Hi everybody!

I asked in here about a serenity RPG. Ah. how those days have come and gone. New thing come over me. Me and some friends finished bioshock and are thinking that if we play in rapture, in a "survive god damn it!" situation, it could be very fun. We are almost sure we are goin to modify the serenity system, since we like it so much, and it is modified from the alternity system, if i remember right. Now, I have two questions. The first is for alternity fans. Where can I get a basic SRD or book, so I ont have to use the serenity system (I can use the serenity system, just rather not) and what kind of reccomendations do you have for how to do plasmids? Just like spells in DND? Then how do we work plasmid and tonic slots? We havn't really sat down and worked on it, but I am working on getting as many prelim. opinions as I can, so.. discuss... i guess! =)

Thread labeled for spoilers, so dont worry about them. :smalltongue:

Edit: some searching has found that Serenity RPG is not based off of alternity, or if it is, it is HEAVILY modified...

I can model a "Survive in Rapture" Style game... Remarkably simply, just making use of the Expanded Psionics Handbook, and a d20 Modern shell.

Treat your upgraded and purchased Plasmids as manifested abilities. Run your characters as either Smart Heroes or Tough Heroes, but, and here's the tricky part... You're going to be heavily borrowing from the Manifester lists and Power-point structure of XPH.

Any time you're picking up "Expanded EVE" Plasmids from the Gardens, you'll be increasing your PP Pool. Any time you purchase or gain any type of plasmid, be it physical improvements (See Inertial barrier, Biofeedback for these), Your "Fist Full O' Lightnin'" (Energy Line), Telekinesis(Far Hand), Wrench Jockey (Hammer), Control Big Daddy (Id insinuation), Enrage (Personality Parasite)...

You gain the use of your PP Pool, and the ability to use these, based off of the quantity of available PP(EVE) You have available.

Just a thought.

I really wish I knew psionics so that I could use that. And sadly we are pretty set on whatever system that the serenity rpg is based off of. hmm. Guess we are going the long hard route. Thanks though! :smallfrown:

Psionic Overview (http://www.d20srd.org/indexes/psionicPowersOverview.htm)
Power List (http://www.d20srd.org/indexes/psionicPowerList.htm)
Powers Alphabetically (http://www.d20srd.org/indexes/psionicPowers.htm)

The system is relatively simple, every power costs PP. You get a number of PP, which increases to a larger pool every level. You manifest powers as a sorcerer does, but its even better, because you can do just weak powers, but tons of it, or just fire off a few bomb-type powers every day.

You realize that does mean that every player could only play in one location, and could make a character for that campaign only twice, before being forever blocked from it. Unless his character is a pirate, of course.
