The Nokia N95 has always been better than the iPhone anyhow... It has a freaking 5MP digital camera built in. *drools* I should be getting a new phone any day now as my old one just died *grumbles*

Yea the phone company is getting all annoyed that some guys figured out how to hack the iPhone and go to some one else. I don't even understand how they can sue, which they many do, they payed for the phone they should be able to do what they want.

I wouldn't get too exited.

How can one claim something is better than something else when one has not help both devices in their hands? The MiniOne is still vaporware. It only exists as a few pictures and specs on the internet. Until an actual prototype is built, you have to take all this with a grain of salt.

Now, if the specs are indeed true, then this will be running Windows Mobile 6. Have any of you used ANY version of windows mobile? It has to be the worst OS ever connived by mankind. I haven't actually used Version 6, but I do have intimate experience with both 2003 and version 5. If that transition was any precedent, don't expect anything too amazing.

I'm not too sure about this next bit, but I can't find any sources on whether the touchscreen will support any sort of multitouch-like technology. I have an Axim X50v, and I'v also used an iPhone. The difference between the two screen technologies is astounding. Being able to gesture opens up alot of UI goodies.

Just a few points I thought I should throw out there. If anyone wants a more detailed justification to my views, just yell.

EDIT:

Stickman, they can't take legal action.

Cell phone unlocking is SPECIFICALLY excluded from the provisions of the DMCA. AT&T is not within its legal bounds to stop people from performing the aforementioned task.

the cell phone industry is evil and corrupt, just like oil, pharmasuticals, childrens television, and advertising... and anything else that people pay money for... if i can avoid giving my money to any of them then im happy. also... why does the Iphone need to be a phone? if it does any of the crap it says it does i would never activate the phone. why get telemarketing calls halfway through your favorite movie or in the middle of a post?

It can't possibly be worse than the iPhone.

The greatest thing about my iPhone is that it means I no longer have to carry a bank statement around with me wherever I go, as people can now easily see how successful I am simply by observing my communications device of choice.

I agree. The whole world is completely against me too. Oh, the misery! Down with society!

As for the actual topic at hand, it really shouldn't surprise anyone that there are now phones that have done the iPhone idea better than the 'original', since this was also the case before the iPhone was released. What next? Are you going to proclaim that someone has 'cloned' the iPod by making an mp3 player that is actually worth buying?! Surely not!

The phone in the ad runs you $260 or $450 for 8 or 16 GB respectively. The iPhone just dropped to $400 for the 8GB. If the clone is decent its a better value, but I have a hard time trusting them to throw together something like that when apple has spent a long time developing it.

For the record I'm holding off till the second generation of iPhones before even considering getting one.

Mind expanding on your post?

Have you used both OS's?
