View Full Version : Use for lower level spell slots?

I'm currently playing a level 14 wizard, which is personally the highest I've ever gotten a character to. Something I'm running into though is a surplus of level 1 and 2 spell slots that I don't really know what to do with. Obviously utility spells are still nice, but it still feels like I'm not maximizing the use of them. What do you do with a high level character and their low level spell slots?

Why not use low level spells?

Little encounters don't require your biggest spells.

This won't solve everything, but you can give yourself/familiar/ anyone else in your party mage armor at the start of the day. That could be a couple first level spells used each day for a decent AC increase.

Well first off, SHIELD! :)

But seriously, there are some useful low-level spells that don't scale that you can keep on hand. The aforementioned Shield, Feather Fall, Prot from Evil/Good, Blur, Invisibility, Mirror Image(a personal fave), Misty Step, etc.
