Protection From Evil and Dominate Person

If cast on them, Protection from Evil prevents the target of a Dominate Person spell from receiving new commands while it is in effect... but do they still continue to carry out the old ones? Can a person affected by Dominate Person only follow one command at a time, or can you give them a list of commands to follow?

Prot <alignment> completely blocks effects from manipulating the target's mind for the duration of the spell. As long as prot evil is in effect, it's as though the target isn't dominated at all.
