Rules.
1. All books used
2. No house rules
3. Standard stats 15,14,13,12,10,8
4. Any race
5. No magic items
6. Each class level is level 8 just to use average
7. Feats allowed accordingly to rules

Which class does more dpr against a standard lvl 10 creature which I’m not sure to list
Mage with damage spells compared to saves or no saves ( usually at higher level encounters have a better save )
Or a warrior with whatever weapon you choose
Hope I’m wording this right

This work has already been done: go read Kryx's numbers (https://goo.gl/o8yKNV).

Offhand, I believe martials tend to have higher single-target DPR than casters. GWF, GWM and PAM and the way to go. Dunno if the hexblade has anything to say about that.

Do you mean sustained damage, or burst of damage?

A Nova is what happens when a PC uses a bunch of their resources up to do a lot of damage in a short time.
DPR over time is usually what happens when a PC isn't using up their resources, and just is using normal Attacks, abilities and Cantrips.

Wizards' spells are usually used to target multiple enemies, and frequently disable them rather than doing HP damage.
Fighters multiple attacks can be used to pound on one or two enemies at a time.

Fighter's most likely going to win extended DPR vs one target.
Depending on wizard's spell choice, the wizard might win a nova vs one target.
