In Eberron CS, there's a Warforged Artifact called the Circlet of Preservation. It grants your warforged a Regen value, stores their mind/soul on death, and wearing one with another warforged's mind in it lets you swap between minds (gaining access to the knowledge and presumably class features & skills of the other mind)
Long story short, I'm trying to think of a way to replicate the mind-swap effects, but as a wondrous item instead of an Artifact. The regen isn't important, and the automatic soul capture of the wearer is nice, but not necessary.
I know Wondrous items can deviate from their feature spell's normal function, so the best spell I could think of so far was Magic Jar.
Is Magic Jar a good choice to replicate the effects? Are there any better spells anyone can think of? Would the DMG price of a continuous wondrous item (90k) be reasonable?
I'd appreciate some feedback or alternate ideas =)
