It's soon time for the second Mordenkainen's Mayhem!

Tonight, it's Astral Pirates (you know, pirates, but in the Astral) vs people born with an heart full of neutrality, as the Githyanki and the Githzerai faces each others.

More info soon.

I am curious to see what kind of powers these Gith will have. I hope they aren't just knights and zerths with more hp.

I'm curious too.

I think we're going to see some magicks.

Wouldn't mind if it was master monk vs elite of the elite of knights, though.

Starting now on twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/dnd).

A "githyanki supreme commander" versus a "githzerai anarch".

My pronostic is that the Anarch will win, but I'm prepared to be surprised.

EDIT: Oh mah gawd, a wild mind flayer appears!

Not liking it so far. Using telekinesis to attack with a sword? Is that legal?

It actually is, technically. Telekinesis gives fine control.

Though it would be more be a poke than than attack.

EDIT: Man this match is just wild. And holy damn those damages.

EDIT 2: Well, that's a thing that happened.

I must say I like the monsters a lot, just as I liked the ones of last week, but I'm quite disappointed in this match.

Telekinesis gives 1000lbs of force. A longsword has a mass of 3lbs.
Let's convert that to metric, I don't normally do physics calculations in Imperial units.

4448.22 Newtons if force
1.36078 kilogram sword
F=ma
a = 3268.88 meters/second squared
At that acceleration, you can get the sword to 19613.25 m/s or 267567.22 mph in 6 seconds.

The speed of sound is 767.269 mph or 343 m/s.
Therefore, you can accelerate the sword to mach 57.18 in a round, and even faster beyond that.

I'm pretty sure that's not "poke" speed. That's "blow a hole straight through your enemy" speed.

No.

Telekinesis does not give 1000lbs of force. It can move an item of 1000lbs or less at a speed of 5ft/second

Or, in the case of the sword, less than 1.5 kg at a speed of 1.5m/s

The acceleration isn't that amazing.

...people born with an heart full of neutrality...

What makes a man turn neutral ... Lust for gold? Power? Or were you just born with a heart full of neutrality?

In order to lift a 1000 lb object straight, you need at least 1000 pounds of force to counteract gravity

Anyway, I would never allow a player to use TK in that way, it's just funny.
