How long, on average, does it take for a movie to get onto Netflix after exiting the theatres. Yes, yes, I know, its all about acquiring the rights and such, but what is the average? 3 months, 6 months, a year? I see that Rogue One is on, not sure how long ago that was, but that's less than a year from leaving its first run. And as a follow up, is there any sort of source that tells you when a movie makes it to Net, other than constantly searching the title on the site?

I don't have a true average, however most movies will make it to Netflix around the same time they get released to DVD. Disney is a big exception to this, and there may be others. Disney maximizes DVD sales, postponing Netflix streams for months, or even indefinitely for their really big movies. As time goes on and the company's own streaming service closes in on its open date, expect Netflix releases of their videos to stop altogether.
