The system is D&D 3.5/Pathfinder.
One of my players just recently manifested an Astral Construct in order to go after an incorporeal creature (a Banshee to be exact). The player cited the fact that Astral Constructs are solidified ectoplasm (supposedly the same stuff ghosts are made out of) and should be able to hit them.
Though I am slightly inclined to let the construct be capable of attacking incorporeal creatures, I'm having a tough time finding anything within the rules that supports this.
On a similar note, I'd like to know if things like Ectoplasmic Cocoon, Dismiss Ectoplasm, Ectoplasmic Sheen, etc. would affect Incorporeal creatures. If they do, things could get... interesting.
