So...Dragon 342 has Core Initiate feats for the core deities. Races of Destiny has Initiate feats for some core deities. Both have a disclaimer that a character can have only one initiate feat.

BUT!

Core Initiate and Initiate feats aren't the same type of feats! Problem solved!

Seriously, though...the feats have different prerequisites and different benefits. I don't see any problem with allowing a character to have both; they don't seem overpowered. But I'm soliciting opinions. Has anybody used both of these or had any problems with them?

I haven't ever played them or, DMed them, but I have seen them played and it didn't seem to be a problem.

Anybody else used either type of initiate feats?

I've allowed both sources, but never at the same time.

Also I think I modified the ones in RoD, and added new ones to match the other gods present in the campaign. Dragon Magic and one of the Faerun books also have more examples of Initiate feats, and the Dragon Magic set seem to have been the best in terms of balance.

The ones in Dragon Magazine range from garbage to very strong, so I'd suggest giving each one of them a long hard look if you want to use them as examples in your game.
