What are all of the different ways to obtain a familiar or animal companion?

The obvious one is be a sorc/wiz or a dru/rng, but what about ACFs and such?

This is for a low level build, so including PrC's that can do so isn't needed.

The List of Stuff (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?454553) has this covered pretty well.

I'll add the Wild Cohort feat, Beast Hart Adept PrC and Moonsea Skysentinel for something similar to Animal Companion.

The Cityscape web enhancement (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20070228a) has the Urban Companion ACF which converts an animal companion into something like a familiar, which is arguably a pretty good deal for rangers since their half-strength Animal Companion can be lackluster, whereas the UC gets 3/4 of its master’s hp and all of its master’s skill ranks regardless of effective druid level (not getting all the “familiar” upgrades doesn’t hurt as much as delayed animal companion progression). Even if your character prestiges out, your UC keeps improving in a lot of the ways that probably matter to you, and it’s not a potential XP-bomb like an actual deployed familiar.
