New player here. I’m interested in how many attack rolls a 5th level ranger, proficient with dual wielding and “horde beaker” gets when attacking 2 monsters side by side.

Mob 1: roll d20 twice, once for each hand then roll twice more for 5th level ability of “extra attack” or just once more for three rolls total?
Mob 2: how many dice rolls here? One? Two? Three? Four?

Thank you!

You get 3 attacks on your action, at least one of which has to go on a second creature within 5ft, and one attack as a bonus action from dual wielding.

Isn't it 4?

1 normal, 1 from extra attack, 1 off hand from dual wielding, and possible 1 more with you main hand if there another target within 5ft.

Just once more.

One.

It’s worth noting that you can split your attacks between the mobs 3-1 or 2-2. The horde-breaker attack must be attached to one of your three (regular, extra, or bonus) attacks and must be with the same weapon against st the other mob.

It would generally make the most sense to use the Horde-Breaker Attack 2nd, so you have flexibility of choice with the following attacks.

Thank you!

You’re welcome.
