Does the 2nd level spell darkness neutralize a lot of the advantages conferred by the 9th level spell foresight. It looks like it does. Am I missing something?

Nothing in the Foresight spell description requires the spell recipient to see anything or have line of sight on anything or anyone.

So I'm not seeing the problem here. In a word: NO.

On the other hand, Foresight simply gives Advantage. Thus anything that would otherwise impose Disadvantage on the target still cancels out the Advantage from Foresight.

But if you are in darkness you suffer, effectively, from the blinded condition. So you have disadvantage on attacks, which cancel out your advantage. And attacks against you have advantage, which cancels out the disadvantage people have on attacks against you.

You get to keep advantage on saving throws and ability checks, true, that is why I said it cancels out most of the benefits of the spell.

You could also say that foresight cancels the dis/advantages conferred by darkness.
