does the Take One for the Team option of faith unswerving count as attacking the player for the purpose of robilars gambit so you could trip them after the first strike and trip them to prevent the rest of the attack string with a trip?

He is attacking your ally, not you. You redirect the damage, but at no point does he roll to hit your ac. No attack roll is directed at you.

Tripping an enemy does not prevent them from completing a full attack. It imposes the penalties for being prone.and attacking, but does not stop the attacks completely.
