Did you notice in 483, (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0483.html) first page, second to last panel, that the bag of Elan's money was gone? Are hobgoblins notorious thieves? Haley and Belkar clearly state that they regret the missed opportunity of looting buildings, so who could it have been?

Haley snagged it while running past & carrying Roy. She's that good.

He could have, but he normally seems good at keeping details like that.

The hobgoblins probably stole it. Also, I'm donating 4 gp to your signature charities.

The store owner is either dead or evacuated on the boats, i doubt he would have stuck around for the hobgoblin invasion

Nah, I was just bored and made charities for the heck of it. I didn't think anyone would actually donate :smallbiggrin:

Or maybe Elan placed the bag at just such anangle that the mass of coins inside the bag shifted slowly untl it fell and spilled onto the floor inside minutes after Lan and all left it there. So there could a small pile of gold inside the store on the floor just below the window.

The store owner came back and took the gold. I mean, duh, it's been much longer than fifteen minutes since Elan walked by.

Now my question is what the heck that symbol on Elan's bag is supposed to mean....

I believe that symbol would be a dollar sign --> $ <--

What's a "dollar"?

What's a "dollar"?

Best I can figure is that it's some highly stylized symbol for "gp". Something like this:

I tell you, bards are weird.

I think the Giant just forgot. He wouldn't make it disappear without the disappearance being important to the plot or humor.
