View Full Version : Trap Spells (Not Spell Traps)

I'm looking to find more spells that count as traps such as Fire Trap, Glyph of Warding, and the Symbol of X line. I've been having trouble coming up with effective search terms and thought I'd poll the group mind.

I'm particularly interested in any such spells that have a short casting time (less than 10 minutes) and without an expensive material component. If it can be cast on any old object even better!

Explosive Runes seems to check all your boxes, aka "a wizard never forgets their ticket"

Sepia Snake Sigil takes 10 minutes to cast and forces a reflex save vs paralysis.

Ghoul Glyph takes 1 minute to cast

Arcane Archer can imbue area spells into arrows to cast them as standard actions.

Also, Glyph of Warding's "Spell Glyph" function can be made very powerful (http://minmaxforum.com/index.php?topic=10643).

It's also permanent, so can be cast during downtime to build up an excessive collection, which you can then use to shower an area, then hit with an area of effect dispel magic, deliberately fail all the caster level checks, and have them all go off simultaneously, basically nuking that area.
