wish I could say he did 😭
The only one that you could say truly survived was jimjar.

Could you, with the least amount of spoilers, tell me what STK is about, like what is the main theme for this adventure?
Also, is a 4 people party ok for that, I assume it will be, but just in case.

The hook is the old pecking order of the giants has been shaken up and they're all scrambling to be top of the new pile. The problem is that the small folk happen to be in the way. There are twists and turns and so on but that's the gist of it. A party of 4 should manage fine.

I'd go with SKT. A lot of outdoors activity; you can get killed but there's not much grimdark, at least thus far.

NOOO!! Not Stool.
"Giants have emerged from their strongholds to threaten civilization as never before. Hill giants are stealing all the grain and livestock they can, while stone giants have been scouring settlements that have been around forever. Fire giants are press-ganging the small folk into the desert, while frost giant longships have been pillaging along the Sword Coast. Even the elusive cloud giants have been witnessed, their wondrous floating cities appearing above Waterdeep and Baldur’s Gate. Where is the storm giant King Hekaton, who is tasked with keeping order among the giants?"
(Wizards of the coast) This is the basic jist of it. Or more accurately the description on the official site.
