I've had a player request some stuff from her character's backstory involving a long-lost father, who I had decided had gone to the frozen north and gotten involved in some Lovecraft-style shenanigans. I think I now want to set this guy as a bard entering into thrall to Dagon, but I'm not exactly certain how I want to do this. A straight bard can enter after 6 class levels (requires 9 ranks of bluff), but as a thought experiment I could do maybe cloistered cleric 5 / divine prestige bard 1 / thrall to Dagon X, for example. I don't know if the divine or arcane path fits the concept of guy who has gone completely over to one of Lovecraft's elder evils, thought the Playground may have some ideas.
