Crafting with Mithral and what-not?

Hello all,

I was just wondering if you add the material cost of mithral or other materials to the base cost or if that "piece" is added in separately like the Masterwork part?

It's listed in the rules for each special material. Mithril is always considered masterwork and the mw surcharge is rolled into the price. That's the standard for a number of expensive materials, but not all of them.

Cold iron and silver for example, are not automatically masterwork, they're also much cheaper than mithril. If you want to make them mw, you have to figure that separately.

Thank you I got that part on the cost.

I was just making sure that I was reading the roll for it being mithral or admantine is separate from its other crafting roll. As when your making a MW item the MW part is a separate task, but this is less clear on the special material items.
