Forum, i come to you with this request:
How does one scale material to a smaller party size?
I have a DM who seems to run official stuff for parties as small as two PCs without any alteration - and suddenly a group of four opponents is almost overpowering against the brave adventurers. I especially dislike the lack of multiattacking a horde of insignificant foes: 5 little runts against one lvl 4 fighter is borderline deadly, not because they’re strong, but because he can only kill up to one per round, so he suffers at least 4+3+2+1= 10 attacks before eliminating them - if only half of them hit for 5 damage, he‘s down 25 of maybe around 35hp, and that’s a problem.
I‘m going to tell him eventually, but i don’t want to criticize without having a (ideally easy and not too time consuming) counterproposal. So please, playgrounders, share your ideas.
