Is there such a thing? I came across rules on the internet, but they were so complicated. Does anyone know how who can sumarize it for me?

Solitaire? The game isn't intended like that.
You could play 2 decks versus each other, although, any control will become troublesome.

You could try doing this : Magic Solitaire (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=magic/rules/solitaire)

Or this site (http://www.angelfire.com/games4/magicvariants/) has a lot of solitaire ways of play.

There is a computer game of Magic: The Gathering, that you can find on the 'net to download free from certain sites and is playable 1-Player...I believe it's now freeware, though I suspect that you might be able to find a copy being sold on e-bay or somesuch, if you wanted to pay for it (for some reason)...it's only based on the early(er) editions though and isn't amazingly programmed (some combo's don't work, for example)

The game is also hard to read. The font is small, and it doesnt really play like MTG. Its hard to describe, but mildly fun.

This website (http://www.angelfire.com/games4/magicvariants/index.html)has a ton of "Magic" variants, and even though I haven't looked through all of them, I think there's a single-player variant in there.

Of course, I usually just grab two of my decks and play them against each other. It doesn't work well, but it at least lets me see how to tweak each deck.

I'd probably suggest Magic Workstation for deck making and being able to test one against the other by yourself, offline.

Alternativelly, if what you need is simply a crash-course in the Magic rules (since you say your problem is that they're "too complicated" - and believe me, I understand where you're coming from, it takes a bit to get used to) it might be better if you simply find someone willing to explain them to you calmly and with examples. If you wish, I can probably volunteer, I think I have the rules more or less grasped, having had to act as judge at a few releases and all that :smalltongue:.

If you want to play the computer game based on Magic the Gathering, here's a link: http://free-game-downloads.mosw.com/abandonware/pc/strategy_games/games_m_n/magic_the_gathering.html

It's a single player game where you basically walk around the map and monsters come and challenge you to Magic duels. You can build up your deck as you go along. It's pretty fun, but it is an old game though and all the cards are old.

I seem to recall playing one in high scoll around the release of 4th edition called "The Duel" that had just 5 single colored decks you could play, but it was fun and only 10mb total. Where could we find that?
