I was going to make a TWF ranger, and have him use a unique (ish) weapon. His preference would be a sword cane, and the blade you pull out is effectivly a short sword, but he would use the cane part as a weapon for his off-hand. Im thinking it would count as a light mace or a muspelrule (planar handbook, actualy I think that makes the most sense). What do you all think it should be?

Second half a of a quarterstaff actually makes sense, from a logic perspective, but that's slightly weaker (oh no 1 less average damage) than what it should be as a martial weapon. Make it give a bonus on Sleight of Hand checks with it, and you should be set.

That is, 1d6/1d6, piercing/bludgeoning, (19-20/x2 /x2)

Awesome, cool, and thanks.

The Shikomi-Zue from Oriental Adventures fits the bill. It functions as a quarterstaff (1d6/1d6 x2) when the blade is concealed. When the blade is drawn, it deals (1d8/x3 piercing). You could simply use the other end as a light mace (1d6).

I would say rapier and club

club can be a stick, the cane is a stick in sense

but i thought somewhere they made a swordcane
