I'm playing a Revised Beast Ranger in a one-shot soon, and had a quick question about the animal companion. I'm going with a Wolf, and their statblock lists an AC of 13 due to Natural Armor. The RR says you add your prof. bonus to their AC, which brings it to 16. Would the Wolf's AC also benefit from their Dex mod increasing? The default score is 15, but the Ranger is going to be Level 7 so I'll be able to raise the Dex to 16.

There isn't a lot of direction for what raising the revised rangers stats does in terms of non-ability check stuff like AC or damage. The most common interpretation I've seen is yes, it affects that stuff, but check with your DM.

But you're best off buying some medium armor barding for a Wolf companion. You still get to add your prof bonus to the barding AC. That would let you raise Str to help attack and damage, if your DM allows that to work.
