starting curse of strahd campaign

Hello im PCing in said campaign and am looking for some ideas on some caster builds/classes to play, i would like to maybe play a wizard or cleric (nothing to optimized against undead) since the DM shut down my idea of a white necromancer. We will start at level 6 and am looking to go to. Prc as well. Thoughts and suggestions please.

Im actually looking at an archavist and was wondering what PRcs go good with this class especially for a ravenloft campaign, light on the cheese as well please im not looking to blow up every undead i encounter

Archivist is fine as is, but for PRCs of note, Sacred Exorcist grants Turning to fuel divine feats (notably Divine Metamagic, Divine Defiance and Divine Spell Power), Contemplative/Seeker of the Misty Isles/etc. grant Domains and Hathran/Dweomerkeeper are just incredibly powerful on their own right.
