I've seen some threads where a person (let's say Person A) makes a comment. In the responses, folk mention in a somewhat derogatory way that this type of question/comment is common for Person A. Most do discuss the topic, and sometimes it honestly seems like a fair comment to add some context in interpretation, but it always seems to be
1) bringing up past threads, which seems to violate the External/Personal Baggage rule in the Forum Rules; and
2) be flaming of some sort, since it is a (even if true--not saying it is, but just it might be) negative statement about a forum-goer.

For example, this thread here has some negative statements about the creator of the thread (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?550178-Why-Sandbox-is-a-meaningless-phrase). I've seen worst examples, though, when people say to basically disregard a forum-goer because they just post problematic, argumentative stuff.

Is the 'social dynamic' going on here against the forum rules?

Is the 'social dynamic' going on here against the forum rules?Sheriff: Yes. People are free to think whatever they want about another poster or respond (within the Forum Rules) based on their perception of a poster across threads, but they need to leave those other threads (or things external to the forum) out of the current discussion.
