How would you build yourself a Heads-Up Display using magic, which pushes really hard against the 4th wall, similar to the information-granting displays that most video games have? That is, you gain knowledge of things like race and class, status effects, hp/max hp, hostility level, relative CR/threat rating, inventory management, and so on?

Think the Inventory and Observe skills, from The Gamer (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Gamer_(manhwa)), except constantly active unless turned off.

Furthermore, since we've got this thing going, how about bona fide wireless internet access, accessible from anywhere in the multiverse (just in case)? The internet is a fantastic tool and multimedia entertainment package all in one, and access to it would be fantastic.

I'd ask about the ability to project info on the HUD (pictures and sound) into the real world, but that could easily be done via silent image and ghost sound.

Assume the Great Wheel, with our world off in its own little corner but connected via the Plane of Shadow and Astral Plane. There's no native magic here, but it's not a dead magic plane.

So, any ideas?

A spell clock (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/cw/20070312a) (or a self-resetting spell trap, if you fancy) of demand (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/demand.htm) that contacts mechanus every second, asking the modron (they're basically robots anyways) on the other end to send the message somewhere else would work out. As in:

1) Send messages in demand to modron.
2) If any of them fail, modron responds (as per RAW in demand) asking for a resend of the message
3) Message sent!

Dunno what kind of thing you'd like to do with this sort of getup though, but it should* work.

*provided nothing takes too long.

There's a 4th level druid spell that measures HD, IIRC Nope! 1st level Powersight (MotW)

Provided with the ability to see 5 minutes into the future, Modify Memory (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/modifyMemory.htm) could work, unless there's a better spell that alters what a subject thinks. Silent Image/Ghost Sound might be a bad (albeit cheap) choice because others could figure what you're getting.

This sounds like a Interface Helmet from Tenra Bansho Zero. Usually you would need to have access to the sensors of an armour to get sensory data either directly through piloting the armour or remotely in the case of puppet armours. Also comes with internet through either the North Court or South Court. It is possible to contact other people also using interface helmets in the case of joint military operations or regularly scheduled reports.
