Just playing around and wondering what works better.

ST 17
DE 10 or 14
CO 17
IN 8
WI 14 or 10
CH 8

So 4th +1 ST, +1 CO to 18 each.

Then between 6th and 8th you boost ST and CO to 20 each.

Then you take the only feat - the weaker of WI or DE gets Resilent.

Then the stronger gets (14, 16, 19) boosted to 20.

So, while it is just white room gaming, which (DE or WI) gets resilient and which gets to “20” in the build.

More importantly- Why?

If you’re a Dwarven Samurai, obviously take Resilient Dex and boost Wis, since you get Wis save proficiency at L7, plus Wis bonus to Persuasion. And since you got to take Persuasion as a bonus skill at L3, you (eventually) get to be a Cha 8 Dwarf Fighter with +10 in Persuasion, because what you say just makes so much dang sense that no one can contradict you.

I'd put Resilient on Wis and also take wisdom to 20. Reflex saves are mostly damage which is fine, whereas Wisdom saves tend to be much nastier to fail.

What is a “Reflex Save” in 5e?

I would assume they meant Dexterity save. Old habits die hard, I guess .

I'd rather have Res(Wis) and have the 20 Dex so I could shed armor and also have an awesome ranged attack to go along with my awesome melee attack. Also more Initiative.

And this OD&D three booklet player understands that entirely.
