December 21, 2012 AD, An Alternate Dimension

You awaken in a house which seems to be your own on the inside, but there's something different. You are arranged in a neighborhood, nay, an entire town which isn't your own. The power is on outside, there are automobiles and businesses surrounding the area. You are alone in your place of residence, but certain things are noticeably still there. The electric power and running water still works, you might not notice anything wrong at first, but then things suddenly start to change. Some of you who live with others notice no one is there. Nearby your neighborhood there is a noticabely fancy restaurant, a hospital, a great park and gazebo with food vendors, a large University Campus and a large mall. No matter what time line you originally came from, the date is, in fact, December 21, 2012. Nothing out of the ordinary seems to happen inside your residence for quite some time, but soon, a young man is seen yelling outside.

"Hello? Is anybody there?" The man was blonde, green eyed and hard bodied, in very good physical condition and apparently lost and confused.

He was performing his regular schedule, while he went on his day. He lived alone as he had for a long time. Ever since he moved out of his parent's house. He had never made it past the first date, and decided to work on his job. Trying to be promoted as much as possible as he could. He had no hopes of getting a girl, and sharing his genes otherwise. He was way too nervous, and on top of that he had only a single friend. Who he rarely saw anymore. He was truly alone in this world, but He was still screaming internally. As the fact there were no people meant that something happened, and he had no idea to react to such a bizarre situation. Should he interact with him? What was happening? Did he do this? Is this good, or bad? He had no idea, so he tried to think through everything. Asking himself what he was willing to reveal, and what he wanted to keep secret This took minutes, but he had no idea how to act besides this. He decided the simple hi, I'm over here was best for an introduction. This might kill him, but he was alone except for this one man, and he had no idea if there was anyone else to trust. So, this seemed to be the best approach. So finally he muttered a basic Hi, I'm over here. this he repeated until he could tell the man could hear him after about 15 seconds after the previous utterance.

The man finally heard the woman named Ji Xu after several moments of looking for any sign of life, and he was thrilled, though he contained his emotions for the moment. The man was still visibly disoriented however, although he appeared relieved. "Ma'am, do you have any idea where we are? Where is this place? I tried to use my cell phone but it won't work.
((Apologies for the tiny post, but I need to go to an appointment. I will be back in two hours, maybe a little more)).

Seeing, and hearing a reply he went forward with the next part of the conversation. This took him only a little bit of time to come up with he was getting better this part of it. Speaking at approximately the same volume he said, I'm a male, but do you know what's happening? He had to figure this out without knowledge he could progress. He had no idea what was happening, but it made him nervous. The thought that everyone could disappear, and he was left. Did the rapture come, and leave him behind? Was he going to be erased from existence like the rest of humanity?... He wasn't certain of anything he was thankful basic utilities were still operational, but, he had no idea what to do. His plan for life needed this to end, but can he stop it? or is this something that should even be stopped? , and he wasn't sure he should trust him.

"My apologies sir, I couldn't see you clearly from the dark out here."
"I was afraid that I was going to ask you what was going on. I seem to be gone from my home, and we're both in this mostly empty place. Maybe we'll get lucky and find out there are a lot more people than just us walking around confused."

He was cautious. Should he? His home was fine, and this man had no knowledge of what was happening. What would be the point of him joining up with him, but he still needed to learn about this place, and that probably meant moving. So, he should leave with him because he might help him gather that info, and it was better in numbers. Though what if he was lying, and he was secretly going to kill him? what about if he wants to kill the others? Is he good enough to help him? What was his plan? alright a plan if he came he needed to learn which probably meant talking to more people, and hoping they weren't going to kill him. So, simple megaphone for increased audibility. This might take a long time, so i should also plot a map course since there is going to be a long walk, but is it better to split up, or work together. He decided to ask him. Hey, have you planned a way for us to approach this?

"Well, erm. . . I can see the lights on in those houses now. I just noticed them all come on. I'm a little confused, and since this seems to be the only block I've seen in a while after searching for some sign of life for a long time, I think it would be a good idea to maybe give one these places a good knock on the door." The man spoke with a somewhat deep voice.

Whiskey yawns and looks out his door. He sees a pair of people talking but everything else looks strange. There is no sign of his parents. He heads to his father's wine cellar and grabs the closest bottle and heads outside to find some more people. He doesn't drink from the bottle, just stuffs it in his backpack.

"Who are you guys?" he asks as he approached the fellows. As he walks towards them, he pulls his long black hair back. He begins to think that this is strange but shrugs it off. No school today I guess.

I'm Ji Xu, who are you?

The man waves his hand. "I would be Jacob. Pleased to meet you."
"Um, so you, do you know why everyone seems to be outside their own home, or rather weirdly, in their home, outside their home at the same time? I'm looking for answers, and this city block seems to be one of the only places that isn't empty in the city. I've been looking for hours."

"My guess is that the Rapture was a lot quieter than I expected, and YHWH proved to be his normal competent self."

Jonathan seems oddly calm for his statement as he drifts in on a push bike, letting his bike coast to a near stop before breaking near the group, looking around slowly.
"Plus another coincidence in us all showing up here shortly one after another."

"Oh thank God, another one. You know I don't know who but SOMEONE is in huge trouble for all this! Why would anyone kidnap us but take our whole house with us? That doesn't make any sense." Jake states.
Suddenly a mysterious blue streak, like lightning but without thunder strikes the street that everyone is standing on. A man in a white tuxedo appears before you, and he appears to be carrying a white cane. "Good evening. I can tell you all are experiencing grave confusion. I have been sent to tell you all why, and what is going on. You are all no doubt bewildered to no end, beyond even just "confused". "Confused" must be an understatement of the millennium."
"All of you, simply call me "Howard". I now ask that you, well ASK away. What do you need to know?"

Wake up. Morning routine. Get dressed-...why is the dojo so quiet? Yup. I'm not imagining things. There is NO sound coming from downstairs. Quickly grabbing a few snacks and stuffing them in my bag, I quickly get dressed and go downstairs. None of my family is there, and no students either. What the hell? This is getting spooky. Before I can think further, I hear voices coming from outside. Rushing out I find myself in a neighborhood nothing like I'm used to. The hell is going on here?

Looking around I notice a couple of other people, as I being to approach them a blue streak strikes the street and a man in a white tuxedo appears and speaks. I listen as 'Howard' speaks and asks us to speak our mind. I quickly approach the group and shout out to 'Howard'. "Yeah! You can start by telling me what the hell is going on and how I can get out of this mess!"

Lydia's morning started out pretty normal. She woke up, glanced over at the clock, saw that she'd woken up a good half-hour earlier than usual, then shrugged and decided she didn't feel tired, so she might as well get up and start getting ready for work anyway. She took her time in the shower, then waited for her toast to pop, a cup of milk-loaded coffee in hand, sparing her tiny apartment's single window a single glance while she waited.

Only 30 seconds in, Lydia looked back out the window, confirmed what she had saw, and concluded that she probably wouldn't be going to work today.

Stepping outside to look around more, she quickly spotted several people in the middle of the street. As she went over to talk to them, 'Howard' appeared, and another guy ran up and started yelling at him. Fairly understandable, given that the other guy was apparently in the same situation as her.

As she reaches the group, she speaks with utter calmness, "Well, I figure we're getting abducted, although I don't know that for sure. So I'm just wondering 'why'?"

Elena Urbina isn't really a morning person. Her entire adult life has been a series of experiments trying to figure out how little time she can spend on her hair and makeup and still look presentable. Braiding her hair helps; she can do it at night after she washes it, and it'll usually stay put while she's asleep. Makeup is more about cutting corners. Just a little around the eyes usually does it. Her eyebrows needed to be trimmed this morning, which cost a few frustrated minutes but isn't a disaster. At least she doesn't have to shave her lip like her aunt does. She dons her glasses and descends her apartment's stairwell, carrying the same black bag that she used in college. Tablet, keys, credit card holder, multitool and first aid kit that her parents got her for Christmas... it's pretty heavy, which is good because the walk to work is the closest thing she gets to regular exercise.

The stairwell abruptly ends after one floor and leads directly outside. From across the street, the rest of our heroes can see a woman with a short brown jacket leave a small duplex and stop in her tracks.

Her brow furrows. Did she just... forget about the rest of the stairs? And the security desk, and the vending machines? Granted, she doesn't usually pay that close attention, but...

She looks around to get her bearings. The shortstairs went ahead and dumped her on an empty alien sidewalk, outside of an alien building in an alien town. Elena feels like she's had this dream before, up to including the talk about, 'abductions.' That would certainly explain why her phone's clock is messed up.

She approaches the group to listen better to the ongoing Q&A session. "Uh, hello. Sorry I'm late? What's going on?"

"None of you were abducted. Gentlemen, gentlewomen, I am he named C'baoth, Lord of the Universe. You may not have heard of me, or you may."
"I am not God, however. Though I know him."
"All of you are hand picked to enter the new world, which is a dimension connected with this one. The year is 2018, but the year is also 2012. The laws of time and space are different here, in this place, and in this point of time. We call this place, "The End Of Time". People are waking up here from all over the universe and entering the city here. Subconsciously, on the deepest level of your psyche, you chose to come here, all of you. You did not know what you were doing, or, in a way, you did not know how you got here or why you wanted to get here, but you are here now."
Somehow, you knew that you needed to be here, although you didn't know why, but I can tell you why."

"I asked you if you wished to Awaken. Each of your past lives, called, "Souls", all gave their permission to come here, in order to be alive once again. Then, all you needed to make this an actuality was your subconscious permission to be more than what you are, to realize who you are, to realize THE TRUTH!" Each of you feel your past lives awaken inside you, all of them seem be speaking at once. Then suddenly, the voices grow silent, as if waiting to speak with each of you personally. The power surges through you, and you also begin to feel a sense of wholeness you've been missing for your whole lives. Any physical conditions and other maladies find themselves GONE.

Just after midnight, as her phone said. Elena thought that it had just reset right after she woke up, but no. She is back in a time before she went to bed. Several years before she went to bed, if we're to be honest. And if it's nighttime, that means she's either asleep, or she's online. Either way, she doesn't have to be herself. And if it's 2012 again...

Hmm, what is this feeling...
'The End of Time.' Somehow I always knew I'd have a hand in it.

Howdy, Elena! Golly, it sure does feel good to have a soul inside us again, huh? Now come on! We have some serious trolling to catch up on.

Alright alright. what should i ask a man who just taught me that magic was real? there's got to be something. Wait is he a good guy, or is he going to kill us? no, what's the question. right the last line could work right? but then it would seem like i'm repeating myself. hmm, umm what about just asking hey what do you know I'd like to know everything about this whole situation. yes plain, and simple might work. Wait someoen just showed up wait what? That doesn't make sense we have older souls? but we should only have one soul, an reincarnation is real? that never made sense to me there were just too many humans right now for the souls to come from the past, but if he says it's true how does that work out? Wait is he lying? but, if he is i don't think i should question him. So, what do i do?
Heh
surprisingly little conversation erupted. The serious one was the only one wanting to talk while one tried to shush her, and the other speaking only one word was really quiet.
Wait who said that?
I'm Rossweisse a previous soul of yours.
I'm Panther, and I offer you strength endurance, expertise in combat, and keen intellect. If I spot deceit i'm going to tell you about it. Now, I'm fond of the nice, and quiet, so you really need to think less,
and act more.

Mizore
I'm sorry, but get used to it. This is my mind, and I need it to not mess up out there. So i get expertise i ncombat, and intellect, but how do you physically increase my abilities?.
Simple once we are awakened. We give you our power. I change form, and gain these attributes. Meaning you transform, and gain these attributes. Simple as that.
Wait like the hulk?
Yes like the hulk except i keep my intelligence.

Jacob looked towards the others with a far away look. He appeared interested. Looking around his area, he couldn't help but notice other houses lit up on the other side of the block, where he noticed the other areas where our protagonists came. He thought for a moment once again, blinking in rapid succession.
The Voices

"This cannot be! I cannot be dead! I am not conjurer of cheap tricks. I AM MURDAW!"
"Well Murdaw, you must listen. You can't control that which is beyond your reach. We've been over this before. I served Blackhorn because it was a joy to indulge myself in his evils. You served Mortamor for power. If you would have served in order to simply incline yourself towards pleasure, there would have been little loss served in your death."
Murdaw would have spat if there was a place to spit.
Akira blinked. "How is it that I have wound up with two evil spirits as my past selves, or, as far as I know, my future selves? What kind of disappointment is this?"
Merlin sighed. "Well that makes two of us. I am Merlin, nor am I a conjurer of cheap tricks, but I tell you I died for something greater than petty evil or some such madness. I died for the return of the Old World."

Jake looked curious and even more inquisitive.
"Merlin, I recognize you, you're from that Excalibur movie. . . a powerful wizard who could survive his own death."
"And you, Akira, also a wizard, capable of resurrecting the dead."
"Thorndog, a powerful sorcerer in his own right, capable of fearsome transformations, binding spells and other such interesting abilities."
"Lastly we have Murdaw, capable of turning people into stone, and merging the world of dreams with the world of reality. A truly great sorcerer if I recall."

W...what in the world just happened? I feel...good. Better than I've ever felt in my life! Of course that feeling lasts for all of a second before the voices in my head start talking...

"Pathetic. THIS is the shell in which my soul is now stored? Cede control to me, weakling, and perhaps I shall allow you to bathe in my future glory!" The first voice in my head - or is it my soul now? - speaks in an arrogant tone. But there is power behind that voice, a great amount. I get flashes of a powerful warlord carving through his foes with his saber, I see him practice dark and horrifying sorcery, and bringing down a spaceship with naught but his own power...

"I wouldn't do that if I was you, buddy. This guy's 'soul' is screaming saturday morning cartoon villain. Hard to believe I have anything to do with him." The second voice is friendly and steady, like an older brother or good friend, but behind the casual dialogue is a spine of steel. At first this soul glows only faintly, but as the first voice speaks, this one flares up with energy. Martial arts, east-west-north-south, all under his command, a mere human capable of channeling the awesome energies of his body to strike and harm those so far above him...

The 3rd presence is silent for a time before shining brightly with a stern golden energy that outshines the glow of the other two. "Silence! Order shall reign! I, Dr. Fate, servant of Nabu, the Lord of Order, command it!" For a moment, silence reigns in my soul before the golden light dims a bit and the previous voice continues somewhat sheepishly. "...Is what I want to say, but this isn't my body. I'm sure you have a lot of questions, young man. From what I can gather, we are past lives of yours from different timelines and universes and we have been awoken for some greater purpose. It will be up to you to make use of the powers we provide." Power and knowledge radiate from this third soul and the dignified voice reminds me of an old college professor or scientist.

"HAH! You two are free to be servants. The Dark lord of the Sith serves no one!"

In the real world, I'm forced onto one knee as a sharp searing pain rocks my head. I can feel the dark, red soul of Tulak Hord - it seems I know who they are, on an instinctive level - trying to force control over me. For a brief moment I wonder if perhaps I should just give up control. But I refuse. I don't rightly know whats going on, but I do know I'm in control. I'm not letting some past 'me' tell me what to do! With a sense of determination I force myself to stand tall and deep in my soul, force Hord into compliance.

"What? You would deny me?" "Yes, yes I would. And that goes for the rest of you as well. Feel free to give me advice, but I'm in control and don't you lot forget that!." "Not bad, kid. Thought I'd have to help you out a little there." The soul of the Iron Fist sends me a feeling of approval as does the soul of Dr. Fate. Hord's soul flares for a moment before I get a grudging sense of acceptance from it. "Fine! I shall accept my position for now..."

Cursing under my breath at the situation life has seemingly handed me, I take a deep breath to calm myself down a little and turn to C'baoth. "So, C'baoth or Howard, whatever you prefer. I still don't fully understand whats going on, but why did you bring us here and why awaken these...past lives of ours? For what purpose?"

Giants. Sure. Now, when you say, 'this time...'

Hehe, don't be so modest, Elena! We both know we've done this before. Even if the details are a little hazy...

Somehow, Elena really does seem to have a pretty good handle on her situation. By contrast, this other girl seems to have it pretty bad, clutching her head and visibly arguing with herself.

"There are others awakening in this great game of chess. Also , when I say omnipotent, I am speaking in hyperbole. You are among the first of many others who are awakening in the city, enjoy all the comforts of your home. I personally built this city through psychokinetic reality manipulation. Thank you. Also no. Why did those swords appear? Wait are they mine, or it someone else's? why would swords appear in the first place? Are they safe to pick up? Why are they so large? This literally looks impossibly large, but why would weapons appear in the first place? I mean literally speaking these are about 3 stories tall? How can these be useful at all? I mean physics wise that just doesn't make sense right? Besides that how am i supposed to carry these? I mean I'm screwed right? Why the heck would someone have two swords like these? I mean dual wielding them would just be ineffective, and i didn't get a ridiculous place to put them. As

Hmmm... How many people are here? They just keep appearing. This last one though... He is quite a spectacle. Lord of the Universe. Awful full of himself. Then again I don't know where I am so might as well assume he has some idea of what he is talking about. Wait... Awaken? He does know I am awake right?

That's when stuff gets weird. People dropping to their knees. Giant swords appearing and strange rambling about gods.

"Remember subtlety when you can. Surpress your power.
Don't test it until you are alone. We need to find an apprentice. The rule of two must be preserved for our order to prevail."
"You remind me a little of my brother but I like the way you think. Don't say anything. About who we are. We don't know who else is here."
"Do you have the dagger boy?
We can do a lot but we must protect the dagger."

Whiskey pats himself down and discovers a number of potentially interesting things. But leaves them where they are. Then he looks to the stranger claiming incredible power.

"Beyond being incredibly vague, do you have any useful information about what we are going to,be doing? Like are we going to do something now or are we going to bust open the wine and finish this cocktail party somewhere else?"

"Huh." Elena takes another look at the megaswords. "Well, your souls probably belong to a mecha pilot or something... but then, why would you get them without the mecha? So really, it'd have to be some sort of size-changing scenario."

She looks Ji up and down. He's cute, and seems easily flustered. This could be fun. "Well~ if this is anything like an anime, it probably only works when you get really worked up." She approaches the young man with a hand on her hip and gazes into his eyes. "Any ideas~?"

Aw, look at him! So innocent~
Come to think of it, I don't really watch much anime at all...

"Oh yeah, baby. You're looking good. Got that pre-workout glow. You are going to nail this date just like you nailed that birdhouse you gave her." There was a moment of silence as Jonathan flexed to his mirror "In the literal sense that is."
Jonathan or Mr. Gale as he was called at work was hyping himself up for a date. This was a fairly normal activity for him. Jonathan once went to a self-esteem seminar that taught people to "Say something good about yourself before any big event". Which may have been good advice for someone that actually did have low self-esteem but Jonathan was not one of those people. The advice stuck anyway. As he got dressed into a dress shirt and slacks he exited the door and noticed that
"This ain't my yard! This ain't even my Town, and none of youse is my date!" He was going to ask followup questions but was silenced when some guy started talking about reincarnations. His mind started to wander thinking about what actually happened to him because this guy was clearly crazy. That was until several souls were suddenly and forcibly shoved into his body and head. His very first reaction was to simply shout.
"Holy ****! There are voices in my head!"

You should try being on the other side. Learning that you're a voice in someone's head is even worse.
I'm pretty sure we're a bit more than just voices, soldier. This feels a lot like my old body, and that isn't natural
This is a pretty good body actually. Though your biceps need some work.
Jonathan started flexing uncontrollably before quickly stopping.
Stop that!
The others in his head just went on talking. Jonathan took a deep breath that sent orange sparks across his skin.
Hey, I think you might be on to something, Gramps. Those are definitely my lungs and my Hamon.
That's some strong stuff your... What did you call it, Hamon? Puts a real spring in your step even for an old super soldier like me.
Hey, listen. This is cool and all! But I don't want three voices in my head every time I take a piss.
Come on! We can live in Hamony!"
The other three gave a disapproving look to the joker for the awful pun.
Trust me. We'd all get like more time seperate from you if we could.
As it stands though, the deal seems to be that you get our body and you get our powers.
Wait, I have powers?

Mr Gale, usually slow on the uptake looked over to the others and the giant sword. "Holy hell. Do we all got super powers. That's freaking awesome if we do. Hey, you think I can lift this giant sword now?"

"Hmm..."

Elena overhears the Cthulhu talk while her flirting target is still trying to figure out what to do. She turns around and leaves Jin to address the new conversation. Her work is probably done here, anyway.

"Killing gods is simple, really! You just murder all of their unwitting cultists to weaken them, then kill everything in their fancy monster palace. Once they're defenseless, you walk up to them and gloat about how much better you are at being a god than they are until they finally keel over from embarrassment."

She restrains herself from giggling, but you can tell she wants to. She can't get all the way through that goofy explanation with a straight face.

"Orrr, we can just go to the God-city-place and hit them repeatedly for several butt-tons of damage. You don't know it yet, but it turns out we're all reaaaally good at that. You'll see."

Unlike some others, there's no obvious outwards change with Johnathan, other than the fact one side of his face is redder from slapping it repeatedly, and he's got some sort of bulky computor on his wrist. Honestly, he's just pleased that the voices... ______________

As I watch the proceedings (and worry over having to take on GODS) and watch others receive equipment that their previous 'souls' used, I find myself bathe in a mix of golden and dark red light. After a moment and a flash, I find I have my own equipment now. A Golden helmet sits atop my head and I feel power flow through my very being.

"The Helmet of Fate and the main source of all my power." Dr. Fate explains in my head. "Without it you can still conjure spells, but you'll be that much weaker. With the helmet...magic of every kind is at your disposal. Take care, young man, such power is not for the weak of heart or will." He warns.

At my side is a masterfully crafted and ornate lightsaber. As I activate what I had previously thought was a weapon from fiction, it lights up and bathes the surrounding in a dim red glow. The saber itself courses with a dark power that sends a shudder up my spine. This is no ordinary Sith Lord or Jedi Master's weapon. Sith Sorcery is afoot and amplify the weapon. The same can be said of the rest of my garb. Armored shoulder plates, chestguard, gauntlets, greaves, boots and combat pants. The armor is strong, yet flexible and courses with dark side energy. I feel...strong, yet also somewhat terrified of this power.

"Ahh...my old armor and lightsaber. Too good for the likes of you, boy. The armor is resistant to all manner of attacks and a lightsaber makes a joke of most forms of physical defense. The sorcery coursing through them only amplifies their power. Thousands fell to this equipment and my power and thousands more - and uncountable fortunes - were lost in search of them. Do not waste my gifts, boy. A helmet was also included but I see you have a replacement...and a powerful replacement indeed! 'Dr. Fate' is what this other soul is called? We may have more in common than I thought before..." The voice of the Dark lord of the Sith flows through my mind. Dr. Fate's voice flares up with disgust as he responds, "I am nothing like you!" The only response to that is an ominous laugh from the Sith.

"Sorry, Kid. I got no cool gadgets or toys for you. Only a deep knowledge of nearly all of the martial arts and how to use weapons. Oh yeah, and how to manipulate your Chi of course." The voice of the Iron Fist echos in my soul, half sincere half joking. The other two souls are somewhat overbearing in their nature, to put it mildly. Iron Fist...I think I like the man. I'd have loved to meet him in person. "You're already giving me more power than I ever thought possible. And you keep these two other guys in check, in my soul, as well. I should be the one apologizing, I feel a guy like you should have a better descendant." I reply in thanks. "Don't worry about it. Go out there and give it your best. As for these other two? Yeah, I guess I do keep them in check. Leave them to me and do your thing, Kid. Good luck."

As I think on my new powers and equipment, I hesitantly give them a try. Nothing fancy. The gold of my helmet contrasts badly with the black and silver of my new armor. A change in color is in order. Tapping into the powers at my command I...use these great powers to change the color of my helmet to black. Ok. Not the most impressive use of my powers, but in my defense I'm still learning. Also I don't see any target here that I can practice on.

"I still think you could've made better choices for 'soldiers' to take on Gods, Howard. But it looks like we'll be going down with style, at least." Oh man, that voice amplifier. Uhh...don't modify my voice? And boom just like that my voice goes back to normal. Huh... "Ah, thats better. I sound like a villain with that voice."

(OOC - Can't post links or images yet. For the helmet, search for Dr. Fate from Injustice 2, the armor search for Tulak Hord and for the voice check out Dr. Fate's clips from Injustice 2)

Igniting my lightsaber, I go through the various lightsaber forms of combat with Tulak Hord simultaneously instructing me and insulting me. Surprisingly Doctor Fate (the soul, not me) has comments of his own as well, namely on the topic of the sorcery enhancing my saber. It'll take a while - more time than we have now at least - but apparently he thinks that with time Sith Sorcery and his own brand of Order Magic could very well combine and create enhancements stronger than if only one of the two was used. Those who would step in the Temple would notice a green light illuminating the undersea temple. The priests and cultists, at least in part, were Human. Some needed dry, or only partially wet atmospheres to function. Other areas needed dryness in order to store important objects. In the first great hallway, there seemed to be a strange crystal pedestal, where a white light contrasted with all the green. It would seem her souls were not currently speaking to her, probably because she did not acknowledge them. She cracker her neck and looked around at the other participants, it appeared nobody else was taking the first step so she laid her sword on her shoulder and started walking to the opened portal. She muttered to herself, "Not that I have to keep these powers though"

"Hey, wait up!"

Elena, having only just returned from her apartment - she said she had to go do something and would not clarify further - quickly converges on the portal to the Adventure Zone and follows the weird girl inside. It does not lead to the hectic battlefield she was expecting. She spends a moment staring at the statuary and at the Bioshock-style glass ceiling, then suddenly realizes she's been holding her breath and exhales sharply.

"Phoo... I guess this is going to be more of a slow-burning fight. Is it safe to assume you're okay with smashing that crystal?"

She does a quick 360-degree overview of their surroundings, mainly checking for an exit. This place was clearly built to accommodate air-breathers, so it must have some kind of entrance for them - and by extension, an exit for us should this place start collapsing or something.

Tech Marine shakes his head after the teleportation, a clunky and unrefined looking laser rifle in hand, it's side etched in runes. He held it in his right hand pointing towards the ground in a carefree manner, with his left hand likewise hanging loose as he walked into the room, head swiveling.

"I'm going to go out on a limb and say don't touch anything. Particularly strange crystals."

To the far south of the great hall the party has entered, is a great arched doorway, leading to the undersea port. Suddenly, from the port, and to the north and all around you, robed cultists start to gather around the party. Many are deep ones, star spawns or Humans with an affiliation or alliance with Cthulhu, Dagon and Cyaegha. Within moments, the party will be surrounded by thousands of cultists, who don't seem to notice the assembled infiltrators yet. One particular cultist, however, begins to walk towards the party, he hasn't alerted the others yet, what do you do?

So... should we stop them?

But I want to see what happens!
It's a ritual, right? You have to wait until the horror of what they're doing sinks in, then break it up at the last moment. That's how it always works.
If our goal is to kill an elder god, and these chumps are here to summon said elder god, then really, aren't they just making our job easier?

(Oh hey, Revan's orange now. I like it.)
(Thanks, I guess. I still don't remember which color lightsaber I used, but this kind of feels right.)

The lady with the maroon jacket stays quiet and steps aside to let the cultist past, supposing them to be the leader of whichever ceremony is being held here.

Unless Shizuku goes bonkers and starts smashing stuff, in which case we are definitely all in on smashing stuff.

Mr. Gale walked into the portal after having practiced with some of his powers. He now came with Captain America's shield, a large Desert Eagle to his side, and a couple of bottles of delicious beverage that aren't name brand coco cola in his loosely defined pockets.
As a cultist walked up to the group, Broad Steel immediately pulled out his gun as one of the voices agreed. He stopped shortly afterwards though.
Hey, what do you think we're doing! The entire bloody building will hear us if you shoot that.
There was a moment of silence. Use the shield instead.
And take his clothes! No one will be able to recognize us if we put on the enemy's clothes.
With a mighty throw, Broad Steel throws his vibranium shield into to the distance at the cultist.

Tech marine stood still as he watched the cultists. He remembered fighting armies, but a surprise army is a surprise.
And then someone threw their shield, so the 'what comes next' was rendered into one answer.
"Ok then. Let's do this quickly!"

And with that, Tech Marine opened up, bracing only slightly as he brought his laser rifle to bear, the very air cracking as it was violently blown apart by the energies channeled through it, red light blasting into cultists.

My hands move skillfully as memories of a spell from Dr. Fate come lunging into my brain. With an explosion of golden light I unleash as much sorcerous energy as I can and form a magic shield around every one of us.

That done, I proceed to blast the cultists with bolts of sorcerous energy.

"Mom? Dad! Katie?" he hollers, as he makes his way through the house looking for anybody. But nobody came. 'cause nobody's there, kid

He makes his way out of the house and through this strange neighborhood his house is now in, unnerved, looking for somebody, anybody else, but is unable to find most anybody.

...and then he hears a voice calling through the streets, and calls back. "Hello?!"

Temple of R'lyeh

The captain's shield finds its target with a satisfying *CLANG*, knocking the cultist backwards and leaving them splayed out on the cold stone floor. The gathering host of faceless robes pauses and looks toward the center of the temple, silently regarding their fallen comrade.

Then, everything starts moving in fast-forward.

Behind the shield-wielder, someone starts firing a laser gun into the crowd. A small group of robes rush toward the red light, directly at their attacker. On some combination of instinct and programming, Tech Marine adjusts his aim to spray at the approaching enemies, only to have a magical barrier spring into existence in front of him. Thankfully, it only absorbs a few wasted shots rather than reflecting them right back in Tech Marine's face, but in the instant it takes to peek around the translucent cover three swift cultists have already swarmed into melee. A spidery green hand reaches around the barrier to swipe at Tech Marine's arm.

Similarly, Dr. Fate finds that each cultist targeted by his eldritch blasts quickly breaks off from the group and rushes in to confront him. If he's particularly observant, he may even notice that they seem to begin this movement before his attack connects - perhaps even before the crackling energy leaves Naqash's hand. It might take another instant to make sense of this information, of course.

The rest of the cultists seem content to follow the same path as before, albeit at a quickened pace. They file in from unseen entrances above and in the shadows, then follow a set path along the wall of the temple before proceeding en masse right up to Broad Steel. On inspection, they seem to be following a pattern of red tiles set in the temple floor, a path guiding their procession to the crystal-bearing altar. Broad Steel and the group behind him just happen to be standing in their way.

Also of note, the robes just push past a confused Elena and step over the KO'ed shield chump. In fact, anyone not directly interfering with the procession seems to be paid the least possible amount of attention by the cultists.

"Huh... I guess they're really only interested in the crystal thing..."

You can tell by her wrinkled forehead that Elena's not really made sense of this so far. She's not even holding a weapon yet.

Eek!

An unnaturally thin teen girl dressed in a yellow summer dress suddenly appears in midair near the window Elena lounges in. She lets loose an undignified squeak as she drops the short distance to the floor. She recovers swiftly and begins talking quickly, very quickly.

"Oh you found another one Elena! HI! Im Ninnette, but most people call me "Nins" nice to meet you!"

"Nins" suddenly shifts to being stood in front of Alex hand out stretched as though to shake hands. on her hand is a thick brown leather glove with 3 inch blades sticking our from each of the finger tips.

"Good news! I found a portal out of here. Bad news is it looks kinda sorta-ALOT like an eldritch portal to hell aaaand it sounds like theres a lot of screaming and shooting on the other side."

"Stick to the red tile. We don't know if the rest of the place is trapped."

By the time Steel finishes this sentence, the red tile path is so densely packed with the robed figures that that course might not be feasible unless you're taking the path toward the altar. Depending on his definition of aggressive, his pistol may be getting a lot of use, too.

Most cultists buckle to one or two hits. Some of them are clearly taller and tougher than others, though their robes conceal anything else that might have helped tell them apart. If Steel shoots down a cultist attacking an ally, another from the crowd breaks off to get at him. At the same time, a dense wave of cultists is already threatening to trample him; as it stands, even the more peaceful ones are shoving past and joining the larger fray.

Meanwhile, the dirobed cultist left behind by the two-frame clothing theft is a sickly-looking older man whose skin was slick with a translucent green mucus. His robe is gross and uncomfortable to wear. You can feel that stuff seeping into your regular clothes underneath.

Despite the surging crowd, the cultists dashing and dropping left and right, and some enterprising enemies bumping into her as they tried to cut in line, Elena has mostly managed to stay out of it this whole time. It was actually pretty fascinating to watch the group take down the cultists as quickly as they have done, though it probably didn't hurt that the bad guys were literally lining up for it.

She does kind of get surrounded in the process, of course. She's not sure whether Tech Marine can see her over here, what with the wall of cultists between them...

"Erk!"

She dives to the side and dodges the shockwave, but this proves counterproductive when the ground around her erupts into flames.

"Ahh! Ssss!" Toxic springs to her feat and runs to rejoin the group with visible embers burning her clothes. She rips off her jacket and slaps it into a cultist who was having the same idea. By the time she gets behind a Fate Shield and manages to put herself out, it's burned through part of her skirt and left visible damage on her arms and legs. "Rrgh! Damn it!"

Meanwhile, the ghostly fire swiftly spreads from robe to robe until the entire temple is bathed in flickering blue light. When Toxic looks up and sees it, it's hard for her to stay mad. When she sees the shoggoths finally start seeping in, it helps her mood even further. She can deal with shoggoths.

...we can?
Of course!
They're slow, dumb, big, squishy targets.

The slow, dumb, big, squishy targets slither into the room more quickly than something so gelatinous rightly should, but still more slowly than the cultists. Their sprawling forms ooze and flop through the carpet of burning robes, smothering the flames as they go along.

"Ha! Now this is more like it!" Toxic reaches into a cloud of black smoke, pulls out a black and gold staff, and swings it in a sweeping gesture. A series of shadowy black figures rise from the flames to join the first elven warrior. Their eyes reflect the fire from which they were conjured like mirrors.

"Get 'em, boys!"

The Dark Links charge through the flames without hesitation and start hacking away at some shoggoths. The monsters don't seem to care about the red tile path, though, so while the shadows can hold off their approach from that direction pretty well, there's still some 320 degrees of vulnerability for us to deal with. Why did they have to warp us right into the center of this domed temple?

After taking a moment to look at the crystal, Tech Marine spins, bracing himself at one side of the pillar as he begins pouring fire into the Shoggoths. It turns out they deal with it about as well as any mindless hunk of meat. Techie's lasers leave their target covered in dark burn marks and reeking of grilled octopus. The shoggoth flinches and gurgles in what one can only assume is pain, but continues lurching forward for a good six seconds of constant laser fire before it finally collapses among the flames.

"I don't think these things are anything special," Toxic says as she readies about her next move. "Their masters might have only one weak point or whatever, but the shoggoths are just big bullet sponges."

To demonstrate her point, she conjures and launches several bursts of white pellets at a nearby monster. The pellets pop in bursts of white light on contact, with similar results to the lasers.

"...which still SUCKS, but it's nothing we can't handle."

"Yeah, just be constant annoying sounds in your head. Ruby, you know any good annoying songs?"
"Uh, ok! I know a song that gets on everybody's nerves-"

He said still nearing the end of his sprint across the tops of cultist's heads occasionally throwing a shield, shooting, or punching somebody.

Nins stand besides Alex staring at the eldritch green portal.

"Did you know"she begins slowly, enraptured,"That the color green wasn't associated with "Evil" magic until the early 1800's when a mysterious force started sending people mad in their own homes, witch fever they called it. Got associated with the green color because all the afflicted had similar greens in their wallpaper. Turns out the copper used to achieve the bright greens had a high concentration of arsenic in it, thus the insanity. Nins takes a deep breath "Anyway enough fun facts for one day" and with that Nins steps into the portal.

--On the other side--

Nins is greeted by the sight of insanity on the other side of the portal. A couple of stranger stood braced behind a golden transparent barrier beyond which a veritable pile of smoldering corpses covered in gore lay around a central crystal. Two figures stood near the crystal, one with a rifle glowing with ghostly runes the other with a massive scythe striking down upon the crystal. The scene seemed to move in slow motion as and only one thought entered Nins head "Am I supposed to protect the crystal from these psychopaths?"

"Heads up! I'm detonating the shield for a big area attack. It'll take a bit of time to get another one going!" Having warned the others, I do exactly that. The shield detonates outwards in a powerful wave of sorcerous energy. Shoggoths caught by the energy begin to sizzle and burn, hopefully its enough to kill a few. In case it isn't, I charge up some Force Lightning in my hands, powerful enough to put Palpatine from the movies to shame and fire off a stream of lightning into as many enemies as I can.

At the back of my head, Hord keeps insisting that I channel even more of my hate and rage into the lightning but I'm still somewhat leery of doing so. As a result, its a powerful attack but not as much as it could be and more taxing than it would be for proper Sith. I might be gimping myself this way, but I figure its better to be slightly weaker and in control of my senses than be absolutely bonkers at full power. Hopefully the others won't notice or chew me out for not going all the way.

Temple of R'lyeh

The sorcerer's spell snuffs out the blue flames in a split-second flash, finishes off any monsters that the rest of the party was fighting and forces the rest back a fair bit. Anyone with the darkvision to see the edges of the temple might note the furthest ones being fused the wall by the burning wave.

The next instant, an-ear piercing screech rings out, enough to drown out the rest of the crashing and gibbering.

*EEEEE-k-k-k-k-shhrrEEEEEEEE-*

Elena flinches and looks up. The sound is coming from the translucent dome ceiling. Several visible crackles, swiftly expanding to cover our view of the dark aquatic landscape above. Water begins to run in at the edges of the temple where the dome was damaged the most.

"You guys are doing this all wrong!" Jacob stated matter of factly as the last Shoggoths started to enter the room from the shadows, and the Crystal was shattered. "Shoggoths are very hard to kill, so let me just turn them into stone!" ::With his hands, he started to wave in arcane gestures and muttered strange words under his lips, as magical energy suddenly transformed four of the hulking abominations into rock statues.:: He levitated himself into the air, avoiding one of the Shoggoth's attacks, a lashing tentacle attempting to sever his head from his body.

Shizuku stood and observed as the others were fighting, she didn't bother defeating any cultists as long as they didn't come too close to her. It seemed most of them had already awakened their abilities, unlike her. She sighed, it wasn't like she was not strong enough without them, or at least that's what she told herself. It seemed the group had small trouble finishing the Shoggoths off, however, this seemed to change when Jacob turned them into stone.

Shizuku finally stopped observing, walked up and gave one of the stoned Shoggoths a kick.

Slowly but surely, the group wears down the Shoggoth incursion through some combination of burning, stoning and chopping them to bits. Elena secretly fears that the chopped-up specimens will melt together and get up as some kind of amalgamated mega-shog, but apparently their inscrutable anatomy doesn't quite support that feature.

Things the shoggoths can do include merging with the walls to make themselves tougher, expanding to completely block all of the exits, and creeping up to fill the cracks in the glass dome above. "Eww... I guess they're trying to keep the dome intact a little longer? Sounds like reason enough for us to collapse it, unless we're waiting for something else..."

Also, the crystal thing on the altar broke somehow. No one even noticed it falling in the big brouhaha, so it's hard to say who or what might have done it. It's sitting on the floor by Shizuku's feet, nothing but a pile of anticlimactic shards.

The stone shoggoth regards her kick with a stoic and peaceful ogle, graciously accepting its deliverance from a life of constant gibbering madness.

"Destroy the Dome? Well, you see that thing is keeping all of the water from getting in here. I can't breathe underwater, and I'm not even sure what we'd do out there if I could. Also, we might be crushed by the pressure. And more importantly, what would we even do out there? Find another glass dome so that we could break in and find another place in this temple. I say we try getting our way through other exits. One of us has to be able to break through the... Slimy Wall creatures that are blocking the other exits."
Broad Steel said all of this while slightly muffled as he struggled with getting the cultist robe he put on off. "Also, I'm disgusting! How was I supposed to know these damn cultists had gross slime on them." He was going around the place, and trying to wipe himself off with any dry part of the other cultist's robes, and or possibly finding a set of dry clothes to change into.

More shoggoths gathered around, this time not from the shadows, not summoned by the crystal, but simply roaming into the area with the others from other places in the Temple. Jacob turned around. "Protect me while I cast a spell. I will restore the broken dome with my magic. Then we can go back and look for how we can defeat the Elder God."

He spread forth his hands. "Ah naal nathrack, uthe be bethutte, doth el envay." Luckily, none of the Shoggoths had targeted the spell caster as he slowly restored the broken glass dome above the battle field. If he hadn't of done that, then the dome would have broken.

Alex floated through the portal, only partially visible. He surveys the field, almost absentmindedly blasting away an attacking shoggoth. "I'll do my best to keep them off you." A knobbly stick whirs into his hands, and with a flick of his wrist, several blasts of red erupted towards the approaching foes. With a snap of his fingers several large goat-skulls appeared, floating menacingly around Jacob, raring to fire at any shoggoth that approached.

"I can't look. I've never seen something so wrong. Everything so broken." Celebrimbor held his hands before his face, struggling to remain within Techmarine instead of walking out in his spirit form.
"Given how good your vision is, I can't blame you." The Sole survivor wanted to look away, but couldn't. It would be too dangerous.

Techmarine's pained face suddenly cleared as he looked towards Cuthulu and the wave of force, and his free hand was almost instantly filled with a spectral, burning blade... Within his mind, time stood still.
The wave crawled, Cuthullu's wings barely beat as Techmarine blurred into action, Pip Boy stims, Elven Magic and Elven Focus breaking time into moments that shouldn't be possible to witness, and rather than be touched by the wave, Techmarine simply re-appeared by Cuthulu's head.

Elven perfection was channelled through an AI's open mind, through to a Mortal's fist, and a blade light by ghostly flame struck out into Cuthulu.

The impossible prince seeped into existence bleeding from the shards of the shattered crystal in the center of the stagnant shrine. His flesh flowed into shape as though a cloud of ink blotted on the paper of reality forming organs whoms dark function could only be guessed at and muscled that layered upon them selves folding infinitely along dimensions unseen. The skeleton caused one of the souls in Nin's mind to wail as it lost itself attempting to intuit its structure. It was almost a relief when the slick green flesh of the creature blossomed across its incomprehensible carcass containing the part of it that bled into this dimension in a shape that sane minds could look upon without breaking instantly and completely.

Nin looked upon the 10 ft tall squid face abomination against reason before her and a name came to her mind that caused her stomach to tighten and her mouth to fill with the saline fluid of intense nausea; Cthulhu the Sleeping Prince had awoken.

Nin stood frozen as the others who she had assumed were other awoken started moving into action. A man with a silvered black helmet and armor gesticulated wildly and spake tounges and a translucent golden barrier’s were conjured around all of the awoken. The armored mage collapsed in exhaustion.

Nin regained her mental footing. The man was clearly in need of medical attention if he were to maintain the barrier’s for much longer, and Nins still had the sack of coffee for some reason.

“Looks like someone needs a pick me up” Nins grins at the armored mage and lays her left hand on the exposed skin of his neck, not wasting time on the inconsequentialism of permission.

Immediately she is struck with a near overwhelming amount of information on the armored mages body.

Body Fat: 3%.
Muscular system: low level microscaring as is consistent for age. Lactic acid concentrations normal.
Skeletal system: minor microfractures as is consistent for age.
Heart rate: 140 bpm Extremely Elevated.
Adrenaline: Present in large concentrations.
Blood oxygen: 98% depleted.
Blood glucose: 98% depleted.
Brain chemistry: Dopamine depleted, Serotonin normal.
Irregular but benign cells found, seem to function as biological antenna? Pervasive throughout body.

Diagnosis: Experiencing high levels of stress and suffering from exhaustion.

Cthulhu intones something that reverberates through Nin, yet the meaning is lost to shock as the now clear crystals start slowly floating to reassemble themselves into their original whole form. The walls in the arches behind the old one open with a wet tearing noise and from them falls a torrent of slick flesh slithering in tangles of irregular tentacles and ancient glowing eyes.

Nins focuses on the task at hand, the body can’t metabolise it's fat deposits in time for the mage be relevant to this fight. Increasing metabolism massively would allow a quick recovery from the exhaustion but depleting body fat to 0 would quickly prove fatal. In short, not enough excess biomass present.

Nins blinked, the armored mage was indeed incredibly lean. Luckily the heaps of biomass formerly known as cultists 342-497 around her feet were full of fat, their blood was well oxygenated too. The manic grin on Nins face wided as several tentacles rose from her back, she started humming.

♫“Ohhh I get by with a little help from my friends..”♫
The tentacles plunged down.

To Nins right Elana TAUNTS the eldritch horror, abruptly cutting off mid sentence, presumably stupefied as she came to grips with the dimension crossing magnitude of her folly.

♫“Ohhh I get high with a little help from my friends..”♫
Not all of the cultist bodies match the armored mage's blood type. The tentacles remove themselves from the incompatible donors with a pop before quickly plunging into the next mostly dead body.

Over Nins shoulder a boy’s head tumbles from his shoulders splattering on the floor as an enraged tentacle flicks deftly out and decapitates him. Even as the head falls a robed man appears behind his headless form and begins chanting.

♫”Ohhh Im gonna try with a little help from my frieeeeends.”♫
Rivulets of blood begin running up the tentacles becoming an intense crimson as Nins forces the red cells to oversaturate with oxygen. The corpse begin to deflate and dedicate as the fat stores are drained, the fat in processed into an easily processed glucose and mixed with the outgoing torrent of blood. A small stream of blood redirected into the sack of coffee and then back out again, carrying the most organic latte ever “brewed”.

Cthulhu lets off a maelstrom of telekinetic chaos, twisting and tearing everything in its path until it breaks into a flood of gore. As the wave closed the distance towards the awoken the Techmarine teleported past the onslaught and became many ghostly blenders burying deeply into the roiling surface flesh of the elder god.

♫”What do I do, when my love is away.”♫
The pores on the back of the armored mages neck opened wide to accept the crimson torrent and soon several liters of optimized blood flooded into his circulatory system. Blood pressure spike as the amount of blood was doubled before Nins had the mind to dump all seven liters of deoxygenated blood into her patients stomach for reprocessing.

The golden barrier’s held strong against the wave and green purple aura danced across the shield’s. Beyond it the Techmarine sustained a ghostly blur of an onslaught.

♫”How do I feel-”♫
Nins finished her procedure and dumped dopamine and adrenaline into the relative systems in the armored mages body as a parting gift. This should trigger a euphoric feeling with intense focus and motivation.

“There we go, you should feel loads better now!” Nins exclaimed to her surely most grateful patient. She rounded to look at the others as her tentacles slowly lowered her feet back to the floor and withdrew from the nearby corpses. “Who else needs medical attention?!”

Nins uses some dead cultists to replace all the oxygen and glucose depleted blood in Naqash body with over oxygenated blood filled to the brim with glucose adrenaline and caffeine. A slight brain chemistry tweak to prevent the shakes too. End result is Naqash should feel full of energy and ready to run a marathon or three while being amazingly alert. As a side effect all the excess blood is pumped into Naqash’s stomach to be disposed of, could result in vomiting.

All while singing along to the beatles hit, With a little help from my friends.

Cthulhu felt the sting of Celebrimbor and the Techmarine . .. the attack proves surprisingly well aimed and begins to damage Cthulhu's mortal form. As the assault grows the psychic intensity of the demi god grows stronger, yet still not strong enough to end the lives of more mortal targets. More tentacles coalesce, seemingly out of nothingness and lash out at any of the protagonists in their way, with strong suction and force, intent on cutting, crushing or penetrating through any body. Meanwhile, The binding force on Cthulhu, cast by Jacob's spell grows stronger, and Cthulhu's body grows more mortal. The assault from the protagonists grow as well, actually putting on quite a light show against the Great Old One, amusing him. "You may prove to be more than mere bugs after all."

The crackling energy pulse washes over Strange's shields like an ocean wave - forceful enough to push it around, but not enough to tear someone apart on its own. The cultists on the ground demonstrate what might have happened without the shields: they're lifted into the air, twisted and stretched into unrecognizable monstrosities, and dropped on the ground in a sickly green pyre. Slowly but surely, Cthulhu's form continues to swell as the bodies and souls of the cultists are burned away.

Just as Nin's healing transfusion completes, the elder god's own transdimensional tentacles spring up from beneath the lifeless bags of blood and jealously pry them away from her grip. Should curiosity lead her to examine another dead cultist, the readings are all impossibly hacked to read, 'NOT YOURS.'

Should it lead her to try inspecting the physiology of the elder god himself or his portal-tentacle-extensions, her mind becomes overwhelmed by a mass of incomprehensible information in more dimensions than the human mind is equipped to handle. A biological nightmare steeped in mental fog and static. It darkens her vision and drowns out all sound, real and imagined. Should she open her mouth to speak, it won't come out right. Should the memories of her souls try to advise her, they won't be heard.

This is, more or less, what Elena is already experiencing. Thankfully for both of them, Jacob's spell is thus far keeping the monster's influence from doing anything more offensive, like forcing them to fight on his behalf or simply absorbing their souls wholesale.

The hulking green beast rears up and backhands the skeleton-ghost that's curtailing its growth, then takes to the air as it prepares its next psychic attack. Cthulhu's some 15 feet tall now.

For her part, Elena squints up at the monster and hears something coming from beyond her mental static. She mouths something that's hard to hear over Tech Marine's shrieking warrior and crackling blaster, but Nin does hear an echo through the eldritch channel they now share.

Stunned she drops what remains of the corpse and turns her stare of increasing disbelief upon the now aloft elder god.

Panacea: No! don't do it! PLEASE NO!
Freddy: Oh YES we gotta see what's inside him.
Slender: looms approvingly

Nins mouth tightens to a line as she turns her conditional invisibility upon the eldritch horrors of the room. "Hey...wait...no-" Before I can actually protest, one of my 'comrades' is forcefully healing me with their powers. The feeling is deeply unpleasant, to say the least. On the plus side, the 'healing' process itself worked, and I felt full of energy and ready to get back into the fight. On the downside, my soul-companions informed me my stomach was now filled with excess blood and nausea was likely. That didn't sound so good. Which is why I was glad when they also said they had a plan.

"You want me to what?!" "The idea behind it is sound and the process should be well within our combined powers." "I'm terrified when the two of you agree on something, you know what?" "I hate to say it, kid, but they do have a point and besides, you don't use your powers you never get used to them, right?" "Even so..."
Well if Danny agrees with them...

My energy high from the 'healing' is further increased as I dip into the Chi powers of the Iron Fist. I become aware of practically every aspect of my body, inside and out, as a deep sense of calm descends upon me from the inner application of the Iron Fist's powers. Carefully, I use my sorcerous powers to scoop up the excess blood in my stomach and link the substance to a small teleportation 'gate', about the size of a firefighter's hose, in front of me. Then I essentially pump out the blood and eject it forcefully towards Cthulhu while infusing the rapidly ejecting blood with Sith lightning and sorcery. Not the most powerful attack I'm capable of, but it allows me to bypass nausea while still hopefully doing a bit of damage...

Alex's wand slashes wildly, issuing forth streaks of purple flame to assault the eldritch monstrosity - to no apparent effect. He grimaces uncomfortably at the sight of the cultists' bodies twisting and warping in the wake of the being's attack. "They were yours, trusted you, followed you...and you killed them, used them for your own power..." he mutters angrily. He pulls the hood of his invisibility cloak over his head, vanishing from sight. Suddenly, from several locations in rapid succession, red, green, and blue blasts of energy fly through the air from all around, as if the Elder God was surrounded by lesser mages. KARMIC RETRIBUTION," a deep voice intones from above. Alex materializes there, an icy blue energy held between his hands. ""You need to chill out~" he says cheekily, before blasting Cthulhu with a wide beam of absolute zero.

Karmic Retribution is where some attacks will do a sort-of "bleed" or "poison" damage directly tied to the deaths/murders the target is responsible for. It's the mechanical tie-in for "you feel your sins crawling on your back". For a more visual representation, imagine the attacks growing stronger due to the spirits of those defeated egging on your defeat, their anger clawing at you in time with the SOUL attack (kinda like this bloody pic (https://orig00.deviantart.net/010c/f/2015/307/3/6/you_feel_your_sins_crawling____by_flargahblargh-d9fgmld.png)).

There's no question that Cthulhu has a lot to answer for. By all rights, an elder god's actions should transcend mortal concepts of good and evil, hope and regret, love and LOVE, but an unintended side-effect of ghost-Jacob's magic is starting to change that. The reapers' judgement slows the tentacled being like a weight as its bloated, already torn flesh starts succumbing to frostbite.

Of course, making a judgement involves some attempt at insight into Cthulhu's character, which is a dangerous thing to fathom. Their soul isn't quite human, or animal, or monster, or even the transcendent psychic analogue of a proper elder god, but some warped combination unique to this crossroads in history.

For Alex, the room dims and all sound fades into vague mumbling as their mind's eye is forced open.

A black sky. A floating castle, dumping sand into a desert through a hole in its Eastern wall. Hourglasses rise up in a tornado of sand and shatter against the gate, allowing their contents to blow inside as the shattered shell falls back to the earth below.

Shards of glass, buried in the sand, shivering in anticipation. The wind picks up, lifting them from the ground and assembling them into intricate snowflake patterns.

Naqash leaps up and spikes the barely-aloft monster with their dark blood attack. At this stage, the hail of lasers from above and below are only things keeping Cthulhu from freezing into a cartoonish block of ice as he plummets to the floor. When his shivering form hits the ground, a wave of complex hostility previously unknown in the universe explodes outward and fills the temple. It's invisible, but easily sensed in the mind's eye as it washes over the group.

Shields, spirits, Gaster Blasters and other summoned entities fade in the Hate Wave's wake. No physical or magical damage is dealt; the constructs just seem to give up. They ragequit.

Alex's cloak and wand don't seem affected, though, and nor do any of Techie's gizmos. So, that's nice.

Meanwhile, the burning bodies littering the room have their own response to the wave. They rise up and shamble forward as their flesh turns inside-out, melting the minions together as they bloom into new shoggoths. A pile of them rise up in a wave of glowing red flesh to protect their master from incoming fire.

https://image.ibb.co/iXqAuc/Mine.gif

With madness in her eyes and crackling clouds of shadow surrounding her body, Elena finally gets her turn to act. She ducks and weaves through the twitching horde of meat, leaps at the shivering hulk that is Cthulhu and clings to his back, mouthing her line over and over.

"my wings. mine. give them back."

In the monster's weakened state, detaching his tattered wings is a comparatively easy task. Elena drops back to the ground and stumbles back as her prizes melt into her swirling maroon aura.

Cthulhu is once again earthbound, but more protected by his hate and his minions than ever before. Anyone else on the ground now surrounded by souped-up shoggoths. All of the party's shields and other summoned magical constructs have been mysteriously suppressed.

The castle shudders in the air as its bricks fall to earth. Abstract glass sculptures feverishly scoop up sand from the ground to carry it back up and replenish the castle's stores, but they can't quite keep up.

A ghost of a mirror, standing beside you.

IT IS ALMOST OVER.

The Elder God and the mortals arrayed against him seemed to be in a stand off, neither side making the first move. For all the power either side could bring to the table, neither was willing to act hastily. With their magical shields stripped, the would-be Godslayers were vulnerable and exposed for the moment. Yet for all his conceit and inhumane intellect, the Elder God didn't act either. These mortals had shown themselves to be powerful, far more than any other of their kind. Indeed, almost as if they weren't like others of their kind. But that was an idle curiosity for later.

As the seconds ticked by, the stand off couldn't last. Someone was going to do something. Deciding to seize the initiative, the Elder God struck in all his misbegotten glory...or appeared to. Even as the mortals facing him moved to defend themselves or brace for an incoming attack, it was a feint. One they had fallen for hook, line and sinker. It was never them that was the target. No.

The target had always been Nins. The Elder God had observed her healing of the Black-clad Sorcerer and had felt her vain attempt at understanding his very being. Foolish. The God struck at the stunned Nins and sent her bodily rocketing away and smashing into a wall.

The monster, still blinded by indignant rage, focuses fire on one mortal, briefly clearing the mental fog for everyone else.

The mortal - though that descriptor is already a bit of a stretch - is blown back by the blast of physical hate, knocking down a line of zombies like bowling pins on her flight to the edge of the temple. It's a long flight. It's a big temple.

The void in the fog takes the glow out of the zombies' eyes, and the meat monsters melt halfway back into puddles. Seizing the opportunity, Lydia and Captain Steel carve a path to the monster posthaste. Tech-marine shoots up the shoggoth canopy, leaving Naquash to dive-bomb from above. Eager to finish whatever it was she started, Elena jumps in and joins the ghostly spellcaster in vacuuming up the god's essence as the fighters smash the monster apart.

In Alex's mind's eye, the castle empties and drops from the sky.

Cthulhu is slain.

...

Nins hits the edge of the temple.

The impact is once again hard enough to crackle the glassy dome. As she falls to the ground, the cracks travel up from the point of impact, retracing the damage from before and spreading further to cover the whole ceiling. With a series of deafening *CRACKS*, water begins pouring into the temple from all angles. Somewhere between Jacob's first death and Cthulhu's last, whatever forces were preventing it from collapsing are fading in a hurry.

Elena converts the last of the monster's twitching corpse into smoke and sucks it into bead-sized portal in her hand. "Okay, we did it! Time to go!"

With a snap of her fingers, the portal through which we entered re-opens, albeit with a maroon aura rather than the green one our patron originally imbued it with. It's only big enough to accept one person at a time, but our escape should still be an easy one. Except for Nins, since she's all the way over there now... Hmm...

For an Elder God, that was surprisingly easy. I'm beginning to think outside forces were at play or that was just a particularly jumped up servant. Either way, the big guy is down and so will we if the we don't move. As we all rush to make our way to Elena's portal, I stop mid-step. We're missing one.

The 'medic' that healed me! They took a big hit from 'Cthulhu' and were sent flying. As far as I saw, they didn't have any shield - magic or tech - on and their attire wasn't exactly enchanted material either. I spot their wounded body in the distance. Dammit!...is what I would say and do anyway. Thankfully, magic can be a great equalizer at times. With a wordless command, I draw on Dr. Fate's powers, which are fast becoming my favorite of my three, and make a quick portal to cross the distance practically instantaneously.

The medic is alive, but hurt. Potentially badly. With no other choice, I channel Hord's mastery of Sith sorcery to give them a powerful jolt of Dark Side healing. Its not a complete heal by any means and predictably, like all things involving the dark side, it'll hurt. But at the bare minimum it should keep them going until I or someone else can give them the full treatment - once we're back home! I grab her and do another tele-jump to the Portal, making my way through with just moments to spare...

The End of Time
At an abandoned intersection, two members of the Timeless Isle's support staff are having a chat.

"...and then Tuxedo Man just closed the portal behind him and vanished."

"Wow. So how many were there?"

"I counted seven, but from what I hear there are already a dozen or so around."

"So... he sent them out with just half of the party? I didn't think we were that pressed for time..."

"I don't think it matters, right? I mean, usually a whole universe can-"

*ding*

**PHWABOOOOSH!**

With only a split second of warning, our heroes are blasted out of a portal in the section of the intersection, riding a geyser of saltwater backed by the pressure of Earth's deepest oceans. Most of the group lands down the street. Naqash and Nins are next, barely holding their breath. Elena is ejected last as the portal closes immediately behind her. She lands on her feet, but stumbles and ends up flopping on the ground anyway to catch her breath.

The spectators stare agape at the heroes, soaking wet and smelling of what they assume to be fish guts.

"Well that was smashing!" Nins voice rings out cheerfully from her limb body. "Are anyone else's bones essentially liquid?" A tentacle sprouts from her back and pulls her head up by her hair so she can see around. "Thanks for the ride tall dark and handsome, sorry for being such a burden. Just prop me up against that wall over there." The tentacle jerks her head over in the direction of a nearby wall. "Oh yea! Did anyone get a sample of elder god calamari? Somthing wicked going on there."

"No, I think I got all of it," Elena says as she pastes her soaked hair against her scalp. "Eugh... I think I can feel it wriggling."

As Nins and Alex get to their feet, they realize that the voices they heard while in contact with the elder gods' consciousness seems to be sticking around as much as any of their other souls, gradually revealing any helpful moves they have to offer. Were they supposed to be there all along?

The other heroes experience a similar phenomenon as they come to their senses. These extra souls come with disturbing memories of being held in a monster's cold, crushing stomach, trapped and helpless. Understanding these shell-shocked souls well enough to make them useful may take a little more coaxing.

Meanwhile, the staffers are still watching. "Oh man! You did it already??" "Hang on, we'll get you some towels..."

A man with a wispy mustache pulls a walkie-talkie out of his heavy-looking cargo pants. *blip* "Uptown to base camp! The heroes are back. Can we get a van over here and bring 'em to laundry?" *blip*

While he's doing that, a short girl in a barista's apron helps bring any stragglers to their feet. "Come on, let's get you inside where it's warmer! I have the coffee shop here back up and running. What do you all like?"

Nope! It is. I guess it's a pretty common name.

Huh... I feel like I should remember...

Well, I don't think we'll be meeting her face-to-face, really. You can't be in two places at once, you know!

I don't... were those two sentences related? I don't think it made as much sense as you thought.

Thinking is hard. Elena looks at her leg. Her skirt is still kind of melted to the burn. Eww.

"I need to um. Go change." She looks up at a window above the coffee shop. "I'll be right back."

She briefly considers several magical ways of getting back to her room. They're all stupid. She just heads through the door and takes the stairs.

There's enough seating for all of our heroes to take a break. The coffee girl asks a lot of probing coffee-related questions, but they apparently work, because she manages to come up with the perfect beverage for all present. Up to and including shots of whiskey. You guess the End of Time doesn't have any issues with liquor licensing.

"So, what's it like?!" she asks as she cleans out one of the dispensers behind the counter. "Having the wisdom of a hundred ancient heroes all at once... it sounds so overwhelming! But, does it give you that clarity of purpose like everyone says?"

Just then, a flash of light washes over the room through the windows, accompanied by a volcanic-sounding rumble.

"Ahh!" the barista braces herself against the counter, and sighs in relief when the fireworks are over. "Uuu... I guess the boss is back. I never get used to that..."

The familiar suit-wearing figure appears at the intersection and casually walks toward the shop. There's just a little time to talk before he comes in to dump another mission on you.

The outburst from the small girl in the yellow dress fills the bar with noise and then like a tidal wave sucks it all back out, leaving a tense silence as the bar staff await the inevitable onslaught.

C'baoth stands perfectly still, the rounded spectacles shine with the glare of an unseen sun masking his eyes.

Dear child.

the elderly man begins with a smile that fails to extend to his voice.

You stand in a reality marble of my own creation. It exists beyond the end of time itself. The boundaries of this microcosm of serenity are continuously assaulted by the agents of chaos and stand as the last bastion against entropy itself.

He gestures into the sky and the celing of the bar receds to show the timely bloom of an angry borealis across the blue sky. Point made he looks back down at the party and the celing reaserts itself.

Here my actions are unrestricted and thus the enemy hides its action in the past, where the flowing timestream restricts me to acting in subtle ways. Placing individuals with momentum at the right spots so their actions may ripple through time like a grand goldruberg machine spanning across the multiverse and reaching a
cresendo here at the end of it all.

Individuals like yourself. Small enough to be invisable, for now, to the great enemy that we face. I appologise for sounding so harsh in my stament of this simple truth. The old cthuli you defeated before was not prince of maddness himself, but I needed you to take the encounter seriously. Or more precisely the souls from which
you each derive your powers, some are known to showboat horribly if they think the task to be trifling.

As for WHO we fight, it calls itself The Supreme Darkness. The omniversal source of all evil, as subjective as that may be.

I belive that answers all your loud questions miss Nins. Are there any other questions among your peers before I take my leave of you all to meet with the doctors? If not I suggest you take some time to develop your tools and implements. Of course for those that make do without, you are more than welcome to attend the meet. As long as you remain quiet.

"Wait a minute. You can get rid of 'all evil' just as much as you can get rid of 'all good', which is to say you can't. I dread the answer, but this isn't some kind of cosmic balance type problem, is it? Where one side has a bit too much influence and needs some cleaning up? Because if the end-goal here is to get rid of all evil in the multiverse...you're pretty much asking us to do the flat out impossible."

I decided not to comment on the head-honcho lying to us about who we were up against in that temple. It was a suspiciously easy fight and everyone must have figured it out already. More to the point, they did have a point that some souls refused to go all out unless facing 'worthy' foes.

There is an abstract balance of sorts between good and evil within the multiverse itself. The multiverse mostly maintains this balance itself, as a living organism might regulate the bacterium of its gut. However outside influences can throw this "balance" into disarray. The Supreme Evil, as it likes to me called is one such outside influence. Acting as a virus to corrupt the multiverse. When it succeeds entire universes can fall to its influence, becoming hellscapes of suffering and pain.

What we do is thwart those plans and search untiringly for a way to destroy The Supreme Evil. Which is where you, the returned, come in. As you currently are you couldn't hope to face The Supreme Evil directly but perhaps one day, with the right combination of souls, one of you may serve as a final solution to the problem. In the meantime you act as the slow knife, small and slow enough to act freely within the multiverse, yet sharp enough to be effective against the enemy.

Many of my fellow fighters had decided not to continue and our 'boss' had generously allowed them to go back to their lives. As it stood, it was just me and Nins left against whatever the hell the universe was going to throw at us.

I give the girl in the yellow dress a tap on the shoulder before bringing up a suggestion, "Hey there...Nins, was it? So it looks like its just going to be the two of us. I figure we might as well make the best use of the time we have and train? I don't know how much combat training your soul-companions gave you, but all three of mine are above-average combatants and two of them specialize in it. You might not be able to replicate the more unique parts of their powers like Chi-control or 'the Force', but I figure I could train you - with their help - to be a good fighter by baseline human standards at least. Apart from that, we could work on getting used to our powers and how to fight as a team rather than individuals. What'd you think? Hopefully the boss-man/thing has a training facility we can use..."

The man known as Charles awoke in his house. . . unknowing of what his brother's fate was. Brothers in the same family, the Thureau family, Jacob and Charles were close since their early adulthood. The man looked thureauly confused, pun intended. For a few moments, he looked outside his windows to see him neighboring Jacob's house, but no one was on the block, save a few stragglers. While the others were in the Danger Room, Charles would exit his house and begin searching this strange world.

In the danger room

The Iron Giant closes the distance between itself and the three heros quickly. It lunges at the end of its sprint bringing its arms down hard smashing on the rocks where Nins had been standing only a moment before. Shards of stone explode from the impact pepering Elena and Naquesh to each side. Its head spins to lock onto Elenas lightsaper and sweeps its huge arms towards her.

Behind the Giant Nins reapears a dozen tentacles topped in razor gloves raise from her back.

On the streets of home base. - C'baoth

A man dressed in an immaculate white suite apears before Charles in a flash of white light.

Charles Thureau, brother of Jacob Thureau. I regret to inform you that your brother died fighting in the eternal war against the great enemy. You have been awoken to take his place and rain vengence upon his foes. I imagine you will need time to process his passing. I will wait with you and answer any questions you have when you are ready.

The man in white stands quietly watching Charles, fully ready to wait an eternity. For what was time to one such as he.

___________

Thanking all the powers that be for teleportation, I 'shift' out of the way of the Giant's blow and the resulting 'shrapnel'. I fire off a few bolts of magic and curse as they harmlessly dissipate upon touching the robot's hull. "Right, Right. No magic. No energy. What do I have?"

"I'd just like to mention that I once punched out a speeding train carrying enough explosives to make Hiroshima look like a sparkler..."

That's it! From the looks of it, direct energy (and magic) attacks on the Giant don't work. But if I enhance myself via such means I'm not attacking with magic, I'm just punching and kicking a lot harder than I would.

Calling upon the Iron Fist's chi mastery, I enhance my body to be able to punch through steel. Focusing on where the length of metal that extends from the 'groin' meets the (right) leg, I propel myself forward and strike that joint with as much strength as I can muster.

Danger room

A new figure suddenly appeared in the danger room. A young man of a muscular athletic build with a shaved head hovering just above and behind the charging iron giant.
He showed no interest in the mechanical monstrosity as it showed none to him.
With arms crossed in front of his wide bare chest he stared down intently at the three combatants below. A green judgemental eye for each one, following their movements, reactions, actions and inactions with a cold belittling intensity.

His face sullen with disappointment and disproval as some magic energy attacks dissipated into nothingness against the giants iron skin. But when the chi empowers Naqash's body it causes the mysterious stranger to take interest and switch his focus of his central eye to her.

What was she hoping to do by pin pricking the giant?
With a faint hint of a smile he decides to make things more interesting.
Spreading his fingers wide he places both hands beside his face. In a loud authoritative booming voice he boldly declares his action.

"SOLAR FLARE!"

A powerfully bright blinding light emanates from the stranger in a fierce flash capturing anyone who was looking up at the giant. (But not the giant) A light so bright and burning that it temporarily blinds, stuns and disorientates its victims. Exploding from within that light, hidden amongst its brilliance, three Ki energy blasts hurtle towards the combatants.

"Gah!" Elena flinches and shields her eyes from the floating god's flare, half a second too late. "Hey! Watch it! You could have blinded us!"

She squints through a white haze at the mysterious stranger, clearly looking a little to his left rather than directly at him.

He DID blind us!

Crap, can Naqash do this alone? We can't dodge-

Shh. Close your eyes. Just proceed as you'd already planned.

Naqash's punch is enough to stagger the machine's balance for a moment. Trusting the professional cheddar knight, Elena closes her eyes and dashes between the giant's twitching legs to get behind it. There are no magic words or somatic components, but any trained observer would know a haste effect when they see it.

The machine hesitates for a second as the light and energy from the Solar Flare wash over it, then swings a giant, open hand at the new target's last known position.

I can feel it... the robot's blinded too, isn't it?

Well, at least until it resets its sensory processor. Plus it's still a simulation, so it depends how faithful it is with bias glitches.

You really know about this stuff?

It's not that surprising, is it? Elena works in IT. Droid maintenance just the Academy's version of that.

With closed eyes, Elena leaps onto the machine's back and plunges her lightsaber between its shoulders. Slowly but surely, she should be able to carve an opening.

At least we can still FLY, right? In case he decides to swat us like a mosquito?

Haha! Yes, I think that's legal.

C'baoth pulls a slender white wood from thin air, with a flourish he places it to his temple and draws out a thin whisp of smoke.

Here, he offers the whisp to Charles Your brothers memories of the last day. Should explain the situation perfectly, and provide you closure.

In the danger room. Iron Giant
The Giant spins down onto one knee, reeling from the force of Naqash's blow. The joint at its hip grinds and sparks as it moves, obviously buckled.

A loud bellow erupts as a searing pain erupts on its back. It flails its arms in a pitiful attempt to dislodge the assailant. Unable to reach, it changes tactics. With a mighty kick it jumps high, rockets ignite in its feet to boost it higher before cutting out, letting it fall to the hard unyeilding rock, back first.

In the danger room. Nins
Nins vision turns white as the new comer blinds them all.
A single thought arises from the slenderman - "Victims"

Still blind, Nins becomes astutely aware of her assailents' possitions, Iron Giant and newcomer alike. The small pale girl teleports up to the newcomer, yellow dress fluttering in the breeze. A dozen razor tipped tentacles shoot out to bind him before she can fall.

In the danger room observatory. Tevin
Tevin crouches next to a hatch, upgrading the solid holo emitors of his beautiful danger room. He watches some fools flail at an Iron Giant, then at each other.

For completely unexplained reasons, the newest member of our team decides on some blue-on-blue. Thankfully its only a blinding maneuver and not a damaging one. Cursing yet AGAIN, but this time for different reasons, I activate Force Sight and strain my other senses to their limits as well. Good thing for BS martial arts powers being an actual thing. I've never complaining about fighting games ever again.

The Iron Giant takes off and comes back down with immense force and speed. Thinking for a second, I combine sorcerous telekinesis with it's force powered counterpart to try and arrange some sort of crude spike out of the debris in our surroundings. Hopefully at the speed that thing is falling, it causes some damage or at least creates a crack in the armor.

Tevin looks up from work briefly as a bright flashing light glares across the screen. "Someone must have played with the settings. I'm sure the giant robot scenario isn't meant to include extras. **** I hope I didn't do that...

(Rex) Just ask the interface

(Tevin) right... right... forgot about that for a second

Tevin reaches out a hand and activates his nanobots to communicate with the machine searching for any errors in the system. Passing over coding and backed up data. Error reports over the last few months and is concerned when finds nothing. Even more concerned when he learns the extra person isn't even an existing scenario. A frown passes over his face.

Tevin adjusts his goggles and stretches out a little. guess I should find out what's going on.

He looks over at his half finished repairs and frowns again then heads on his way to find where C'baoth had got to. Maybe he can clear up this mess.

where was C'baoth last time I saw him? Was it this way?

Well it was good to see that no ones actions were impeded by the visual sensory deprivation. He was sure the light caught them yet they hardly slowed their pace at all.
Their efforts were split and each worked to their own strengths. Perhaps, just maybe they were not as hopeless as he had first thought. There might be a chance for them after all.

-----

A teleporter suddenly appeared in the air before him. A sly grin crept across his face, taunting and teasing her as they exchanged glances and shared a brief moment.
He was slightly disheartened to see someone replicate his skill but he balanced out his disappointment by releasing some anger upon her.

The dangerous tentacles swiped cleanly through him like he wasn't even there, like he was some sort of illusionary figure. As the tentacles swiped effortlessly through the ghostly figure of the mysterious three eyed stranger he took a deep breath. The second her attack no longer reached him he expelled the air from his lungs in the form of a giant bellowing flame.
It was deffinatly very real.

It was instantly followed by a fierce barrage of small energy blasts that followed her down. While many might strike the falling girl in the yellow dress, the true target of this energy barrage was the spike created by Naquash.
His attack should easily level any ground she had altered.

Lastly he turned his attention to the one with a with the dangerously powerful energy sword. He had to remove that weapon from them. He began flying to a position to attack her.

Defend- Phased out.
Distract- Flame thrower
Attack- Ki volley barrage
Tactic- Hit Nins, destroy the ground spike.
Movement- tactical position to attack Elena.

http://dragonball.wikia.com/wiki/Continuous_Energy_Bullet?file=Vegeta-ContinuousEnergyBullets.png

Following the big crash of the giant, the man quickly descended to the floor with great pace. With a soft graceful landing he found himself a mere 30ft infront of Elena. Kicking his left foot out forward he sunk into his hips and lowered his stance as he raised his arms and half curled his fingers taking up a martial arts stance. With a grin and a nod he beckoned for her to attack him.
His third eye always trying to keep watch of the others.

You don't need to have your eyes open to notice when your big robot mount capsizes.

...was it feeling pain just there?

It's still a hologram. Worst case, the AI is just a good actor.

Elena kicks off and swiftly glides to safety, scraping the ground as she guesses how far she needs to go to consider this a safe distance. As she slides to a halt, a cloud of dust and shrapnel from the crashing robot swiftly follows and envelops her. Her eyes are already closed, but she reflexively shields them anyway.

"Nnh! Foof. Did we..."

...she'll have to wait and react to what happens next, depending on what the Solar Flare user does.

She retracts her sword and puts it away, seemingly oblivious to the man's challenge. "Well, it looks like your plan worked after all! I... don't think we've met before?"

That's actually very strange. We should have at least seen his name somewhere...

I don't think he's an enemy, but I've been wrong before.

Oh, come on! He's CLEARLY trying to fight us! I say we do it!

What good would that do? We'd just be giving him what he wants, then!

"Not a glitch?" it would be easy to mistake his words as directed at someone but these ones in particular like words from earlier were in fact thoughts out loud. Things so busy in his head Tevin often thinks out loud.

The young man does a 180 and walks back into the observatory. "Sorry... did you say not a glitch?" Tevin stands next to Elena in front of the monitor and points at the extra person who had been assaulting the rest of the team. "I have seen this scenario run a thousand times... giant robot never includes bald monk guy." an idle mind leads Tevin to take out a handful of the popcorn and start chewing. "Nope! Bald monk guy is one of us. He's got the right idea, too." She reaches over and grabs a handful of popcorn before grabbing a chair and kicking her feet up on some old computer equipment. "See, for people like us, there's nothing you can simulate - nothing that exists, really - that any one of us couldn't handle alone. So, really, fighting in a group like this, we'd all just get in each others' way, right?"

She flicks a piece of popcorn in her mouth as the monk stares down one of the other awakened party members. Tevin might notice that the Elena on the screen looks almost identical to the one in the room with him, if you just change her clothes and hair. Elena R's is curled to look a little like ram's horns.

May I Elena? he asks, taking a handful of popcorn and chewing on it. I do hope they can hurt him at least a little, hes insufferable when they don't. not for a single beat does his voice waver from a bored deadpan tone.

Danger Room, Iron Giant
The spike of rock explodes from the newcomers energy blasts a second before the Iron Giant smashes into the ground. A shockwave rippling out as a visable wave of rock. It rolls over onto its knees and slowly gets to its feet. A single rivlet of molten metal splatters on the ground, running from the long gash on its back.

It locks its eyes on the nearest target, Naqash, and lunges forward attempting to stomp on him.

The attack is highly telegraphed you have plenty of time to react.

Danger Room, Nins
Nins boneless form plumets to the ground as she catches fire.

Freddy: STOP DROP AND ROLL! STOP DROP AND ROLL!
STOP DROP AND ROLL! STOP DROP AND ROLL!
She screams as she slams into the snow covered rock and starts rolling to put the fire out.

As she comes to a stop panting and slightly steaming she turns to stare at the strange face off between the newcomer and Elena.

"Of course I do! This is was suppose to be a trial to see how well Nins, Elena and I work as a team. The entire exercise has been wasted now."

"Is that anger I hear in yo-" "Do not listen to the d-" "Oh will the two of you shut up!"

....

"Kid. No need to get heated up over such a small thing. End it."

The Iron Fist is right. I'm getting annoyed over nothing. As I calm myself down, time seems to come to a stop. No. Not quite. Just slow enough that it might as well be. I feel the Chi empowering me as each fraction of a second builds. This is nothing like my previous punch. Its so much more.

Daniel Thomas Rand-K'ai. When compared to the likes of Dr. Fate and Tulak Hord, he didn't seem like much. I was glad to be a master of practically all the martial arts, and having my blows be more than a baseline human's was always nice. But the Iron Fist always felt like an after thought against the power of supreme sorcery and the force. I was wrong. Chi can do so much more than just help me hit things hard. It can heal people of diseases, bring the critically injured back to health, sense what mere eyesight can't see, project energy blasts, absorb opposing energy, exorcise demons, deflect bullets and other projectiles. Really, the list goes on. My point being, I greatly underestimated the Iron Fist.

Anyway, yeah. It also does help me hit things hard. Hard enough to destroy a train 'loaded with enough explosives to make Hiroshima look like a sparkler', hard enough to bring the SHIELD Helicarrier crashing to the ground. Where I'm going with this is that this overgrown toy we're facing never really had a chance. Not against us. Especially not against us.

Time resumes its normal course. I speed towards the Iron Giant faster than a bullet, propelled by a combination of all three of my powersets, practically bursting with Chi. I strike it square in the chest.

In the last available seconds the centre eye noticed the trembling of the floor and spotted Nins reaching into the ground. No sooner had his foot left the ground that the claws erupted out threatening to pierce his flesh. Ki and strength threw him into the air but it was not enough to propel him away fast enough. As he tuck into a backflip one claw managed to, if only just barely, touch his back. A fine red line appeared across his skin but as he opened up from his spin he parried away the remainder of the attack with a large magic solid steel sword.

As he came to land on the ground he could only watch as the giant fell. His sword dissipated away as it was no longer needed. It was done.
He simply nodded and relaxed in stance. 'Well done' he thought silently. His congratulatory thoughts did not reflect on his face. His gaze was hard and stern as before.

I turn to look at my team mates, neatly framed by the hole in the Iron Giants chest. "I guess sometimes, all you need to do is punch hard enough."

All my past annoyance fades as the simulation ends and the remains of the Iron Giant dissipates along with the battlefield, leaving us in the sterile default of the Danger Room. You know what? I'm actually feeling good about this multiversal adventure of ours. If just one of us can do this, imagine what our powers combined could achieve. From behind him, Tevin can hear the crash of a collapsing Iron Giant and the cheering laughter of Elena R., followed by a disappointed groan as the real fight wraps up without much payoff.

"Well, I guess our superpowers will just have to languish unchallenged until a real villain comes along~" she sighs with a smile and a shrug of clearly feigned resignation. "It's probably for the best anyway. If we want to hunt down this Mysterious Darkness, we'll have to do some actual work eventually."

Elena does only as much side-stepping as she needs to stay out of the dueling fight scenes. At last, she wipes the last of the fuzzies from her eyes to see Naqash standing triumphantly over the vanishing simulation.

"Something else."
He said flatly, almost in a growl. After that he didn't wait for a reply and carried on his way. He had to be sure to fix her thinking before it became an issue.

His path soon comes to end before Naqash. With a steady movement and grip he reaches for her wrist. Opposed or not he will look to her hand, examining it. (Even if he's not holding it.) Then once done he simply walks away towards the rooms exit.
Standing at the door he bangs heavily on the wall beside him just once, as the boom settles he loudly announces, "Tevin! Next time don't mess with the density..." His voice resonated with an air of confidence, authority and faint undertone of anger. And with that he continues towards the door.

Did Tevin alter the Giants density? Or does this stranger simply refuse to believe that Naqash could defeat it so easily? Is it all some ploy to prevent them from becoming over confident? And just who was he anyway?

On the streets of home base. - C'baoth & Charles Thureau
The white clad entity pauses for a moment, unsure of what to say.
The others are just about to be gathered for a briefing on their next mission. Please come with me.
C'baoth and Charles vanish in a flash of light.

Observation room, half the team and C'baoth.
C'Baoth finishes his popcorn while watching Elena R's sudden outburst, and dusts off his suit.

The meeting of the doctors has brought about some disturbing news. Meet me downstairs with the others for a mission briefing.

C'Baoth disappears in a flash of light reappearing on the monitors watching the danger room floor.

Danger room, The Team, Nins and C'baoth.

Nins remains laying on the chrome floor, bones broken, flesh burnt and, most importantly, favourite dress singed and tattered.
This was my favourite dress, She mutters.HEY YOU THIS WAS MY FA-EEK!

Nins is cut off mid sentence as C'Baoth appears in the Danger Room in a flash of light.

You can give him cancer for his troubles later Nins, but for now I have news of a mission for you all. Ill start once the others arrive.

C'Baoth waits patiently, a few seconds later a second copy of himself arrives in a flash with Charles at his side. The two copies of C'Baoth have a round of rock, paper, scissors to decide who was going to cease to exist. The loser throws up his hands as he explodes.

A few seconds later Tevin arrives.

Good everyone's here. Lets begin.
An agent of the enemy has been wrecking havoc across the multiverse. Hunting down and killing time lords one after the other. Killing them in such a way that they don't regenerate. Now usually the death of a few individuals Isn't of significant importance to the greater war. When a time-lord dies a final death a point of fixed time is created causing all the local hyper-time branches to collapse into one point, all the parallel branches that are impossible simply ending. Usually the time lords die their final deaths in the time war, containing the damage, either through a quirk of fate or through our subtle intervention. Nether the less time lords have been dieing outside of their universe and it has become safe to assume that The Enemy has been orchestrating their deaths to coincide with their own plans.

Some of the plans are big and obvious like ensuring the Spell Plague happens in the Faerun universe, or that Magnus the Red destroys the new web way in the Warhammer universe or that Satan writes the bible in the Mundane Earth universe. Others can be small thing like Hitler getting rejected from art school. The worst are the subtle ones that cause universes to gain access to a cross dimensional engines, allowing them to jump from universe to universe infecting them. Like the Tyranids.

C'Baoth visibly winces at the mention of the Tyranids.

18 universes subsumed before we contained them... Now we've received a distress beacon from the time lord team known as The Saints. With two fixed points on the line we cant afford to not act. So you-

he gestures at the team.

-are being sent in. To find them, figure out The Enemy's plan, thwart it and then extract the time-lords.

The destination universe in question has a pretty strong "Prime Directive" in place and it only seems fair that we extend that courtesy to them. So subtlety is in order, which means-

A wave of his arm conjures a clothing rack filled with uniforms from the Star Trek universe.

Disguises!

Any questions at this point?

How can our team pilot this USS Vladiscu with just ourselves, or do you have a way for us to somehow do it safely? Will we ever be leaving the Station? Like, say to Bajor? Or other areas in the Federation, or will we be returning after we're done on the station?"

"The Federation... is one of your souls from there, Charles? You seem to know a lot about it."

Elena L takes off her hoodie and pulls on one of the red spandex shirts. Elena R doesn't show up, though given what happened to the duplicate C'B perhaps that's understandable.

"I guess we're all going to be crew-members aboard the USS Vladiscu? What class of ship is it and how are we going to deal with the issue of other crew? Namely the members that aren't us? Is it 'our ship' or is this ship merely one from the universe into which we've been inserted as crew? And last, but arguably the most important...what about the Bajoran Wormhole Aliens and Q (and his kind)? Both clearly have immense power, the latter sometimes being described akin to a God or multiversal power."

Tevin looks at the uniforms flicking through clothes on the rack

(Agatha) What do you suppose a prime directive is? Sounds suspiciously like mind control or hivemind behavior.

(rex) nothing we cant handle

Thinking out loud, as he does, Tevin responds to the souls. "Im pretty sure whatever a "Prime Directive" is it's nothing that cant be handled by a full team." Tevin takes a red shirt off the rack "Hey C, you need to get some of your disguises repaired, there is significant damage to this one. Look at this hole in the chest, I can put my hand right through it."

Tevin places the damaged shirt to one side and picks up a blue one. He then touches his hand to it and transmutes the colour to red. He smiles "Thats better, so what exactly are we going to be looking for here?"

Elena blinks and seems confused by Charles' list of Star Trek references.

(E.L.): I mean, I watched the show too, and the Prime Directive reference was apropos for a policy of non-interference, but why would he think...

(Asriel): What? Have you seriously not figured this out yet?

(Lana): Legends and stories are echoes from real times and places. I spent my whole life watching them, until I broke my own prime directive and... fell.

(Asriel): It's literally the entire premise of this world! How do you think we got that laser sword?

(Revan): To be fair, you also used laser swords.

(Asriel): Yes, because they're awesome, but also because YOU popularized them.

"Okay, okay, I get it!" Elena says to no one in particular. "If we're not the only people on the ship, maybe we should go as civilians? Then it won't be as suspicious when we don't know about what's going on."

Danger Room, All active players & C'Baoth
C'Baoth waits patiently with a faint smile while the chatter prompted by the questions dies back down.

All good questions! To start with I want to address the nature of knowledge on other universes. As Mr.Thurea has demonstrated by recognizing, not only which universe, but which period of time in that universe the uniforms come from; The nature of other universe can leak into one another in the form of stories, fables, literature and even television shows.

However you should be forewarned that not everything that leaks between universes is 100% accurate. Some events are exaggerated for dramatic effect. Individuals are deified or vilified more than their true actions deserve. Historical details can be off. Sometimes these details are confused due to the medium of inspiration other times The Supreme Evil purposely manipulates them to seed misinformation. The only reliable information about universes comes from experiencing it directly or from souls you may manifest from that universe.

Everybody following? OK good. Next up the topic of the "Prime Directive" because its important just not in the way that you think.

The Prime Directive is a philosophy that a more advanced civilization shouldn't interfere with a less advanced civilization. To quote:
"No identification of self or mission. No interference with the social development of said planet. No references to space or the fact that there are other worlds or civilizations."
For our purposes we consider any universe unaware of the nature of the multiverse the same way the federation considers non space faring civilizations. So no telling the natives of that universe about who you really are or why youre really there. No telling them about the greater multiverse or hyper-time. No attempting to "advance" their social development by introducing technology, magic or concepts they don't have.

The irony that you are being introduced to this procedure on a mission working with the oh-so-superior people that coined it brings me indecent amounts of joy.

Thats the two big not actually questions questions done. Rapid fire mode.

The distress beacon will be a timelord hypercube that looks like this, (https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/tardis/images/5/52/Corsair_cube_%28TDW%29.jpg/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/350?cb=20170612205012)while the saints, Valentine and Antenor were last seen looking like this and this A hologram of the Hypercube appears above his hand, swiftly acompanied by head shots of two men.

Your tricorders, he indicates the tricorders on the rack, you see phasers there too. Have had the ability to track the direction to the cube added to them.

On Q and the Bajorans, you're big fish, but you're not always going to be the biggest fish in the ponds we throw you in. Fortunately the presence of the time-lords is confusing the Bajorans too much for them to interfere, Q.... Keep your heads down.

Civilians or not is up to you. I do recommend using the suits and in order to maintain your initial cover. Speaking of which...

Space Hanger 03, All active players, C'Baoth and a clothing rack
C'Baoth, every member of the party and the cloths rack flash with light and are suddenly stood in a large hanger with one massive wall opening into space. In the middle of the hanger floats a bulky and obviously damaged ship. On it hundreds of workers move about welding various panels. Along its side it written in large letters "U.S.S Vladiscu".

C'baoth flourishes an arm at the ship, The U.S.S Vladiscu, an Antares class freighter equipped with a warp 2 capable drive and a few secret turrets of our own. Its due to deliver 12 million tonnes of Deuridium to the titular station. Once there it will take 5 days to be unloaded and reloaded with its next cargo. I assume you can prolong that discretely if you need to. Of important note is that it also has a multiverse jump drive installed in order for you to make the jump to the target universe. Its incredibly important that it not fall into the wrong hands and is thus equipped with a self destruct mechanism.

It requires a crew of 12 which will compromise of yourselves and a hand full of workers from home base who will take care of the loading and unloading process. As for piloting. C'Baoth gestures to Tevin. I'm sure 3 days is long enough the technopath to learn how it flys?

Dr.Gunsforhands
2018-04-21, 12:56 PM
Elena hides behind the rack as she dons the rest of her ensign's uniform. Rank is probably pretty arbitrary for our purposes.

"Alright, so we dock, track down the beacon while the deuterium is being unloaded, hopefully speak with our Lords of Time and figure it out from there, all while dodging a stern conversation with Colm Meaney about why our totally legitimate ship is covered in secret turrets."

(Revan): Duridium.
(E.L.): What?
(Revan): We're delivering duridium. Deuterium is just fancy hydrogen.
(E.L.): What's deuridium, then?
(Revan): It's a heavy metal that absorbs blaster fire.
(Asriel): Wait, didn't he spell it with an E?
(Lana): He did! I think this might be different.

Elena shakes her head and tries to focus before she ends up playing Who's On First with the periodic table.

"Alright! Everyone get ready and we'll meet on the bridge. I doubt we'll need three whole days, and I don't think our friends have them to spare."

(Agatha) oh my word is that a deathray?

(rex) I think they C'baoth called it a phaser [/color}

[color=purple] thats just a fancy word for deathray. I want it I NEED IT

Tevin takes one of the phasers off the rack as well mentally giving himself a reminder to look into upgrading it. "Happy?" Tevin then returns his attention to the request made of him to pilot a vessel he didnt have any experience flying space ships yet but he was sure there was some kind of driving knowledge rattling around up there and with nanobots how hard could it be. "Three days sounds far too long I should be able to link up all the systems of the ship through my nanobots and run the ship mentally. Who needs three days?

The three eyed man from earlier was present in the room, if not a little further out then the rest of the group. He walks up to the clothes rack looking far from impressed at the selection. Lifting one away from the array of others he holds it up against his body. His frown says it all as hr looks to C'Baoth, his wide shoulders reaching far past the width of the red fabric.
With a simple look he was asking if the man was serious and equally sharing his displeasure.

Under appreciated epic space ship repair hanger, C'Baoth Nins

C'Baoth raises an eyebrow at the three eyed man, We have ones fitted for Klingon's. They might be a bit tight on you but... C'Baoth just shrugs.

Im glad you can speed up the repair times Tevin. I expect nothing less from a veteran techno path. Off you go then. He gestures up to the **** and a ramp extends down to the party from a freshly opened door.

Oh and Nins can you repair your bones. Jelly girl, while amusing, will attract to much attention.

Nins pauses with a tentacle holding up a red uniform, Actually no... Cant do myself... Can any one else help me out?

The bridge
Should the party make their way to the bridge they'll find it basically complete. Most interior sections of the ship are too, with only the massive cargo bay lacking its full complement of walls.

Should Tevin extend his technopathy to the ship hell find critical systems are all working. A set of turrets that can retract seamlessly have been installed. The warp drive is powered by an antimatter reactor, along side it is wired in a strange machine that upon further inspection reveals itself to be the multiverse jump drive. Strangely the MJD has been wired up with a self destruct mechanism that should obliterate it and anything within 3 meters at the sub atomic level.

Tevin - Running repairs.

Tevin headed onboard the ship part of him itched to tinker with the phaser make it more powerful but he had a task to complete first. He cracks his knuckles made his way to somewhere he could interface with the ship. Finding one of the computer panels he places his hands on it and activates his nanobots sending them into the systems. Most of the repairs left to make are minor and can be done without actually moving from this spot. Tevin fixes the pathways in the circuitry then heads out to make the repairs he needs to make by hand. It only takes him hour till he is finally done.

He then makes his way to the weaponry holds and gets to work on making some upgrades. After communicating with the ship Tevin was able to see how to route some of the power from the Multidimensional jump drive into the weaponry. it would disable the ability to jump for a short time but it would definately provide more oomf to the firing of the main cannon. "Let's see if I take out this cable plug in this one. route it directly to the anti matter reactor. take out this this and this...."

(Agatha) If I am seeing this right you should be able to turn this ships death ray into a super cannon that would wipe out a sizeble clank maybe even a city. but you seem to be missing some parts.

(Doctor Alchemy) Perhaps I can help remember that stone you got when you obtained me? use it to convert the parts build the piece you need. Agatha do you think you could devise some quick prints for the piece.

Tevin takes out the stone and changes the parts and starts working towards the final piece to his antimatter cannon three hours pass by and Tevin is left with a thick cable. He guides it to the Antimatter reactor and then places a sign on it that reads. "In the event of an emergency plug in and fire the cannon" Tevin makes some final adjustments to the antimatter reactor and then dusts off his hands and rests his goggles back on his head.

Tevin returns to the bridge and sits down on a seat somewhere he can reach a panel to communicate with the tech in the ship.

"Geez, I thought you were doing that on purpose this whole time... I can think of some healing magic, but I don't think there was a spell for dissolved bones. Does this ship have a... Hey, 'computer!' Does this ship have a sick bay?"

She's not sure if the real ship will actually work the way it does on the show, but it's worth a try. Between the ship's tutorial functions and C'Baoth's own directions, Nins and Elena soon arrive at the ship's equivalent of a nurse's office. It has a pair of monitors and a series of instruments not quite resembling anything from the show. That's probably for the best; Star Trek's props are almost entirely unlabeled and their intended purposes left vague, which in reality would be a pretty obnoxious way of doing things. Better still, one of the monitors features the welcome addition of a readable prompt! 'Please state the nature of the medical emergency,' it says.

"Okay! Um. Computer, please display recommended treatment for... bone... disappearance? Nins, what happened to you anyway?"

In any case, Nins has proven to be the group's medical wizard, so this sick bay should really be her office.

Nins looks around at the strange gizmos and machines of the med bay. Oh its fine! she says addressing Elenas concern. That cthuli thing threw me at a wall pretty hard and well... she indicates a floppy arm. But its not that bad. I dont feel pain apparently.

The medical console starts listing procedures to repair the bones one by one. Mostly stemcell transfusions and calcium boosters. It indicates for the patient to be placed into a horizontal cylinder made from clear perspex and chrome.

Thanks for helping me though Elena. It was getting kinda annoying pupetting myself around.

Nins manuvers herself into the tube and retracts her tentacles flashing Elena a warm smile.

Sedating patient. Intones the capsule, a syringe on an arm injecting somthing into Nins neck.

Wait! No! A breif moment of fear flashes in her eyes before she passes out.

A feminine computerized voice speaks up at the three eyed mans insitance. "The navigation bay is on your right." A console lights up to his right. On the ship, towards the final frontier.
The last members of the party boards the USS Vladiscu. Under Tevins guidance the bulky ship lifts from the floor of the hanger and gently floats out of the hanger under impulse power. It accelerates away from home base, which from a distance seems to be a city built atop an inverted mountain hanging in space. Once at a safe distance the ship accelerates to warp speed before engaging its Multiverse Jump Drive. A large green portal forms in front of the ship and the USS Vladiscu plunges into it.

Heres what I see as your characters roles on the ship. Feel free to speak up if you disagree or dislike me assigning roles this way.

Tevin takes the combined role of engineering and pilot, Nins is the obvious fit for Medical Officer, as previously discovered Charles has the role of head of security , while the three eyed man has takes up the role of navigation, Naqash seems well suited to science officer, leaving the roles of captain and first officer to Elena R and L.

On the ship, in orbit of Deep Space 9. Vi'ral
The effect of the jump ceased as suddenly as they had begun and the ship emerged from its portal at warp speed. A few minutes passed before the ship dropped from warp 2 to sublight speeds and began approach to Deep Space Nine.

The main display at the front of the bridge flicked on, showing a klingon in a grey/black jumpsuit with the rank pips of captain. Welcome to Deep Space Nine, USS Vladiscu. I am Captain Vi'ral. Please procede to docking port 7 for unloading.

Deep Space Nine
The docking procedures go smoothly and one of the "ensigns" from home base begins the unloading procedure. The gangplank leads down to the floor of the new hanger. Below mill a few dozen workers operating lifiting equipment and tools.

At Charles' questioning the insignia on his laple glows and a the voice of the station speaks up. Quark's bar is currently run by Quark. Its up on deck 4. I can guide you there now if you would like.

The badges on the rest of the partys laples glow. We have also set aside accomadations for the crew of the Vladiscu on deck 2. I can direct you there now if you want.

"Huh? Nins!"

...but it's too late; Nins is out like a light. Even with her augmented pain threshold, it seems reckless to try snapping her out of it with magic at this point. L will just have to follow the prompts and figure out the procedure as best she-

*chirp* Eleeeena~ *chirp*

Elena starts and looks around for the source of the eerie voice, only to realize that it's coming from the tricorder at her hip. She takes it out and hesitantly flips it open. She really wasn't looking forward to this conversation.

*chirp* "Yes, hello?"

Ah, you're alive after all! Good, I wouldn't want you to miss your big promotion.

"Excuse me? Me, R, whoever you are... I'm kind of in the middle of something."

Whatever, just get a crewman to do it! We need your butt on the bridge!

"What?"

Must a I spell it out? Elena Lowell, you are hereby requested and required to serve as First Officer of the USS Vladiscu, by unanimous vote of, 'not it,' by all present. I'm sure Nins will be fine, these space-age medical stations practically run themselves.

Elena looks up at the screen prompt. The machine is already administering some kind of generative compound through some painful-looking tubes in Nins' legs. On the screen, a checkmark appears next to that step in the process. It even gives a timer estimating when it will finish the first round of treatment. About 3 hours, it says, at which point it recommends a week of strictly-monitored rest between treatment sessions.

...Nins will probably be able to cheat her way around that last part.

"Alright, I'll be right up," Elena sighs. "Where are you, anyway? I thought we were alternating missions or something."

Oh, did I not mention? I'm the captain-

Vladiscu Bridge, About 15 Minutes Ago

"-Millenia Rodriguez."

Somewhere between her appearance at the training control room and now, Elena R. lost her glasses, her hair turned bright red and her complexion lightened as though she had avoided the sun for months. She was already waiting here in her uniform when Tevin and Something Else arrived to look at their stations. If they would have confused her for L earlier, they certainly wouldn't now.

"Bay 7. Acknowledged. Thank you, captain."

With a nod from Captain Millenia, L taps her station's equivalent of an End Call button. Apparently, in this universe the first officer is also in charge of the communications panel. Go figure.

Dock Seven, 5 Minutes Ago

Millenia meets with whoever the Klingon captain sends our way and makes small talk while the rest of the crew gets started on exploring the station. "How have things been out here? We've been out of the loop ever since we were sent out for the deuridium."

Quark's Bar, Now

Elena L's first action upon boarding is to idly open her tricorder and try to get a fix on the distress signal. As cool as it is to be in another universe, she doesn't seem to have much difficulty staying on task. She wanders the corridors of the promenade, glancing at her readings occasionally to see whether she's getting warmer or colder. Even just a direction would be enough for our purposes.

She just happens to be nearby when Charles starts barking for the local barkeep.

"Ship security?" She looks up from her gadget, not quite able to disguise her confusion. She has no idea what Charles might be on about; this place doesn't look like the studio set she grew up watching, but that alone shouldn't raise any alarm bells. "Care to run any of that by me, Lieutenant? Who is Quark to us?"

Tevin - Making some upgrades.

Tevin found some time to sit down at a bench and work on the stock standard phaser he got. Let the others do investigation and intrigue in the end what they need is some decent weapons. He looked over the weapon carefully discreet modifications wouldnt be too hard. "If only I had access to the parts that built the Multidimensional Jump Drive I could make a mini destruction gun... hmm this has a pretty decent kill setting already, lets see if we can oomf it up."

Boredom

After adjusting the settings of the phaser to go beyond its standard power levels Tevin found himself a ball and bounced it against a wall for awhile. He began to get bored, let out a sigh and went in search of the others stumbling upon a bar and a familiar face though this time in a white dress. Elena still has a bad feeling about her security officer's strategy, but can't offer much alternative to asking around, nor any reason that this wouldn't be as good a starting point as any. "Well, alright. Have at it."

It's roughly at this point that Tevin shows up to check in. "Nothing yet, unfortunately," Elena says. She's still wearing her red Starfleet shirt and staring at her tricorder. She turns to let him see the readings over her shoulder. "I have this set to scan for our beacon, but I've not seen so much as a blip so far. They did say it was already turned on, right?"

"...anyway, Charles went ahead to start asking around in the criminal underworld, and my... sister?... is off chatting up the senior staff. Maybe they'll have a little more luck, but I still want to keep scanning in case it does turn up."

A thought occurs.

Quarks': "Quark" other "Quark's", Elena L, Charles, Tevin
Charle's sudden out burst at the bar snatches the attention of the paterons. A sudden lul in the conversation as they all turn to size up the odd new human that was raving about ship security.

Nervous chatter starts to build as Elena talks to Charles. As an edge of panic starts to creep into the crowds murmuring until one of the wait staff in a fake Quark head shouts up Happy hour in the memory of the great Quark! a cheer goes up from the crowd and the noise of happy chattering resumes.

Crisis averted the barkeep weaves through the crowd to meet with Elena, Charles and Tevin.

With me, NOW! the barkeep hisses at the three leading them to a storage room behind the bar. Taking off the fake Quark head reveals a male of Ferengi/Bajoran descent. What's this about illegal activity and ship security that your panicking my patrons with? And more importantly how are we going to profit from it? The bar keeps anger quickly giving way to excited glee.
