So, heres the situation. We're in a dungeon on a stone bridge held by chains above a chasm. A monk(PC) has just burst out of the doors on the other side of the bridge fighting what I assume to be dragonborn NPCS being whipped into action by kobolds.

Our resident goblin alchemist has a vial of Russet Mold. The monk has low HP and may die next round.
He plans to throw it into the fray, but the monk has to move.

My halfling bard mounted atop his mastiff has a scroll of Raise Dead. Would Raise Dead cure the Russet Mold if I had to resurrect him, or would my party have to do something to remove it first? My DM also has no idea.
Our party is average level 5

Also, any other ideas on how to save the monk?

The MM entry doesn't really specify. If I had to guess, I'd say it's nonmagical.
Ultimately though it's up to the DM and magically enhanced diseases/poisons can make for great adventure hooks!

Regarding your situation.. sometimes PCs die.
Him bursting out of a door from somewhere where you guys aren't sounds like he split the party and is now being buttoxed as a result.
It would be a fair death.
