For example, if you're wielding a greatsword, and have an ability that grants "a bonus to damage rolls" in the amount of your proficiency bonus, is that 2d6+prof or 2d6+profx2? What about criticals? And abilities (e.g., Hex), that add additional rolls?

Specifically, I'm looking at the Hexblade Curse. Obviously this can't be used with a greatsword, but it CAN be used with criticals, with Hex, and-- most importantly-- with Eldritch Smite. Alternatively, what about Eldritch Blast?

So I have a lvl 9 Hexblade who has never actually used his Curse, because I keep forgetting about it. But if/ when I do, do I get +4 damage for every individual attack, or for every die that is rolled for that attack?

You add static bonuses to total result of all dice rolls. They are not doubled by critical hits.
