Here's mine, by day:

Mon/Wed/Fri: Penny Arcade, Sam & Fuzzy, El Goonish Shive, XKCD, Girl Genius
Mon/Thurs: Grrlpower
Tue/Fri: Strong Female Protagonist
Varies: PvP Online, Weregeek, Erfworld, Order of the Stick
Daily: SMBC, Questionable Content (though I don't check these as often since I don't feel comfortable checking them at work)

Check occasionally but forget sometimes: whatever's on Sorcery 101, Thunderstruck (well, it updates 1/month now)

Rusty & Co (http://rustyandco.com/). is also quite good.

Add Kill Six Billion Demons (https://killsixbilliondemons.com/) to the list. It's a blast to read.

I have somewhere between two dozen and thirty bookmarked that I check every day, mostly they don't update on most days. I have a subfolder I check weekly, most of them don't update. After that, I check the webcomiclist (http://www.thewebcomiclist.com/latest/) daily, it lists updates by the hour as they happen, but it sometimes drops a comic without notification (I'm not registered with them, it may play differently if you are registered, or not, I don't know), I was assuming that Girls with slingshots was on hiatus, but it seems that's also been dropped.

<edit>

I may or may not bookmark Girls with Slingshots, I sometimes do that, quite a few of my bookmarks no longer show up in the webcomiclist(dot)com, but quite a few do and have to be skipped there.

Sluggy Freelance, OOTS, Will Save World For Gold, Penny Arcade, Erfworld, and Tower of God.

Out of those, I can only recommend OOTS, Will Save World for Gold, and Tower of God. The others aren't very good at all, but I'm still reading them out of habit. Most of them start out good though.

Just dumped "I roved out ..." because "please hit my tits hard" is a male fantasy that should not be endorsed.

Some people are actually into things like that you know.

If a male wrote a female saying "please hit my tits hard" that would be wrong. If a female wrote that to make money by pleasing males, that would be wrong.

The people who are into that, are probably wrong uns.

Yeah, it's maybe a fantasy, but the line between fantasy and reality can get blurred, and then we're talking about at least abuse, leading possibly to murder.

I don't think it's your place to pass judgement on what consenting adults do with each other or what they enjoy.

I also don't think this is the place for this argument though, so let's drop it.

At this stage, I've cut down a bit and haven't added a new comic to my rotation in years.

Order of the Stick
Questionable Content
Sluggy Freelance
Scarygoround
SMBC
Oglaf
Sinfest
Menage a 3
Goblins

I think that's about it as far as regular basis stuff.

SirKazum

I regularly follow many that have already been mentioned - OOTS (obvs), SMBC, XKCD, Dinosaur Comics, Darths & Droids, Sinfest, Oglaf. Others I used to follow and/or may drop in on once in a while include aforementioned Erfworld, Aaron Williams stuff (FFN, Nodwick), Rusty & Co., Pearls before Swine.

As for those not mentioned above... first of all, honorable mention to the now-finished Dr. McNinja (http://drmcninja.com/) - possibly the best serial webcomic out there - and 8-Bit Theater (https://www.nuklearpower.com/8-bit-theater/). Those two are dearly missed.

Speaking of which, Chris Hastings of Dr. McNinja is now publishing some comics (either 5 or 1 series, depending on your point of view) on Twitter, under @hastingsfunnies (https://twitter.com/hastingsfunnies). They're alright, maybe not quite warmed up yet, I dunno. The format is a bit clunky though.

Other than that, I'm following:

Cyanide and Happiness (http://explosm.net/) - can't believe nobody posted this yet.

The Non-Adventures of Wonderella (http://nonadventures.com/) - publishes VERY infrequently these days, like once a few months. Really good though, check the archives. If you're interested in following it but can't be bothered to check back in every so often and not see any updates, follow @wonderella (https://twitter.com/wonderella) on Twitter - it's definitely my favorite Twitter account.

Scenes From A Multiverse (http://amultiverse.com/) - only technically, since it's been on a hiatus for a rather long time. The author's going through a really rough patch, so no knowing when (or if) it's coming back. It's really good though - but be advised, it tends to get political often.

The Perry Bible Fellowship (http://pbfcomics.com/) - VERY infrequent updates, though they've been coming at progressively shorter intervals lately. I'd say it's the best gag-a-day webcomic in existence, bar none.

Red Meat (https://www.redmeat.com/) - posts regularly on a weekly basis (Tuesdays), although it's mostly reruns by now - actually new comics come only once in a while. Of course, you won't notice it if you're new. Really good gag-a-day comic with regular characters, if you're into dark humor.

I mostly use RSS to follow these. It's the best way I've found to keep abreast of updates without having to regularly check the websites. It doesn't exactly have the best support though, so it glitches out sometime...

Yeah I look at a few.
Dan and Mab's Furry adventures.
Girl Genius.
OOTS.
XKCD.
The Punchline is Machismo.

32, Accursed Dragon, Drowtales, EGS, Girl Genius, Goblins, Gunnerkrigg Court, How to be homeless, Lackadaisy Cats, OotS, Questionable Content, Rusty & Co., Strong Female Protagonist, Slightly Damned, Sluggy Freelance, some of the comics on the Sorcery 101 website, Star Power, The Fancy Adventures of Jack Cannon, XKCD, Banished!, Unsounded, Funny Farm.

Concluded: Digger, DrMcNinja, Girls with Slingshots, probably more I can't think of right now.

Many of these comics have been on a downward spiral for a while. I probably will stop reading XKCD soon. Accursed Dragon had an awesome first part and an unreadable second part. Drowtales has a host of problems with plot fragmentation and unnecessary time skips. QC's writing has been going downhill for a while. Sluggy Freelance is better than it has previously been, but not as good as it was in its early years.

There also are a few that I think are neat, but don't have a large plot to keep me in, so I tend to forget about them, like Sequential Art.

In addition to some of the comics others have mentioned,

Dresden Codak
Wormworld Saga

Updates to these are infrequent but worth the wait. Worth checking in twice a year basically. Actually I think OOTS works better on that frequency too, it's easier to track the plot if you read a lot of them at once.

Another vote for The Adventures of Dr McNinja probably being the finest webcomic ever made.

As for a few of the others:

Exiern (http://www.exiern.com)

Spying With Lana (http://www.spyingwithlana.com)

Puck (http://www.puckcomics.com)

Yesterday Bound (http://www.yesterdaybound.com)

In the interests of being open, since starting reading all these webcomics, I've become (online) friends with all of the above linked webcomic creators and even exchanged occasional emails with Christopher Hastings, most recently commiserating about what happened to Gwenpool and what a shame it was.

I've really petered out on most of the webcomics I read lately but I still check in on these:
Transfusions (warning, vampire BL)
A Tale of Two Rulers
Far to the North
Trying Human
Manly Men Doing Manly Things
Penny Arcade
Adulthood is a Myth

I read a bunch, but usually on and off. I'm casting a vote for Boumeries (http://comics.boumerie.com/) is a comic that is hard for my dyslexic self to spell, but is a slice of life comic from a geek who likes videogames and has children. I assume we have a few of those lying around here and there.

Secondly...Handbook of Heroes (http://www.handbookofheroes.com/)...Because we've ALL seen players like those. Don't lie.

I've followed quite a few over the years. First webcomic I followed (and later stopped following) was Planet Zebeth. My collection grew from there. I use Firefox and open all the links in tabs. While loading, I start my daily routine around the house and come back to them all loaded. Not all of them are necessarily the highest quality, some started by people who started young, getting better with writing and their art style. Opinions will differ, but they are entertaining to me. Minor spoilers in the descriptions of some.

http://www.awkwardzombie.com/ Is mostly about video games and how silly some things can be, contradictions, and so on.

http://www.blitzphoenix.com/ Not too old of a webcomic, can be binged in a couple hours to the most recent page. Teen gets "kidnappped" by his mother, gets experimented on, trying to figure out new interesting life. I'm interested in seeing where it will go.

http://www.missmab.com/ Based on characters in a MuD, became a bit of slice-of-life and drama with some adventure thrown in occasionally. Look at the first comic compared to the latest for how the artist has improved over the years. Its wild to think about.

http://www.egscomics.com/ From the website itself, "A strange comic about a group of teenagers and the bizarre, often supernatural, situations that they face. Includes a continuing storyline with non-linear joke comics on the side. WARNING: Often ignores the laws of Physics." Lots of foreshadowing in earlier chapters show the artist has a overall story in mind.

http://www.erfworld.com/ I don't need to say much about this one that hasn't already been said.

http://freefall.purrsia.com/default.htm Another very long-running comic. Having trouble coming up with a good description of this one in only a line or two. Alien ship captain bribes someone to get an engineer, the two subtly influence each other with very different morals/ethics.

http://www.giantitp.com/ Once again, not much to say on this one if you're here.

http://goblinscomic.com/ This one has come off and on my reading list a couple times. Goblins form an adventuring party in a DnD world.

http://guildedage.net/ Currently in its last chapter as we've been told by Word of God. Adventurer's trying to get by, eventually forming a guild. Has connections between a real world/MMO world, but treats the MMO world stuff as a fantasy world and not a game.

http://twokinds.keenspot.com/ One of those that has matured with age. Incredibly powerful magic user gets amnesia and has a change of personality, trying to regain lost memories.

http://www.housepetscomic.com/ A comic that keeps it light-hearted (for the most part). Pets can walk and talk, but are still pets.

http://invisiblebread.com/2011/04/crafty/ No real continuity between stips, mostly one-off jokes.

http://danielscreations.com/ola/comics/latest.html DnD based comic similar to, and inspired by, Order of the Stick.

http://mokepon.smackjeeves.com/ A kids Pokemon journey, going through the Kanto region. Roughly follows the same physical path as Red/Blue, but with some twists for the events along the way.

http://www.nerfnow.com/ Video game comic, mostly one-offs with the occasional storyline.

http://www.nuzlocke.com/pokemonhardmode.php I'm holding out hope for this one to take off again, as unlikely as it is. Was about a year between updates last time. Pokemon adventures through various regions. Most of the early references are to "Lost", so if you're not familiar with that show some of the humor will be lost.

http://www.poisonedminds.com/ More mature comic, R-Rated. First comics are gags before the story begins. Quite an upgrade to the art over the years.

http://www.powernapcomic.com/ Company creates a pill that eliminates the need for sleep in most people. Doesn't work for a small percent of the population. Follows the story of one person before it gets weird.

http://runewriters.com/index.php Fantasy world where people who can use magic are "runewriters". Magic type is inherited at birth. Follows a group of people trying to find cures for their miscasts, where a mistake is made and has unfortunate side effects.

https://www.smbc-comics.com/#comic Gag strips with no continuing story.

http://www.savestatecomic.com/ Another video-game comic that I'm on the fence about, may be removing this one from my list soon. Video-game addicts living video game addict lives.

http://www.skindeepcomic.com/ Mythical creatures hide amongst the normal population. Starts out following one person's change. After the first couple chapters (Orientations parts 1-5) it mellows out a fair bit.

http://www.sdamned.com/ Person gets killed and is sent to be judged. Isn't pure enough for heaven, is sinful enough for hell, so they get sent to the ring of the slightly damned. Heavier on the story later in the run.

http://strongfemaleprotagonist.com Bunch of kids get superpowers thanks to an unknown event. Superheroes and Supervillains pop up. Follows a retired superhero who wants to lead a more normal life and make the world a better place.

http://acityinaplace.com/ Post-apocalyptic world following the protagonist trying to survive.

http://willsaveworldforgold.com/ DnD comic based on 4th edition rules, and sticks to them pretty closely.

https://loadingartist.com/ Gag stips that almost always try to take an unexpected twist.

http://www.howtobeawerewolf.com/ Protagonist has been a werewolf for most of her life, but never knew of others like her. Gets found by a someone much more in the know.

http://www.wildelifecomic.com/comic/ Protagonist moves to small town to get away from the city, turns out the house is haunted and other things around town.

http://www.joshuawright.net/index.html Several different comics here. Each probably worth checking out, a fair bit of variety.

http://thunderbirdcomic.com/ Wild west setting with some magic and gods.

http://www.godslavecomic.com/comic/ Protagonist frees ancient trapped god, based on Egyptian lore. Agrees to help god, story ensues.

http://www.handbookofheroes.com/ Gag comics based on DnD. If you;ve played table top games, you can relate to most of the jokes.

While putting this post together I actually did a little cleaning and deleted a couple comics that I was losing interest in. Got a little short on the descriptions near the end, but comics are more a visual medium than text, so check them out if you're interested.

http://brawlinthefamily.keenspot.com/ Comic based on Super Smash Brothers, mostly gags between the characters.

https://www.bgreco.net/kidradd/ One of the webcomics that took advantage of being on the web. Lost of the fun features don't work anymore, but it's still a good read.

http://www.dominic-deegan.com/ Fantasy setting following a seer, making money by telling the future. Lot's of jokes and puns, picks up on the drama/story eventually.

http://raptorvsrex.net/ Raptor has tribe wiped out by a T-Rex, swears revenge.

http://drmcninja.com/ A doctor, who is also a ninja. Get's rather crazy and radical as the comic goes on.

http://www.leftoversoup.com/index.php This one sits in a wierd place for me. It comes across like a blog where each of the main cast are a different part of the author as time moves on, getting preachy at times. I still kept coming back anyway.

https://www.nuklearpower.com/8-bit-theater/ Sprite comic during the height of sprite comics. Fairly entertaining.

OOTS.

SMBC.

Used to do a few more, like XKCD and Darths and Droids, but havent seen them in a bit. Should really get caught up in D&D, really. Plenty of story to get through now, I'm sure. Also used to do 8BT, but, well, all good things come to an end. Oh, to be young again. And also a robot.

ETA: God, I hated Questionable Content. The robot was the only good thing about that strip, and it quickly became all about angsty drama I didn't care about.

I have a ridiculously long list that's fluctuated over time as I forget about some and go back to others. On an old PC I used to have a favorites folder that was nothing but a long list of M-W-F webcomics to pull up three times a week. Maybe one day I'll do that again, for now I'm in a weird cycle of constantly rediscovering comics I've loved after they've had a few weeks or months to continue and give me a backlog.

Right now, Monster Pulse, Mare Internum, Mokepon, Rain LGBT, Schlock Mercenary, Freefall, Kiwi Blitz, Sleepless Domain, XKCD, Forward, White Noise by Madsniper, and Unsounded are the ones I'm currently checking consistently.

Selkie (http://selkiecomic.com/comic/selkie/): Life, Love, and Fishies! A story of a family born of adoption. There are feels, but is mostly just a good feel good story.

Favorite Part: Little selkie has just met her new grandparents for the first time and sees that they're black. She looks to her new Blue eyed, Blonde father, and just asks "You're adopted too?"

The story is also notable for depicting bullying realistically(As in, the effects are realistic and the "he has a bad home and just wants friends" trope that really doesn't apply IRL anymore is averted) and resolving that conflict in a way that is both carthartically satisfying and actually helps the problem.

It also has a Spin-Off called the Adventures of Sue and Katherine: Undead Adventurers (http://sueandkathryn.com/comic/sueandkathryn01/) which is a cartoon in Selkie's world. The comics update on Alternate days with Selkie updating Mon-Wed-Fri and Sue and Kat Tues-Thurs-Sat with Sundays off.

Stand Still, Stay Silent (http://www.sssscomic.com)

I can't overstate how great this comic is. Near-future post-apocalytic, set in the Nordic lands. Thanks to the world going dark (horrible gribbly monster virus) the old ways are coming back.

Delves into Finnish folklore, especially, and lots of humour with some really disturbingly gross monsters.

Beautiful art.

One of the first, if not the very first for me (and probably through the original miniseries) was Crossed: Wish You Were Here.

It was up for free as it was being published and ended up being superior to all of the printed for sale material, even those written by Alan Moore. You can also buy this as well in print.

The character work is exceptional and the story was first class, though word of warning, it could get quite horrific.

The art does look fabulous. I'd love to get some time to look into it.

I'll put in another good word for Cucumber Quest. The story's alright, but I don't think any other webcomic can be so damned beautiful.

Wonderella is demented and brilliant. Crossed is pretty hard going, but has it's merits. And although I started a thread about it already, Weapon Brown is a tour de force.

I want to like Draw Play, but it's like 99% just poorly drawn versions of the "jokes" that the NFL subreddit has already beaten to death. I'm pretty sure he does it on purpose to pander to them. I can see how it's entertaining if you don't use that sub much though.

Coincidentally, I've got a list of comics that I've read (as well as how frequently) on this computer desktop. (Aside: it's actually not a coincidence. After thinking about this thread, I decided to go through that Top Webcomics site and list all of the comics that I've read, as well as a few that I couldn't see on there but I still read. Didn't go all the way through the website, though. Then, I organized the list. I won't include the comics that I stopped because I lost interest in them or disliked, and so on...so, here we go.

Erstwhile Tales - I don't actually know if this is available anymore. It was basically a retelling of different old stories from way back when, as drawn by three different artists (they switched artist every story).
The Ten Tailors of Weston Court - http://tentailors.thecomicseries.com/ - The story is basically over; the writer just seems to be adding in a bit to a bonus after-story every couple months or so. It's a background story to The Wolf at Weston Court, where the artist challenged herself to using a limited color palette.
Abby Normal - http://abbynormal.thecomicseries.com/ - was a fun story, but the artist decided to reboot it and I haven't gotten around to reading the reboot. Basically about a couple of undead hanging about in a postapocalyptic world, with really cute art.
- there was this other comic I really enjoyed, but it ended and I can't remember its name. It took place in a college setting, and one of the side characters was invisible...I just remember that I really enjoyed it.

Stand Still, Stay Silent - http://www.sssscomic.com/ - a beautiful comic with neat folklore elements. I started reading it when it when it was starting, but then forgot about it until I no longer had time to catch up
Quantum Vibe - http://www.quantumvibe.com/ - a cool sci-fi that I started reading because I was reading too many fantasy comics. I caught up and...stopped reading
Fey Winds - http://www.feywinds.com/ - a fantasy comic that has a really cool setting. Again...caught up and stopped reading
dream*scar - http://dream-scar.net/ - sort of a supernatural drama story? It has lots of neat concepts but I stopped reading because it seems to update sporadically
Snow by Night - http://www.snowbynight.com/ - I love this story; takes place in Canada and has folklore elements as well, about two guys and a spirit of winter
Damsels Don't Wear Glasses - http://damsels-dont-wear-glasses.com/ - A cool story with...a techo-fantasy-ish setting? I don't really know how to describe it, 'cause I haven't read it in a while. But the main heroine is really cool.
Shadowbinders - http://shadowbinders.clownfishtv.com/ - A neat fantasy comic with cool magic and ... I can't remember why I stopped reading it. Maybe it went on hiatus for a while and I never bothered to come back
The Last Halloween - https://www.last-halloween.com/ - a horror comic with some action. I stopped reading it when it reached a natural break in the story
The Wolf at Weston Court - http://thewolfatwestoncourt.thecomicseries.com/ - A cool story about a tailor who is also a wolf, but the artist's tablet seems to have died this January and can't continue for now

Replay - A postapocalyptic fantasy comic. Has a cool story, but I always seem to forget it exists whenever I have time to catch up on comics
Dumbing of Age - A college-centered comedic comic. I'd read it more often if I enjoyed it more.
PhD Comics - the further I get into my degree, the funner this one gets
El Goonish Shive - kind-of a teen drama with magic in the background?
I Dream of a Jeanie Bottle - A jerkish guy got a genie bottle and transformed into a certain genie from an old TV series.
Sailor Sun - by the same writer as Jeanie Bottle; the story about an unemployed Canadian actor who got screwed over by his employers by permanently transforming him into a woman...(I guess at this point, the main character identifies as a woman, now that the story is reaching its conclusion? Oh, well. Through most of the story, he privately identifies as male, so I'll keep on using male pronouns) Not even his daughter-from-the-future or his long-lost twin sister knows about it, though
Rubi Whipple - Okay, so I just started this one, but it seems cool so far. Just saw its title and thought "Oh, this might be cool."

Not A Villain - A post-apocalyptic story that mostly takes place in VR. It has really good complex characters.
Goblins - updates infrequently, but I still enjoy its story and its progress. D&D-style fantasy?
xkcd - Has really funny comics, thought-provoking comics, and comics that I don't find funny. Lots of math/language/art jokes, so that's cool.
The Order of the Stick - A neat D&D-style fantasy story, with cool characters and a really neat plot
Shotgun Shuffle - A story essentially about a lazy girl looking for employment. But it has really good character development, humor, setting, etc...I enjoy it.
Widdershins - A neat historical fantasy story with a really cool summon-based magic system and a really cool plot
Flaky Pastry - Another fantasy story, but largely focused on three roommates (a chaos-magic elf, a smart girl with animal ears, and a goblin who likes tinkering with stuff) and the messes they cause
Gunnerkrigg Court - A cool techno-fantasy story focused on a schoolgirl; the story has lots of nature vs technology elements in it
Hero Oh Hero - A fantasy story that follows three separate people, switching every chapter. One is a hero-guy who's strong enough to defeat pretty much any magic user (who are pretty strong). One is a kid with weird magic powers being trained under an authoritarian regime that hates magic. The third is a person who has really high dungeoncrawling skills but got lost away from her home town.
Think Before You Think - A modern-day story where a main character reads minds, dates a girl who is incredibly self-conscious, and so on.
Modest Medusa - A cute fantasy story with a snake-girl who ends up in the real world, causing all sorts of trouble for the people around her, especially when the fantasy-world she comes from tries to get her back.
Paranatural - A supernatural story following a teenager who moves into a new town and suddenly gains the ability to see ghosts, leading to him joining a club full of others like him who fight ghosts, when there's a big mystery going on in the background
Mystery Babalon - A story involving angels and demons, taking place in the distant future
Metacarpolis - There's this weird city that has really high levels of strangeness going on; the story starts off with the main character being fired from being a minion
Solstoria - A really cute fantasy story about a girl who has always wanted to be a knight
Sidekick Girl - A superhero comic in which both superheroes and villains work under big corporations specifically for that purpose
Darths and Droids - A screencap comic of Star Wars, with a story of a bunch of friends getting together to play a D&D-like game. It has really good twists if you've seen the Star Wars movies, and also has good character development.
Manly Guys Doing Manly Things - A story where all the buff manly guys in games and movies (and so on) are under the oversight of a manly time-traveling dude from the future, in order to help them reintegrate back into society. The story mostly follows the guy in charge and the random average woman he meets, but involves references to Pokemon, Duke Nukem, Zelda (by way of Ganondorf), and so on.
Blood Splattered Socks - A neat story that has time travel as the background plot device
Pilli Adventure - A fun fantasy-like story that takes place in Mexico, following a teenage girl
Cucumber Quest - It has really cute art and a really awesome story. Basically, a parody of the "Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door" game.
Kill Six Billion Demons - It has an amazing setting.
Rusty & Co.- Very D&D episodic story
Lapse - a supernatural drama/horror where, after falling down the stairs and falling unconscious, the main character can see and talk to the ghosts hanging around. These include an old-fashioned ghost, a ghost girl, a skull-monster that wants to hurt her, and a guy who died in an accident.

So...
Wow, that list took a lot longer to describe than I thought.

Well considering the comic is about ridiculously muscled men acting like normal mature people I am not surprised that many women would enjoy it.

This is not the full list, just the ones that I like enough to shill around to you all. :smallwink:

Curvy, which is complete but now doing a hilarious recounting of the tales of the Narts
Fey Winds ("The cast page describes a fun but basically generic fantasy comic. Every statement on the cast page is a lie.")
K6BD, with the best or at least most bizarre art and setting
Oglaf, which I hopefully don't need to sell to anyone who is not put off by the mere concept
Shattered Starlight (by the author of Fey Winds)
Skin Horse (by the author of Narbonic)
Widdershins (I am still holding out hope for a Lovelace&Babbage crossover or cameo)
XKCD, I hopefully don't need to explain this one

Ones that are finished but deserve another read:

Broodhollow, I guess technically on indefinite hiatus but so damn good. The end of chapter 1 literally made me gasp.
Casey and Andy (fun enough, very mixed and crude art but there's some genuine gems in it)
Digger, lots of fun and some cool mythology
DM of the Rings, like Darths & Droids but with a more consitent tone, and also and ending. :smallwink:
Hark a Vagrant, likewise on quasi-eternal hiatus, with great Canadiana
Narbonic, the best(?) webcomic ever. Like, not even being valley-girl overenthusiastic. I... think? it's quite possibly the best.

Oh, right, also Order of the Stick.

<edit>

I may or may not bookmark Girls with Slingshots, I sometimes do that, quite a few of my bookmarks no longer show up in the webcomiclist(dot)com, but quite a few do and have to be skipped there.

Now Questionable Content and El Goonish Shive have been dropped, that's ridiculous, a couple of months ago they were tagging QC as most visited, and EGS can't have been that far behind.

I don't understand what their financial strategy is. I know I'm not paying them, do they only list comics that pay them? I cleared out my cookies, and that made no difference, so presumably it's not based on who I am.

I don't really trust any of the automated services that supposedly track webcomic updates. Not because I think they have some ulterior motive, but because I know that any such software is going to have bugs. At some point, it will stop detecting updates for a comic I like, even though the comic is still updating. That's why I don't rely on thewebcomiclist or any similar sites like Piperka (https://piperka.net/), Comic Rocket (https://www.comic-rocket.com/explore/), or Top Webcomics. I will sometimes use Piperka or Comic Rocket to get an estimate of how many pages a comic has before I start reading it, because I like to have some idea of how long it is going to take me to read through the archives, but I don't use them to tell when a comic has updated.

For tracking updates to the comics I follow, I just use a plain txt file. In the file I record the name of each comic, the update schedule (if the comic has an update schedule), the URL, the date of the last page I read, and the URL of the last page I read. It requires me to keep track of more information myself, but it's less likely to break due to a software bug.

Software has bugs sometimes, software often has bugs, not all software has bugs. In the main bugs are unpredicable and do random things. Stopping detecting updates of a comic that's still updating is not random in that sense, it's something that might be a bug once, but if it happens every time and all the time, it's a policy decision being spun as a bug to avoid explaining the policy.

In the file I record the name of each comic, the update schedule (if the comic has an update schedule), the URL, the date of the last page I read, and the URL of the last page I read. It requires me to keep track of more information myself, but it's less likely to break due to a software bug.

I can't be bothered with that. Some of the comics I read update daily, some every weekday but not the weekend, some mondays, wednesday and friday, some monday and thursday, others other combinations, then they have days or weeks off, or skip, or whatever, so in general they are not reliable enough to care which day they are due to be out on. I have an update once a week or less folder for ones that do that, and I check that once a week, the rest I check daily, because they are just too random in their timing to do anything else.

That's about it. I do glance at Erfworld from time to time and Menage a 3, but those are rarer. There are others but they update too sparingly so I dropped them (Dresden Codak, Broodhollow, Mare Internum).

The webcomics I currently read:

Cucumber Quest: A fun and heartfelt adventure story that often parodies rpg video games. Very similar sense of humor as Paper Mario. Beautiful artwork. One of my favorites.

Cyanide and Happiness: A gag a day stick figure comic that makes jokes covering a very wide spectrum of topics. Often juvenile and/or provoking.

Darths & Droids: A campaign comic based on Star Wars. Despite the genre, it spends more time parodying Star Wars than rolepaying games and gamers. This was fine when it did Phantom Menace, but it hasn't been as good since. I still enjoy it, though.

El Goonish Shive: A high school slice of life comic heavily featuring magic and body transformation. Also, most of the characters are gay. One of my favorites.

Friendship is Dragons: A campaign comic based on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Can sometimes be difficult to follow when they switch stories.

Gaia: A high fantasy adventure story with a mystery/conspiracy twist. Eventually becomes hard to follow due to character bloat.

Girl Genius: A steampunk tale featuring mad scientists and monsters in an alternate history Europe.

How to Be a Werewolf: An urban fantasy story featuring werewolves in a sleepy small town. Still relatively new. Great artwork.

Order of the Stick: Duh. One of my favorites.

Pieces of Eights: A D&D inspired adventure story about pirates and magic. Interestingly complex characters.

Sandra and Woo: A slice of life comic about a girl and her pet talking raccoon.

Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal: A gag a day comic primarily focused on science, math, and philosophy jokes. Very large archive.

Spinnerette: Starts out as a parody of superhero comics but then just kinda becomes a superhero comic. Eventually suffers the problem of remembering its own continuity when major character moments are suddenly forgotten later.

Star Power: A superhero comic in spaaaaace. The web comic equivalent to a B movie: hilariously bad.

Currently, I am doing an archive binge of Sister Claire. It is a fantasy adventure story with indescribable amounts of character and emotion. I don't know how many times it has made me cry, and I love every moment of it. This may just be my new favorite comic of all time. I highly recommend it to everyone. It is also very, very gay. It has more gay characters than El Goonish Shive, and that's saying something.

Past comics that are now complete:

1/0: A slice of life comic that explores the concepts of existentialism, nihilism, and identity. Very good read if you're into that sort of thing.

DM of the Rings: The original campaign comic based on Lord of the Rings. In my opinion, it was the only one to really get it right. This also has the distinction of being the only comic that made me laugh so hard I literally fell out of my chair. One of my favorites.

Girly: A chaotic and absurdist adventure/slice of life comic featuring pure insanity. Gets NSFW at times. One of my favorites.

Star Mares: A My Little Pony/Star Wars parody comic that I recently found thanks to this forum. I quite enjoyed it.

There are many other comics I've read to be sure, many that I dropped for one reason or another, many that I finished that didn't leave much of an impact on me, but these are the ones I felt worth mentioning.

Also, if anyone has any suggestions for comics featuring lesbians, hit me up. :smalltongue:

I am completely obsessed with Check Please! and am really surprised no one has mentioned it yet. It's a slice of life story about a college hockey team at a fictional school in Massachusetts; specifically about Eric Bittle, a Georgian former figure skating champion who loves baking and hates getting checked, which is a problem if he wants to keep his athletics scholarship.

It's got action, (sometimes they play hockey) a queer romance for the ages (enemies to friends to lovers *sighs dreamily*) and plenty of laughs. The story is currently at the start of the protagonists senior year, and it will end when he graduates. The main comic is easily short enough to read on one sitting, and the art is beautiful.(Ngozi's backgrounds are INSANE) It's had three very successful Kickstarters, and the first two years are being published by FirstSecond in less than a month!

Check it out!

I was trying to remember why I stopped reading PvP, but then I couldn't remember why I had started reading it in the first place.

Scott wrote some, at the time, funny WoW inspired strips. I was pretty entrenched in the game at the time, back in vanilla/early BC, so I that's what got me into PvP. I can't tell you exactly why I stopped reading though. I think there was a period where the strip invested in fairly middling relationship drama stuff, and it just ain't my bag.

daughter of the lilies,

dumbing of age,

gags with a uniting concept?
scandinavia and the world,

As of a couple hours ago, I am once again reading Irregular Webcomic (http://irregularwebcomic.net/3884.html).

Must resist urge to binge archives...

Same here, I was referencing one of the strips for some reason (I've forgotten what, I think it had to do with burning down the tavern) and noticed that the comics were due to start again on Monday.

So of course I'm keeping up to date with the new comics while rereading the entire archive again. I forgot just how much I enjoyed the Space strips.

Why is that? I would think the Steve Irwin ones would be the most bad-in-retrospect.

Rogar Demonblud

Honestly, no clue. Maybe it has something to do with the show being gone.

And frankly, I consider the Irwin ones to really be the Jane FREAKING Goodall strips.

Oyah, although I'm discovering how much of the shine has worn off the Mythbusters ones.

Yeah, although honestly I think it was the weakest theme of the lot even during the original run.

Why is that? I would think the Steve Irwin ones would be the most bad-in-retrospect.

As somebody who never saw Crocodile Hunter, I think they're still hilarious. Although a lot of that is due to the inclusion of Dame* Jane Freakin' Goodall, the strips before her appearance are a lot weaker.

I think that the reason is that Steve Irwin was influential enough that he's what you think of for an Aussie** outdoors type even if you've never heard of him. Even though Steve's death is a tragedy the strips ate obviously a very living parody, and it's clear that DMM has a lot of respect for both Irwin and Goodall.

In Mythbusters the jokes just aren't as funny.

* Which for some reason my phone doesn't recognise as a word.
** Yet it does recognise Aussie.

Got it. I was looking for some subtext in the statement 'shine has worn off' that wasn't there. I was like, 'oh gawds, what have we learned about the Mythbuster guys that I don't want to know about?'

The main problem with Mythbusters is that it's the basically the same joke over and over and over.

That one looks like it died, to be honest.

Probably. However, other comics have come back after very long breaks with no word from the author. Lilith's Word recently returned from a hiatus of almost one year. Monster's Garden when from October 2016 to February 2018 with no updates before coming back. Manly Guys has "only" been gone for seven months.
