Hello all. I'm running a campaign soon, and the chars will run into some characters speaking draconic fairly early. I've decided to make my party laugh a bit and I want all convesion in draconic to be 1337 5p33k. However, I'm not exactly a bastion of knowledge on that front. So, if the mod's let us duck around fourum rules just this once, it would be helpful if people could put a "compendium" of all 1337 5p33k words, and their meanings.

Now, having used so many numbers instead of letters, I'll got take a shower. I feel dirty.

1337 isn't a series of words with accepted spellings. It's bastardized english, which substitutes letters for various symbols on the keyboard. It may be pronounced slightly differently (i.e. Foreslash, Backslash, Foreslash, Zero), or it may be slightly exaggerated in some cases. Whatever looks like a letter can be substituted for an equivalent letter. Therefore, what you want is probably a translator, which can convert regular text into 1337 $p3@K.

Convieniently, Wikipedia has a set of commonly accepted substitutions. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leet#Orthography)

@Arbitrarity: What really scares me is that I was able to understand what you put into the spoilers... :smalleek:

@Topic: I think this could be somewhat difficult, since 1337 is more about writing it in a... strange way, rather than having a that much different vocabulary. So it would likely lose much of its peculiarities when spoken.

As Winterwind said, leetspeak is best used for text and not for speech. Perhaps try pig latin or maybe Ubbi Dubbi.
