Suggestions for meeting point for Death House (no spoilers)

I have played Death House, but not CoS yet (so no spoilers please). I am about to run Death House with some friends, also my first DM-ing experience.

When we played we just "were in a field, you don't know how you got there", which I found really startling as a way for a group to meet.

I would love some suggestions please, as I am a little lost.

Have a session 0, ask the players to make characters that are already connected, perhaps by a mutual desire for a McGuffin you can put in the Death House.

I just had a great idea.

A young couple want to get married and they have heard about an old haunted house. They invite a best man, a bridesmaid, and a sorcerer (to perform Ceremony).

Then they get married (+2 to AC for 7days now), just as the ceremony finishes ...... well stuff happens.

Fog rolls in, get chased by wolves and the new characters must stand together or die. Then they realize they are not where they thought they were.
