So the fallen aasimar once per long rest ability works nicely with the conquest paladins aura and the once per turn extra damage is neat too, as does the CHA for weapon attacks work well with DC to the fear effects, were thinking a simple pala 19 Hexblade 1 sword & board build with dueling style, start 1 paladin for heavy armor and right away grab 1 Hexblade for CHA to weapon attacks.

Array after racials: 15/8/15/8/10/17

Background: sailor(pirate)
Paladin skills: insight and intimidation

ASI 1: +1 STR, +1 CHA
ASI 2: resilient(CON)
ASI 3: +2 CHA
ASI 4: warcaster
ASI 5 : +2 CON

End stats: 16/8/18/8/10/20

How efficient do you think this build be overall and would you reccomend any other way to spend the ASI’s?

I honestly do not see the need for resilient con with paladin, aura of protection will fix that. So just max out chr 1st.

War caster is better at early levels versus resilient which is better when your proficiency bonus is like +3

Why bother the +1 str?

Why not take a +cha feat like actor instead?

Hey, you can be an evil actor. Did you ever read series of unfortunate events?

Fair enough on the odd numbers, it was just a thought for getting more or if the char.

True, just want sinister evil not foppish evil, and 16 STR gives better athletics, carry weight and STR save so its not wasted. :)

The Actor Feat works well to disguise yourself as someone else. Depending on your party make up, you might need to pretend not to be you on multiple occasions. Hey, Iggwilv did it, it's basically tradition!

Do you know if the DM's style allows Athletics to be used a lot? Intrigue campaigns or campaigns without much travel might not offer as many opportunities for it.

Hmm perhaps keep your con at 14, put the extra points into wisdom, and instead of resilient con take shield master to help with your low Dex and get shoves on bonus action. Fun fact, enemies frightened within your aura can't get up if they're prone. ;)

You might be better off keeping your strength at 15 (eww odds), starting at 16 Cha and just pumping charisma to start. You can always round off strength later. This gives you more points for wisdom. You don't want to be the king of fear and be super susceptible to it yourself :p
