Below os only for those who have played before.

It shows I'm getting ready to DM this, tha ks for your patience with my questions.

In Area 56 the book says, "Sir Bradford uses Shatterspike (his magic sword) to destroy his foe's weapons if possible."

In Shatterspike's description it says basically:
You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls. If it hits an object the hit is automatically a critical hit.

So how have you all handled this object? Can players pretty much attack wespons instead of enemies? What do weapons have for A/C and HP?

It varies based on the item attacked. It is in the DMs Guide page 246-247.

If you google this you'll see some other proposed rulings, such as, if you use it to disarm, that hits a weapon, if your foe parries and blocks your attack, you hit their weapon. They make sense; they might make the item more powerful than intended, but I think it's flavorful.

I'm not aware of an official ruling on it, but someone else here is very likely more informed than I am.
