3.5 monster find

I recently came across a 'monster' that looks to all intents and purposes looks like a cat.

It has some special abilities like telepathy (I think). I can't remember what book it was in or where I found it, although I'm pretty sure it wasn't MM4 as I haven't got the book.

Can anyone suggest names of monsters and where to find them?

Darrin, hats off to you. You managed to save me hours of searching through the web and books and actually found the monster i was looking for, even though I gave a really crap description.
