Discluding its spellcasting and any class feature not tied to its Fused Eidolon, what tier is the Synthesist Summoner/Unchained Summoner?

High 4 low 3. It’s adequate in combat, up to very good with sufficient optimization. It checks some boxes for “things melee needs” like flight, d door and blindsight. Not very useful outside combat and could be shut out in the wrong kinds of encounters.

Like... high tier 4? It's basically a less versatile Aegis with a worse chassis and the only tricks it can do can also be done by any competent alchemist, druid, or barbarian - who also get other class features.
