mimicking ravenlofts Create Device feat with PAO

Is there anything that would suggest that you couldn't create devices normally crafted through the feat Create Device in the ravenloft book Legacy of the Blood using polymorph any object? While they do mimic the abilities of magic items, they are explicitly nonmagial items

It's the stinkiest of cheese but I cannot see why it wouldn't work.

You can pull a similar trick in PF with the technological items in the Technology Guide as they are also explicitly not magic items but can emulate magic item effects.

buying a 1 charge wand (bring da fetta) of pao would allow you to turn anything into a use activated cl whatever item of wish or whatever else tickles you. stinky indeed
