A (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/badger.htm) couple (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/wolverine.htm) of (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/direBadger.htm) animals (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/direWolverine.htm) that have the Rage special attack enter rage once damaged and can't end it voluntarily "clawing and biting madly until either it or its opponent is dead.".
Does this mean the animal can't withdraw from combat, even if it's death is imminent, while raging and has to contiue "clawing and biting"? If so, would you be able to force an animal companion with such a feature to back off/down with the use of down, or come tricks (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/skills/handleAnimal.htm) (or any other trick(s) allowing this)?
