Half-Golem is an inherited template that has no LA, Lynanthrope is one that does.

As a DM, how would you rule inheriting these templates on an existing character? Would you stick them with sn adjustment, or are they just lucky?

Half-Holem in particular has a purchase price, so is having that paid enough to satisfy the balance?

Monster Manual 2 (the source of the Half-Golem template) was affected by the 3.0-3.5 update. According to the update booklet, the half-golems are all LA -, not LA 0, so they're not supposed to be for players.

They do have the price for Making them. In my games if anyone wants to play a half golem they have to buy it. It's pretty expensive if I remember right.

Since it got la _ now then it means that the amount of xp when you have en encounter is not defined anymore because your ecl becomes _ which then makes the square to refer for xp gain impossible to find(since there is no _ line) and also makes that the amount of xp for reaching the next level be _.
So when you solve an encounter then the game have no defined behavior at all just because you bought a 20000 gp arm to replace the arm you lost.
Basically do not put la _ on a template that is supposed to be so easy to get that it is supposed to replace a casting of regeneration(since it is the fluff of the template: it is for replacing lost limbs)

Half-golems are the results of good-intentioned actions taken too far. While the application of a poultice infused with curative herbs or the casting of a spell can save the life of an injured or diseased person, only powerful magic can replace a missing limb. Such magic is often beyond the reach of the ordinary person working in a quarry or a mill, or scything a field of grain, who suffers the loss of one or more limbs.

Arcane artisans applied their knowledge of golem construction to come up with a way to restore such a person to wholeness. While the initial results were promising, there was a limit to the effectiveness of the technique - many people who received one or more new limbs through this process proved unable to withstand the trauma of the transformation and became permanently evil as a result. Individuals of evil intent now exploit this limitation, purposely creating ravening, unholy crosses between living beings and golems.
Yep: it is supposed to replace a casting of regenerate.
regenerate costs 910 gp to buy as a spellcasting service.
You can also use greater planar binding to get some celestial to cast it if you are a wizard which is in fact not so hard since you can write a scroll of it at low level.

Half-golem is inherited? I don't think so. You have to craft and attach a golem part to a creature to turn it into a half-golem.

Uhh.. no, the cheapest one is 10,000 gp and 250 XP half flesh golem. Clay is 12,000gp 250xp, stone is 16,000 gp 320 XP, and iron is 20,000 gp and 400 XP.

Sorry forgot a 0.
It still is cheap relatively to the improvement.

Yeah, though -6 to intelligence and charisma, and a will save to not become a mindless killing machine tend to keep this template as a specific character idea kind of template.

you can use a luck feat to be 100% sure of succeeding to the save.
Or be a crusader.

I think the character that wants this is already a mindless killing machine
