I have been thinking about bonus actions and wanted to provide a little more flexibility so this was an idea I had.

Could you replace bonus actions with half actions? The way it would work is you get 1.5 actions per turn. So you could do 1 action and one half action or up to 3 half actions. Would this break anything terribly? The goal here is to add an option to do multiple bonus actions per turn but at the expense of your main action. Let me know what you think.

Most Bonus Action spells require concentration, so they aren't a huge concern. And bonus actions tied to the Attack action (like Two-Weapon Fighting and Martial Arts) aren't a concern as long as you keep them attached to it. But many Bonus Actions are just as strong as ordinary Actions.

If you let a Rogue take 3 Bonus Actions, they could move, disengage, dash and hide in one turn. The Monk gets similar options. And if you let a spellcaster take 3 Bonus Actions, you end up with 3 (Mass) Healing Words or three attacks with a Spiritual Weapon.

There would be issues with it.

Berserker Barbarian - Frenzy, you would be able to make 3 melee attacks at level 3
Spells - Flaming Sphere, Spiritual Weapon, heat metal, etc and other spells that allow you to do damage as a bonus action, would let you do this 3 times (would be very over powered)
Rogues - Could Dash 3 times and move. Turning a normal 30ft movement into 120 feet in a turn (pretty broken)

The most broken here would be the spells.

The casting of spells as a bonus action really isn't a big deal since there is already a rule in place allowing only 1 non-cantrip spell per turn. So, you would still be able to only cast 1 healing word. The issue is the spells where you do damage as a bonus action.
