Awaken Construct LA?

What would the LA of a construct after the spell Awaken Construct be? What would be the lowest ECL construct one could apply this to?

By RAW, LA isn't altered. That said, DMs seem to frown on PCs getting 'free' permanent spells cast on them. At the very least, suggest deducting the cost of one casting from your starting wealth.

As for the lowest ECL construct this could apply to... Dustform creatures are the only construct with no intelligence and a LA, unless you go into stuff like template-stacked hairy spiders. I suppose the spell could be cast on any construct, though it wouldn't actually do anything other than let you reroll stats.

So to answer your questions: LA is unchanged, lowest ECL construct would either be something like warforged or a dustform human.

An Effigy of any 1 HD base race creature like an elf, dwarf, or human would be very low ECL as well, though determining which racial traits are retained and which are lost can be difficult.

What would the LA of a construct after the spell Awaken Construct be?
It's not affected, just like the LA/ECL of an Awakened Animal. However, if one is getting a spell cast on them before chargen, then I'd expect it to have come out of their WBL. Unfortunately, the XP cost of the spell makes is fairly expensive to buy (26360 GP, assuming sanctum cheese permitted, but no other)

Warforged are LA0 constructs. Awaken Construct doesn't actually specify the construct has to be Mindless, so they're O.K on that front.

Savage species has a list of LAs for several golems. They are all pretty ridiculously high though.
